The Meowth looked around for a second before finally seeing Liam and approaching him.
"Hey buddy," Liam said scratching the Meowth's chin, "Don't have any berries today sorry," Liam told to the Meowth.
When the Meowth heard that he started to turn around and head right back through the hole in the wall.
"Wait!" Liam whisper yelled, "I still need to check on you!" he said.
The Meowth stoped for a second, contemplated, then turned around and headed back to Liam.
With a sigh of relief Liam took his hand and placed it on Meowth's head coin.
It was warm, as it should be, Liam couldn't get an exact temperature due to not having a thermometer.
But the coin had stayed a constant heat for the few months that Liam has met with Meowth, meaning the temperature it was at was most likely fine.
The coin wasn't actually made of metal, it was actually a hollow bone structure that Meowth's circulate blood through to keep cool.
At least, that was Liam's best guess after the Meowth in front of him brought a dead Meowth to trade for berries a few weeks ago.
The body was good for research, but explaining to his mom why he had blood on him the day after was not fun.
After checking the coin Liam proceeded to pull out his notebook and jotted down Meowth's temperature.
Next, Liam flipped to a page with crude drawings of an Oran, Sitrus, and Razz berry, and a circle with the words "Not one of these" on it.
"Ok, which have these berries have you eaten lately?" Liam asked showing the berries to Meowth.
Meowth took his paw and hit the Oran and Sitrus berries.
"So no Razz berries," Liam commented putting that in his notes.
"Anything particularly out of the ordinary happened recently?" Liam asked.
"Meow" Meowth replied .
"No, ok ok," Liam mumbling while jotting it down, "And have you gotten hurt recently?" Liam asked.
"Meowth," Meowth admitted.
"Ah, so where did you get hurt?" Liam asked.
Meowth then picked up his back paw and showed a small scratch on his hind leg.
"Ok, simple scratch," Liam said, "Well that's all for me, I'll see if I can I'll grab a Razz berry for you tomorrow," Liam told Meowth while closing his notebook.
"Meowth Meowth!" Meowth responded happily.
Liam had a table of information on Meowth that he filled in each day with as much information as he could think of.
Liam didn't know if any of it connected to each other, or if the information would help him, but Liam gathered it anyways, just in case.
He also just found it very interesting how Pokemon work.
"Now where is the other little scamp," Liam said putting his hand through the hole and snapping his hand again.
After a few moments, a Castform floated through the hole.
This Castform was actually important to Liam, considering she can set the weather and is one of the things the Tempestas unintentionally pray too.
"How have you been?" Liam said to the Castform.
"Cast," she responded with a sad tone.
"I know it's hard not changing the weather every few days, but you've been very good lately," Liam told Castform.
"Form," Castform said sucking in some air before looking to the sky, "CASTFORM," she yelled at the sky.
"I know the sky seems kind of boring when your not switching between different weathers, but think about all the humans your not dooming to die," Liam said trying to keep Castform on the right path.
At least the path that leads to the least amount of human casualties.
"Cast," she said taking in some air, "Form," she said blowing it back out.
"Good, good," Liam said, "Now have you gotten the right amount of air?" Liam asked taking back out his notebook.
"Castform!" she said flying slightly upward.
The three balls that make up Castform seemed to be filled with air. Liam guessed that the bottom two were filled with hydrogen and the top when where his head it were filled with oxygen.
Though it was just a hypothesis, Liam didn't have anyway to check other than basically setting Castform on fire to see how the fire reacts.
Liam knew that Castform likes to 'eat' air from Castform trying to take the oxygen that Liam was breathing.
But due to Liam not knowing what Castform was definitely made off he filled in the chart with what little information he knew.
"So anything weird happened?" Liam asked going through his routine questions.
"Castform! Castform!" she said floating in a circle.
"Oh, what happened?" Liam asked.
"Castform!" she said going over to Meowth to tell him.
After telling him Meowth began to draw a circle in the dirt.
"Circle?" Liam wondered.
"Meow" Meowth said tapping the middle of the circle.
"Hole?" Liam guessed.
"Meowth!" he said happy that Liam got it.
Meowth then pointed into the sky.
"Sky," Liam mumbled, "Sky hole?" Liam asked.
"Castform!" she said flying in a circle again.
"There was a hole in the sky?" Liam asked double checking his answer.
"Castform," she responded.
"Well I'm sure it's nothing to worry about," Liam told them.
"Meowth?" he asked.
"Yes, and now I have to go, checking out the school tomorrow," Liam said getting up.
"Meowth," he said while going back through the hole in the wall.
"Castform!" she cried leaving through the hole as well.
After the two Pokemon left, Liam put back the rock back in the hole.
Liam then picked back up the stick and put in the dirt line and followed it back home.
When he got home Liam snuck back into the house, then back into his room. Liam then put his notebook and pencil underneath his bed.
Crawling into bed Liam thought about the hole in the sky Castform was talking about. Could it be a-
No, it couldn't, he wasn't in Alola, he thinks.
Closing his eyes and pushing the subject to the back of his mind Liam rationalized that it was some weird Pokemon move.
That's it, that's all.

"Wake up Liam," Mrs. Maestri said to wake up her son.
Liam could barely move around he was so tired.
"I have potato mochi for breakfast today," his mom said before leaving to the kitchen.
Suddenly, Liam felt much more awake than he previously was.
Liam proceeded to make his way to the kitchen where his mom was already eating some of the potato mochi that she make.
"How did you sleep?" Mrs. Maestri asked.
"Good," Liam muttered.
"Like every night?" his mom commented.
"Yes ma'am," Liam said grabbing a piece of potato mochi, "Thank you," he says while taking a bite.
"No problem," his mom said, "But can you say anything else than Yes ma'am?" Mrs. Maestri asked.
"Yes ma'am," Liam said taking another bite of the mochi.
"Remember you have an open house for school today," his mom reminded Liam.
The open house for the school was less about having students tour the school, and more about making sure that the students could get to the school.
"Yes ma'am," Liam said before taking the last bite of his mochi and heading into his room to get changed.
"I love you," his mom said.
"Love you too mom," Liam said before closing the door.
