Chapter 1 - Ep.1

The year was 2009 where the first gate appeared in Hong Kong. From the gate came forth a terrible storm of beasts that each held the force of a nuclear bomb. Almost the entire southern hemisphere was destroyed until a single man stood against the monsters.

This man was the first Hunter to bare the responsibilities of protecting the world. Several years later Earth was at peace yet again and established order by forming the Ultimate Organization, The Hunter Bureau.

Soon hunters began to form ranks to categorize their strength and create classes based on their abilities that become known to them from the moment of their awakening.

Some might have an incredible aptitude for Healing Magic but wish to become a Shield user so they would choose the path of a Paladin. Or a Mage who wants to hold a sword? Would they not become a Magic Swordsman?

The Class possibilities were endless because most were based on the persons will alone.

'It seems less popular than I expected and far less exciting than I thought.'

Juan Garam, a young and well conducted man with an astounding muscular physique held nothing but a small bag in his hands walked through the gate to the most prestigious Hunter Academy in the world, Dragon Stone.

At Dragon Stone anyone could achieve great success by simply showing their talents.

Hunter interns like Juan were nervous because not only was the most prestigious school watching them closely but so was the entire world.

But why were they all nervous? It was because they could be rejected just as quickly as they entered the school grounds as all the Interns now stood in the Training Colosseum.

Many people in the crowd cheered at the sight of now interns and new potential but the crowd was quickly silenced as a elderly man floated in the centre of the Colosseum by using mana to manipulate the air around him.

His voice was loud enough to make everyone both inside and outside of the Colosseum could hear clearly.

"Good evening Intern's, I am Principal Thane Garam. In a moment we will begin the first test of Selection, Mana Sense. In a moment when your name is called you will demonstrate your aptitude for Mana."

Moments later a few staff members carried out a large white crystal ball easily the size of a helicopter before the Principal spoke again.

"When your name is called you will pour as much mana as possible into the mechanism before your eyes and it will read out your Mana Output for everyone to see. This will not effect your Testing Score but give you a chance to prove your qualifications."

Some might say that it was the most nerve racking moment of the test and while some of the interns would be nervous Juan was emotionless like he was suffering from an endless boredom.

Especially since he was here against his will as his grandfather, Principal Thane had begged for Juan to enter the academy.

Some might have called it favouritism because they were related but it was because Thane didn't want to see his grandsons phenomenal abilities waste away.

Juan's sudden rememberence of the begging was cut short due to both the crowd and interns erupting into excitement until he realized what happened.

A beautiful young woman with White hair and a stunning beauty that could seduce even those of the same gender completed her Mana Sense test.

Thane proudly announced the results like he did with the others but with more enthusiasm.

"Sara White! Scoring exactly 100,892 Mana Points! Well done!"

Most interns had only been scoring in the low hundreds so the appearance of Sara's score was breathtaking. But Juan was unimpressed not because he was arrogant about his talent but because he just simply didn't care at all.

Even Thane saw this and remained unfazed by Juan's reaction, infact he had expected this much from Juan and remembered the conditions that Juan placed on him to make him enroll to the Academy.

"1.Do not give me any special treatment 2.Adjust the Testing Rules to allow Interns to bring along items to aid them in the second or third test 3.A Monthly allowance of 100 Dragon Coins."

Thane still remembered his reaction as the last two conditions completely contradicted the first condition.

And even if Thane chose to overlook the first condition the third condition was to extreme.

Dragon Coins were the Schools currency and a single Dragon Coin was equivalent to 1 million dollars USD.

So that would essentially mean Thane would have to pay Juan at least 100 Million dollars a month just for Juan to be enrolled.

But nonetheless Thane agreed and made a public statement that announce the changes made to bring more excitement to the Intern Test.

-Back to the Present-

Thane kept announcing names and their test scores but while most were average there were some who excelled their scores.

"Ethan Ston, 60,890! Sariel Bloom, 98,992! Jacob Young, 88,910!"

Their scores were high but none of them scored higher then Sara White, at least until Thane called up the last Intern.

"Juan Garam, please step forward."

The entire colosseum went silent after hearing the name Garam.

"Garam? Someone related to the principal is taking the test?"

"I wonder what their like? I hope he's handsome."

"Shush! He might be a pervert who would play with young girl's hearts."

Juan paid no attention to the murmurs from fellow Interns and started making his way to the stage while moving through the crowd.

Only after Juan reached the stage did he look back at all the Interns with a blank expression before placing only a single finger on the crystal ball.

What happened next was beyond what anyone could imagine, except for Thane that is as a surge of Mana exploded from within the Crystal ball while Juan's Mana Count skyrocketed.

In less then ten seconds it had passed 100 thousand points and it showed no signs of slowing down and instead kept going higher.

"W-W-What!? It's passed 400 thousand and is still climbing! This has to be a glitch!"

"This has to be planned by the principle! It's a scam!"

Even all of the highest Scoring Interns were shocked as the turbulence in the air fluttered uncontrollably until they started to notice the crystal ball starting to crack.

After just 30 seconds the Crystal Ball looked on the verge of shattering before Juan stopped to reveal a satisfying score.

"Juan Garam, 1,792,857! Well done Intern! May you be a shining example to your fellow interns. You may return to your seat."

Thane made sure to give high praise while not explicitly stating they were related by calling Juan an Intern.

Juan gave a slight bow to Thane however before returning to his spot he dropped his bag and pulled out a small blue stone called a Mana Stone.

"Principal Garam, I hope to be apart of the proud history of Dragon Stone and I apologize for damaging testing equipment. I shall begin repairing the Mana Crystal if you'll allow it."

Everyone thought Juan was insane to ask if he could repair the Mana Crystal as not even most Craftsman who even helped create it could repair it.

But the principal gave a slight nod before Juan started using the Mana stone to trace over the cracks.

Only after every crack was covered did the Crystal Ball instantly repair itself. Juan had used the Mana stone to repair the cracks in the Mana Crystal Ball with ease and pinpoint precision but only a select few knew what Juan had done exactly.

'Mana Refinement?!'

'Mana Refinement?!'

'Mana Refinement?!'

'Mana Refinement?!'

By condensing one's own mana they could essentially weld together two magical objects together into one singular entity no matter if their origins clash with one another.

Or like Juan had done they could use Mana Refinement to repair certain objects.

Juan once again bowed to the Principal after confirming that the Crystal was repaired fully and grabbed his bag before returning to his seat.

Although the atmosphere was tense among the interns especially the three girls next to him who were whispering about him before.

So as to not get on Juan's bad side they all whispered under their breath while avoiding eye contact.

"We're sorry."

"We're sorry."

"We're sorry."

Juan might have been emotionless but it didn't mean he was cold blooded.

"Apology accepted."
