Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 We are the navy, we are not afraid

fooling Cas, Kuro breathed a sigh of relief.

He is a navy of the 153rd branch.

Yes, it is the branch ruled by the axeman Monka.

It is also Luffy's first stop.

Zoro's capture means the beginning of the plot. In the next few days, Luffy will go there to defeat Monka and liberate the 153rd branch that is ruled by force.

He doesn't want to have anything to do with Luffy.

Those who will make trouble will all be blacklisted by him and don't even want to see them.

Otherwise, why would he lead the patrol ship out to sea from time to time? Wouldn't it be better for him to stay safely in the branch until he dies?

And if he goes back now, what if the plot changes? What if Zoro doesn't go with Luffy? Then Luffy will have to look for a partner in the East China Sea.

What if he doesn't find someone he likes? What if he stays in the East China Sea too long?

With such a trouble-making character and strength, if he really caused trouble in the East China Sea, few people could deal with him. If he was involved in catching him, wouldn't the problem never end?

What if he was injured and Garp pestered him? What if his strength was exposed and he was recruited to the headquarters and then went to the New World to arrest pirates? Wouldn't that be very troublesome?

He was not afraid, he just didn't want to change the plot.

  Well, that's it.

A day later, the warship arrived at the location described in the treasure map.

  "Sergeant, it's Galmorro Island."

On the bow deck, Sergeant Cass held a telescope, looking at a volcanic island in front, and said to Kuro beside him.

Hearing this, Kuro was completely relaxed.

He came to Galmorro Island two years ago to buy supplies this time. There was only an ordinary town on the island, and there was no treasure.

That meant there was no danger.

"Sergeant, there is a pirate ship!"

  Suddenly, Cass shouted.

  "What flag?" Kuro asked hurriedly.

"The bounty for a pirate flag that is not very famous should not be high."

Kuro believed this. Cas was a very serious person. He was as good at recording wanted orders as a bounty hunter. If he said the bounty was not high, then it was not high.

  It was stable.

"Fire and sink it." Kuro said.

  Boom boom boom!

The cannons fired, and several shells hit the pirate ship. One shell hit the pirate ship and caused an explosion.

On the opposite side, there was no movement.

It seemed as if there was no one on the pirate ship.

Several more shells were fired, but the pirate ship still did not move. If there were pirates on the ship, they should have moved.

However, Kuro did not want to put away the guns. Why not sink it if he could.

After more than a dozen shells, a shell from the warship hit the opponent's ammunition depot, an explosion occurred, and the ship slowly sank.

With the help of a telescope, Kuro saw that there was no trace of living people on the ship.

The warship approached, and a group of navy took a small boat to the wreckage of the pirate ship. After an investigation, the navy came back to report.

"Sergeant, there is no one on the ship, and there is nothing on it. It is an empty ship."

"Got it, then don't worry about it, dock and go to the town to have a look."

Kuro nodded and instructed the navy.

The small town of Germoro Island is near the foot of the mountain ringed by the volcano. Kuro stopped as soon as he landed with his men.

  "Sergeant, what's wrong?"

Cas saw that Kuro looked wrong and asked.

"Send a team to explore ahead and pay attention to danger."

  Something is wrong.

  It's too desolate.

Kuro is cautious in his actions and remembers every island he comes to.     This island was completely different from the one he had been to a few years ago. The vegetation had obviously grown a lot, and there were no signs of animals.

The weather in the Four Seas was not as changeable as the Grand Line, and there was no rapid transformation of an island in a few years.

The vegetation now was obviously the result of the lack of animal ecological cycle, which led to its crazy growth, and this was limited to the inedible vegetation.

Kuro had not seen any decent wild vegetables along the way.

There were no signs of large animals nearby, and it did not seem like any beasts had settled here.

Soon, Kuro arrived at the town.

A few years ago, this town was still lush and the houses were very neat.

But now, all kinds of plants grew on the houses. He remembered that there were fields nearby, but now more than half of the fields were deserted.

At the intersection, several skinny children were squatting there playing games. One of them saw the people coming, was stunned for a moment, and ran into the town.

  "Navy, the navy is coming!"

The door of the house was opened, and the townspeople came out of the house and gathered in front of Kuro and his friends.

The townspeople were also pale and thin, and they all looked like they had not eaten enough for a long time. A thin old man walked up to Kuro, suddenly knelt down, and cried, "Marine Lord, please save our town!"

As the old man knelt down, the rest of the townspeople also knelt down one by one, sobbing continuously.

Kuro looked at the old man and said uncertainly, "Mayor Mendel?"

  ...

At the mayor's house, Kuro sat on a chair and looked at his house.

It can be said that the house is really bare.

He was also here when he came a few years ago, but the mayor's family was still very rich at that time.

"Don't worry, eat slowly, there is still some on the boat if it's not enough." Kuro looked at the mayor who was wolfing down the food opposite and said kindly.

  "Yeah."

The mayor kept nodding, but his hands did not slow down.

These people were so hungry that when they saw the navy coming, the first thing they knelt down was to ask for food.

Fortunately, Kuro brought a lot of food.

Kuro, who puts safety first, will of course be very prepared for a sea cruise.

The warship that could be led by a sergeant of this rank was a small patrol ship, with a standard crew of 80 people.

  That's for sure, full staffing.

Full of ammunition, full of medicine, and of course full of food. In pursuit of survival, Craw took only enough food to fill his stomach.

Enough food for 80 sailors to eat for three months.

  "Burp"

Mendel touched his round belly, burped comfortably, and tears flowed down: "It's been a year, we haven't had enough to eat for a whole year. Thank you so much, navy."

"You're welcome, Mayor Mendel, it's normal for the navy to help civilians, and when I came to buy supplies a few years ago, you gave me a lot of discounts."

Craw shook his head and asked: "So, you haven't had enough to eat for a year? Why?"

As soon as these words came out, Mendel showed a look of horror on his face, and shook his head frantically: "I'm grateful for being able to give you food, don't ask the reason, if there is anything you like in this town, just take it away, even though we are already poor."

If he could leave, of course Craw would leave.

But he looked at the mayor's dull eyes that had long been numb, and the images of the townspeople who had been eating voraciously, and sighed.

"We are the navy, we are not afraid, please tell me"

  "Sir, the navy!"

Mendel looked at Kuro with emotion, and seemed to have made up his mind, and said: "It's Florida, that devil, Florida!"

  Florida?

"The Florida you are talking about, is it a big pirate?" Cass standing aside couldn't help asking.

"It's not a question of whether it's a pirate or not. It's a rare kind. It's covered with white hair and wanders around like a ghost. Unfortunately, I can't see its face clearly."

Mendel said in fear, "Since it came here a year ago, all the food on the island has been eaten by it. It doesn't allow us to run. Occasionally, there will be ships coming here, but no matter whether they are pirates or treasure hunters, as long as they come to this place, they will inexplicably lose their strength. The demon asked us to clear the ships and exchange the treasures for food for it to eat, leaving us only a little to sustain our livelihood.

I know that we are still alive because we are still useful. Maybe one day we will be useless and Florida will eat us. This is already a cursed island!"
