—"Ugh… Is it morning already?"
I cracked one eye open and lazily smacked the alarm clock, dragging myself out of bed.
After a good stretch, I walked toward the bathroom.
Time for a quick shower—No way I'm going to school unwashed. That's just cursed energy waiting to happen.
—"What the hell are you doing here?"
I stared blankly.
Seriously, I even took extra time in the bathroom just in case she needed a chance to get dressed.
And yet… here she is. Completely naked.
Not that I'm complaining.
—"Did we, uh… do anything last night?"
I raised a brow, not even bothering to hide where I was looking.
•This feels wrong on so many levels.•
I sighed inwardly. This whole situation is going to be a massive headache.
...
Gorou and his wife stared at Rias and me like we just summoned Satan in their kitchen. They couldn't believe their tit-obsessed son actually brought a girl home.
Putting that aside, I really need to start planning how to power up in record time.
No way I'm letting that smug bastard Vali have a cooler title than me.
My plans are mostly based on fanfics I read in my previous life...Not the best source of strategy, but it's what I've got.
The most viable route right now?Learn magic as fast as possible—and figure out how to awaken the Boosted Gear.
Also, I want to get my hands on one of those exorcist pistols.Might be able to shoot them just fine.
But enough long-term thinking. For now, I need the Gremory crew to keep thinking I'm just a dumb otaku who sees all this supernatural crap like it's an anime plot.
------
—"Buchou's looking for you."
Yuuto Kiba spoke calmly, glancing in my direction.
I walked beside him to the clubroom and entered a dimly lit chamber with the other members.
—"Ooooh, how mysterious…"
I said, pretending to be nervous.
The sound of running water caught my ear, and I turned toward it.
—"Wait, you guys have a shower in the clubroom? Fancy."
I played up the wide-eyed excitement.
Rias stepped out not long after. She was already back in her usual seat—dramatic shadows and all.
—"Issei Hyoudou, do you believe in the supernatu—"
—"Punched a guy with wings. Kinda obvious at this point."
I cut her off mid-sentence.
Rias sighed, visibly relieved she didn't have to waste time explaining things.Plenty of time for lore dumps later.
—"In that case, I won't drag this out."
She unfolded her wings. The rest of the club followed.
—"We're demons."
A couple of days passed since then.
Rias had me handing out flyers to gain "experience." The usual newbie stuff.
Given where we are in the story… it's about time Kala shows up.
If only she knew I've got a shotgun in my backpack.
—"Finally! She was starting to stress me out."
I said, watching the sky darken ominously.
—"So you're the Sacred Gear user who beat the crap out of Donashseek, huh?"
Gotta love this world's physics. She twitches her arm and those calcium cannons bounce three times.
I tossed my bike aside and spread my wings.
Let me just say—I love these things.
Wings are criminally underrated.
If Rias let me, I'd be flying to the damn grocery store.
Anyway, enough rambling.
I shot straight toward her, pretending I was going for a direct hit.
Kala wasted no time and threw what had to be the nastiest light spear in 12 generations.
Dodging them wasn't hard—they were way slower than Donashseek's.
Problem is, they felt way more dangerous.
I spun midair to avoid her attack and launched myself toward a house, using a wall to boost my speed.
CRASH!
The fallen angel flew backward, blood trickling from her nose.
No time to rest—I stayed on her, bouncing off any surface I could to keep the pressure up.
But then she cloaked herself in light.
Freaking spiked armor. Classic.
—"Damn cheating birds!"
I growled, using nearby buildings as launch pads to slam into her again.
•If I hit her before the light burns me, I win!•
—"FILTHY DEMON!"
She flared even more light, forming a dome around her.
Too late to stop—I crashed right into it.
BANG!
In the brief moment after the holy light seared me, I pulled out the shotgun Rias got me and fired point-blank.
She dropped the barrier to harden her body instead, taking the shot directly.
Didn't do much damage, but I know it hurt.
•Should've asked for a higher caliber...•
The look on her face made me grin. She clearly didn't expect me to pull out a gun.
What? You thought I was joking earlier?
BANG!
Another shot—shallow wounds this time, but enough.
•For someone weak enough to be fazed by budget Boosted Gear, it's wild she can tank a shotgun blast at this range.•
A magic circle lit up on the weapon, instantly reloading it.
I wish I could generate bullets from my mana already. That comes in about a week.
I watched Kala carefully. All that holy energy burned her out.
No loose ends.
BAM!BAM!
I dashed up close, firing directly at her head.
The shock broke her concentration—she dropped from the sky like a rock.
Perfect.
I went full missile-mode, crashing into her like a human bullet.
CRASH!
Once grounded, I grabbed the shotgun—it reloaded again.
—"Hasta la vista, baby~"
One final hit, and the fallen angel was done for.
.
.
.
—"And that's what happened, Gremory-sama."
It was just me and Rias in the clubroom.
I gave her the full play-by-play. No point hiding it.
One thing though—I still haven't extracted the Twice Critical...
—"So... are you guys finally letting me tag along for murder duty?"
I asked as we walked into what looked like a garage.
Yuuto raised an eyebrow at me.
—"That's… one way to put it," he chuckled.
I cringed. It's always weird seeing another guy act like that.
One day, I swear I'm zapping him with Azazel's gender-swap ray.
...
Anyway. Let's go end that weird-ass demon.
There she was—a woman-shaped figure in the distance, seemingly naked.
I smirked.
—"Heh. Boobs."
I raised my shiny new shotgun and aimed.
Rias launched into her dramatic speech about Evil Pieces and how this traitor demon deserved divine retribution.
Honestly? I just wanted to pull the trigger.
...
—"Gremory-sama, may I do the honors?"
I looked at her with mock puppy-dog eyes.
Rias smiled and nodded.
BAM!BAM!BAM!
—"Himejima-san, I get it now."
I reloaded the shotgun and blasted her again—this time in the chest.
—"Ara Ara~ So you see it too?"
Akeno giggled, gently electrocuting the demon while I kept firing.
—"It's obvious. Of course I see it."
The demon hadn't moved in a while... was she finally dead?
—"Huh. Thought she'd last longer."
Akeno gave me a pat on the shoulder.
—"That's the sad part. They never last long enough."
—"Thanks for teaching me magic, Himejima-san."
I said, making a subtle reference just to mess with Akeno.
—"Don't mention it. We're teammates, after all."
I recently started learning magic from Akeno.
Guns aren't really my thing.Feels wrong relying on them too much.
For now, I'm focusing on support magic.
I need to develop a spell that offsets the Boosted Gear's toll on my body.
If I can manage that, I might be able to use it more freely.
Anyway, I got permission to miss a few days of school.
Gonna scout out some fanfic-famous training locations—see if I can go from zero to OP like the good old days.
Also... hoping to run into Azazel.
I need that Twice Critical.
No way I'm stuffing a Divine Dividing gem into the Boosted Gear. Just… no.
So instead, I'll work with Twice Critical.
Thinking too far ahead? Maybe.
But hey—that's life.
