Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Obsession-The Mask Falls

> "There's a thin line between love and obsession...

And when love hides pain behind it, that line vanishes before you even realize."

---

Kartik thought Tanvi was getting better.

He believed his care, his support, his love… would heal her.

But Tanvi wasn't healing — she was just hiding it better.

What looked like love from the outside had turned into something darker inside.

Her affection had now morphed into dangerous obsession.

> "You're either mine… or no one's."

---

By the River — The Calm Before the Storm

That evening was peaceful.

The river was quiet. The breeze soft. Birds chirping somewhere far.

Kartik and Tanvi sat by the edge, side by side. He was checking a few messages.

Suddenly, Tanvi took his phone.

> "I need to talk to you… privately."

Her voice sounded calm — but her eyes? Something was off.

She unlocked his phone, started scrolling — WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat…

Kartik was confused. But he said nothing.

Then her eyes stopped.

---

The Trigger — "I'm Single"

A girl's name — Ardya.

Chats filled with jokes, flirty emojis… and one line:

> "Haha don't worry, I'm single "

Tanvi's face turned blank.

Her eyes? Empty. Lifeless.

She threw the phone at Kartik's chest.

> "What do you think I am? A joke to you?"

"Am I just a time-pass?"

Kartik couldn't utter a word.

> "That one line ruined everything. 'I'm single?' What the hell does that mean?"

"Is she crazy about you too?" — Her tone now sharp. Cold. Cutting.

---

The Dark Room — Her True Face

She grabbed Kartik's hand and dragged him back to the hostel.

Locked the door. Her hands clenched his phone.

One by one:

She blocked every girl.

Changed his profile picture — a couple photo of them.

Posted on Instagram: "He's mine. And always will be."

Then she looked into his eyes — not with love, but with control.

> "Next time you even talk to a girl like that… you'll be punished."

Kartik was frozen.

He had never seen this side of her.

Her gaze wasn't affectionate — it was possession. It was ownership.

---

"Sorry? No... Punishment."

> "Tanvi... I didn't mean it that way. Ardya is just my neighbour, she's in 12th grade."

"She asks for study tips… she has a crush, but I swear…"

"Please, Tanvi… believe me."

Tanvi smiled — but it wasn't a real smile.

> "Sorry means things can go back to normal.

But everything is already broken, Kartik... isn't it?"

She pulled open the drawer — and took out a blade.

Kartik's heart skipped.

> "Tanvi, what the hell—No!"

> "You didn't cheat on me.

But you made me afraid."

"So now, I'll give you pain…

So you'll never forget what Tanvi's love feels like."

She held his hand, raised the blade…

and carved a 'T' on his wrist — in blood.

Kartik couldn't even scream.

He was numb. In shock.

She picked up his phone.

Clicked a photo.

Posted on her story:

> "He's mine. Blood-sealed."

---

Crying Tanvi — Pain Behind Possession

Then suddenly… tears welled in her eyes.

She dropped to the floor… and screamed:

> "I know I'm losing my mind, Kartik."

"But I can't let you be someone else's."

"I can't see you with anyone else."

> "When you're hurt, I feel it too.

When I punish you… it's so I can suffer with you."

She took the same blade… and cut her own hand — deep.

Blood trickled down.

Kartik was panicking now.

> "Tanvi, stop! Please don't do this.

I'm yours. Only yours."

"I promise… I'll never even talk to another girl."

---

Kiss of Control

Tanvi looked up into Kartik's eyes.

They held fear — but also… a broken kind of love.

She gently cupped his face… and slowly kissed his lips.

> "Your promise shouldn't be about never leaving me.

It should be about staying away from every other girl."

"You are mine, Kartik. Only mine."

Kartik just nodded.

His mind… blank.

As if he had accepted an emotional prison.

---

End — The Silence of a Scared Heart

That kiss wasn't love.

It was a signature — the seal of obsession turning into control.

And Kartik?

He didn't realize yet...

The girl he once fell for in love —

Was now burying him... in her need to possess.
