Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Dragon God’s Legacy

"Ah, it looks like a little fellow has escaped," Yuezi gazed down at the city below and shook her head with a faint smile.

"Oh well… I'll let it be. Don't get in the way of my grand plan."

"Boss!"

Several battered and broken evil soul masters flew to Yuezi's side, their eyes filled with terror.

"Well, I didn't expect any of you to still be alive. That saves me the trouble. Gather up the remaining forces. Hold them off for a while — stop those Federation enforcers. Once I ascend as the Evil God, I will grant you all eternity!"

"Yes!" they cried out together. Calling them lunatics was an understatement; their wild eyes burned with fanatical devotion.

"What… is that?" Jiang Xing muttered in disbelief, his eyes taking in the scene ahead.

Massive violet vines were bursting skyward, wrapping tightly around the city. The earth cracked open, and strange energies surged upward, feeding into the enormous eye hanging in the sky.

The ground trembled violently.

"Alert! Alert!"

Shouts echoed, and urgent alarms blared through the mech units. Danger was closing in.

Suddenly!

The ground split apart, and enormous vine-like tendrils lashed toward them like spears.

Thud.

The soldiers dodged just in time, leaving the vines to strike empty ground — but right after… one, two… seven more shot forward!

"Armor-piercing rounds! Ready!" Jiang Xing commanded sharply.

With the chirp of specialized machinery, small projectiles fired from the mechs' weapons, zipping through the vines and piercing them cleanly.

Some mechs wielding blade weapons surged forward, slicing through the massive tendrils with powerful swings.

"Lock onto the city's vine barrier. Blast a breach — we're going in." Jiang Xing's eyes were bloodshot. If the three supersonic pilots were dead, how could he face the military district? How could he face the Federation? A single pilot's worth exceeded that of the entire aircraft; even if they were dead, their bodies had to be recovered.

"Commander Xing, the satellite feed is heavily jammed. We can't see what's happening inside. Are we really going in?" came a hesitant voice over the comms.

Jiang Xing hesitated, jaw clenched — then he bit down hard and roared, "We go! We must go!! Our comrades are still inside! Do any of you agree to retreat?!"

"NO!!" the soldiers roared back in unison.

Nearly three hundred fifth-grade soul-guided shells launched, striking the outer vine walls of the city.

When the smoke cleared, a massive gap appeared.

But waiting on the other side… were dozens of evil soul masters, all at the Soul King level.

Battle!!

A kilometer-long charge — for the mechs, it was just a matter of seconds. Flesh clashed with steel; soul skills collided with missiles.

"This battle… I don't know how many of us will survive," Jiang Xing bellowed. "But we have no way back! Our people are still trapped inside! Our comrades' fates are unknown! So — do not grieve for the fallen! Do not mourn the fallen! On the battlefield, there is no place for emotion! If you must feel something, save it for victory!!"

"What are the requirements to unlock the nine seals?" Gu You asked the Dragon God.

"The first three are very easy. You can unlock one right now and absorb its essence. The requirements are: reach Soul Elder, Soul Emperor, and Title Douluo stages."

"And the rest?" Gu You frowned. "That sounds almost too simple."

"You need to reach god level," the Dragon God answered calmly, cutting off Gu You's doubts with a single line.

"God level?" Gu You froze. 'That's basically impossible!'

"It only sounds hard," the Dragon God explained. "Once you unlock the third seal and reach the Limit Douluo stage, you're already effectively at god level — you just lack the god position."

Outside, the underground chamber shook violently. Gu You sat cross-legged, his soul ring now fully merged within him — a brilliant crimson color. If anyone saw this, they'd be shocked: a Soul Elder possessing a hundred-thousand-year soul ring, plus an ultimate attribute.

The soul bone had stabilized as well, his right leg faintly glowing blue.

"Human, wake up already! This place is about to collapse!" The Ice Emperor Scorpion paced nervously inside the spiritual sea. "You just made me your soul spirit — you can't let us both get crushed right away!"

'My luck is so miserable…' it whined.

"So how do I unlock the first seal?" Gu You asked calmly.

"The conditions are met, so it's simple. Use your heart, use your hand — feel the vastness of the power within."

One of the nine beams of light circling the Dragon God slowly drifted toward Gu You, pausing before him.

Gu You placed his hand on it. A wave of ultimate destruction and extinction washed over him, but instead of fear, he felt… comfort. Dragon scales began to ripple across his skin.

Outside, a gentle white light enveloped Gu You, forming a perfect cocoon — like an egg.

It felt like soaking in a warm spring, the gentle currents wrapping around his body.

'Amazing… this feels incredible!'

His mind emptied, savoring the purest sense of bliss.

Creation meant destruction; destruction birthed creation…

"My power changed dramatically after that battle," the Dragon God murmured. "Sometimes I wonder — am I still truly myself?"

Crack!

The fragile cocoon of light shattered. A pair of pale, almost porcelain hands emerged, followed by the rest of the body.

Gu You's entire being seemed transformed. His skin was almost unnaturally white, contrasted only by his dark lashes and violet-blue eyes.

"How do you feel?" the Dragon God asked softly.

"I've never felt this good before," Gu You marveled. "I can sense a huge boost in strength — even the side effects of forcibly breaking through just now are completely gone. I'm now a solid peak-level Soul Elder, level 30."

"That's not even the main part," the Dragon God said. "The first seal grants you a divine domain skill. It has two aspects: enhancement and suppression. It's called 'Silent Genesis.' In truth, it's two domains — one focused on annihilation, the other on creation."

"A domain?" Gu You blinked in surprise. Normally, only highly talented individuals could touch on domain power after reaching Soul Sage level, and even then only under special circumstances — or, more rarely, by inheriting someone else's domain. Clearly, he was in the latter case.

"As a divine skill, its effects are extraordinarily powerful. Once you develop it, you'll understand. But my benevolent will is very weak — I must sleep again soon. Without me, even if you reach Soul Emperor level, it will be very hard to break the second seal."

"Thank you, senior Dragon God," Gu You said solemnly. "Since you've entrusted this legacy to me, I can't turn my back on the affairs of the soul beast race."

"Even if you don't want to, you must," the Dragon God's voice rumbled faintly. "It's good that you understand now. Even if you abandon your promise one day, I would destroy you — and myself — to ensure it."

The voice faded, and a sinister, oppressive aura began to swell, pressing heavily on Gu You.

'So this… is the price of inheriting the Dragon God,' Gu You thought softly.

His body dissolved into points of light, vanishing from this strange space.
