Joshua didn't know why he had suddenly appeared in this blue space. Just a second ago, he was still lying in bed, his papa had kissed him goodnight… but then everything started spinning, and when he opened his eyes again — he was already here.
"Little Master, this is urgent — only you can save Lord Adonis!"
Just as Joshua looked around in confusion, a voice suddenly echoed, catching his attention. He turned to see a plump white cat gracefully walking toward him. What stood out the most was that the cat was wearing a tie and a pair of glasses, looking both professional and adorably serious!
Joshua's eyes widened in delight. He rushed over, scooped up the cat, and petted it affectionately.
"Kitty, kitty, such a cute little kitty."
Being held and cuddled against his master's cheek, Leo was nearly in bliss — but he couldn't get too carried away. They had a mission to complete!
"Little Master, this concerns Lord Adonis's life!"
Startled by that, Joshua let go, and Leo landed elegantly before quickly launching into an explanation.
Leo talked a lot, but with his little head, Joshua only grasped the basics: some unknown force had harmed his papa, their home had been destroyed, and his papa's soul had been split into countless pieces and scattered across different worlds, each fragment suffering endlessly!
"No! Papa can't be tortured like that!"
Joshua shouted, furious.
"Exactly — that's why I'm here. I'm Leo, the Save-Papa System. I'll accompany you on the mission to rescue Lord Adonis."
Leo swiftly explained everything, then added:
"The scenario for the first world has already been transmitted to you. We must go immediately — Lord Adonis can't hold on any longer!"
As soon as Leo finished, Joshua vanished and transformed into a beam of light.
In the first world, Papa was a famous actor and the heir to the wealthy William family. But for some unknown reason, he didn't want to inherit the family fortune. On top of that, he had a psychological disorder. Ultimately, he fell in love with someone known as the female lead. But Papa wasn't the male lead… and the result was betrayal and a life sentence in prison.
Joshua had barely arrived when he saw Papa holding a bouquet, kneeling to propose to the female lead.
But the female lead threw the flowers at him and ran off. Papa was devastated, crying so hard his nose was running as he frantically chased after her. They ran so fast that Joshua couldn't catch up!
"Papa, no!"
Joshua screamed, and the whole egg bounced high and landed hard. The unconscious Adonis jolted awake, sitting up abruptly.
At that moment, Leo's voice rang out:
"Little Master, don't say anything!"
Only then did Joshua realize — it had all been a nightmare. He let out a sigh of relief. He wanted to wipe the sweat off his forehead, only to remember that he was just an egg—no arms, no legs — and no cold sweat either.
Adonis had just sat up when a wave of dizziness hit him, sending him collapsing back into the seat. Instinctively, he lifted his hand to rub his forehead — only to flinch in pain as a groan escaped his lips.
His body felt both burning hot and freezing cold — he was sick. And his clothes were soaked through, making him shiver uncontrollably.
He glanced toward the wide-open car window. Ah… so that's why.
Turning to the rearview mirror, he caught sight of his face — and froze at the tragic sight. His usually handsome features now had a massive swelling on his forehead, blooming in shades of purple, blue, and black. The overall effect was painful to look at — and frankly ridiculous.
Adonis's expression turned foul — like he'd swallowed a hundred bugs.
His sharp gaze shifted toward the egg, pretending to lie still on the passenger seat.
"Don't play dead. Speak. What the hell are you?"
Adonis loomed over the egg like a towering giant, casting a shadow over it as he interrogated it coldly. Still, he didn't dare get too close — afraid the egg would headbutt him again like last night.
God knew… he felt lucky he didn't lose his memory from that blow.
"Um… Adonis?"
Just then, a hesitant female voice rang out.
Adonis's manager in the entertainment industry, Ariana, looked hesitantly at the top artist under her wing.
Even though she knew Adonis disliked the William family, could yesterday's meeting have shocked him so much… to the point he was now talking to an egg?
And besides, why was the egg so big?
Adonis stared at Ariana with an expressionless face.
Ariana immediately forced a laugh:
"Ha ha, it's nothing. I heard from your assistant that you didn't come back last night, so I came to check on you — didn't expect you'd still be at the William estate."
As she spoke, Ariana got into the car. Adonis instantly slid into the back seat.
"Why are you soaked? And what's with that expression? Also… why are you covering your forehead with one hand?"
Ariana glanced at Adonis through the rearview mirror, her brows furrowed, looking concerned like a mother hen.
Adonis stared coldly at the egg in his hands. The egg lay motionless, as if completely unaffected by the intense hatred in Adonis's eyes.
Adonis lifted his eyes, his face blank with numbness as he lowered the hand covering his forehead.
"Aaaaaaaa!"
Screeeeech—!
Ariana let out a high-pitched scream as the sound of the brakes tore through the quiet air. She swerved to the side of the road — thankfully, there were no cars behind them on this deserted stretch, or there might've been an accident.
Adonis's body rocked from the sudden stop, but his face showed no fear as though long accustomed to Ariana's death-defying driving. However, What stood out was how tightly he held onto the egg, as if terrified it would fly from his hands, fall, and crack.
But then again, thinking about how this egg had smashed into his forehead without leaving even a single crack...
Adonis felt his concern might be… unnecessary.
"Who on earth did this to you?! Why would you let yourself end up like this?! Do you know how many fans would cry their hearts out for you?! We've made it this far, thanks to that face of yours!"
Ariana flailed her hands dramatically, wanting to touch Adonis's face but not daring to, her expression filled with anguish and despair — as if she were the one injured.
Her cash cow! At this moment, Ariana wanted to devour the entire William family whole.
Adonis raised his hand to cover his forehead again.
Ariana fanned herself with her hand, looking on the verge of fainting.
"Seriously, who could have done this to you?"
Adonis lowered his gaze to the egg, then looked at Ariana and spoke wearily:
"If I told you it was this egg, would you believe me?"
Ariana: "...I'll schedule you an extra session with the therapist."
Adonis: "..."
He knew it — no matter how truthfully he told the story, no one would believe him. Even he felt that what happened yesterday was beyond absurd.
How could there be an egg that could talk and jump around?
Adonis wanted to believe it was just a hallucination. But the throbbing pain in his forehead was a tangible reminder: it all happened. As real as it gets.
