Chapter 41 - Chapter 43: The Trials of the Ruins

We set off towards the ruins with a mix of nervousness and anticipation. Along the way, there were constant dangers. From time to time, small mutant creatures would attack us, but we easily repelled them. However, the real challenges were yet to come.

When we finally reached the ruins, the sight before us left us in awe. It was an ancient and mysterious building. Its walls were engraved with strange symbols and patterns, as if telling an unknown history. The entrance to the ruins was tightly shut, emitting a powerful energy wave that made us reluctant to approach casually.

"Captain, this door doesn't seem easy to deal with," a team member said.

I carefully observed the door. "You're right. The energy wave on it is very strong. We can't force our way in. Lynn, see if you can find a way to open the door."

Lynn took out his device and started scanning the door. After some research, he frowned. "Captain, this door can only be opened with a specific password, and the password seems to be hidden in these symbols on the walls."

So, we began to carefully study the symbols on the walls. These symbols were very complex, and we couldn't figure them out after a long time of research. As time passed by, everyone's mood became more and more anxious.

"Captain, this won't work. We need to speed up," a team member said.

I nodded. "Everyone, look more carefully. Maybe the password is hidden in a place that's easy to overlook."

Just when we were feeling desperate, Lynn suddenly shouted, "Captain, I seem to have found some patterns."

We quickly gathered around. Lynn pointed to a group of symbols on the wall and said, "The arrangement of these symbols is similar to some patterns we saw on the mechanical device before. According to this pattern, I've deduced a possible password."

I looked at Lynn. "Let's give it a try."

Lynn stepped forward and entered the password he had deduced on the door. With a flash of light, the door slowly opened. We cheered excitedly and finally managed to enter the ruins.

However, after entering the ruins, we found that the dangers inside far exceeded our imagination. The passage was filled with a strange atmosphere, and traps would appear from time to time. We moved forward cautiously, not daring to be careless with each step.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently. An organ had been triggered. Countless sharp spikes emerged from the ground, and we quickly jumped to avoid them. "Everyone, be careful and watch your feet," I shouted loudly.

During the process of avoiding the spikes, a team member accidentally got his leg scratched by a spike. "Come here quickly. I'll help you treat the wound," I said.

After simply treating the wound, we continued to move forward. Next, we encountered a huge stone door. There were some strange words engraved on the stone door, which seemed to be some kind of puzzle.

"Captain, what do these words on the stone door mean?" a team member asked.

I looked at the words carefully. "These words seem to be testing our wisdom. We need to solve this puzzle to open the stone door."

So, we began to study the puzzle on the stone door. It was a very complex puzzle about mathematics and logic. We racked our brains, and after a fierce discussion, we finally solved the puzzle. The stone door slowly opened, and we continued to go deeper into the ruins.

Deep inside the ruins, we finally found the room where the catalyst was stored. The room was filled with a mysterious light, and the catalyst was placed in a huge crystal container. However, when we got close to the catalyst, a guardian suddenly appeared. It was a huge creature made of energy. Its eyes glowed with anger, and it pounced on us.

"Get ready for battle!" I shouted. The team members quickly took out their weapons and engaged in a fierce battle with the guardian. The guardian's attack power was very strong, and our team members were a bit struggling under its attacks.

"Captain, this guardian is too difficult to deal with. What should we do?" a team member asked anxiously.

I observed the guardian's attack pattern. "Everyone, pay attention to its attack rhythm and look for its weaknesses. We'll concentrate our fire on its energy core."

The team members followed the order and concentrated their fire on the guardian's energy core. Under our attacks, the guardian's attacks gradually weakened. After a tough battle, we finally defeated the guardian.

I walked up to the crystal container and carefully took out the catalyst. "We've finally found the catalyst. Now, let's leave here quickly," I said.

However, just when we were about to leave the ruins, we suddenly heard a rumbling sound. It turned out that the ruins were starting to collapse. "Everyone, run! The ruins are going to collapse," I shouted.

We ran desperately towards the outside of the ruins, with the constantly collapsing stones and dust behind us. At the last moment, we finally managed to run out of the ruins. Looking at the collapsing ruins behind us, we all breathed a sigh of relief.

Carrying the catalyst, we set off on the journey back to the castle. Although there would still be many dangers along the way, we believed that with the catalyst, the rebirth of the wasteland world was just around the corner.
