Darren took the elevator up to the second floor, the polished walls reflecting his calm, determined expression. The bass of the club throbbed faintly below, a reminder of the night's energy but also a contrast to the tense atmosphere awaiting him.
Outside the VIP lounge, a large, dark wood door stood closed. Darren knocked once firmly.
After a moment, the door swung open to reveal a tall, sharply dressed man in his early forties with piercing eyes that seemed to weigh Darren in an instant.
"You must be the young businessman stirring up the scene downstairs," the man said smoothly, voice low but authoritative. "I'm Marcus Voss — owner of Elysium."
Darren nodded, stepping inside. "I've heard a lot about you. And I'm here because I see potential for mutual benefit."
Marcus smiled thinly, eyes glinting with interest. "That's rare to hear around here. What's your proposal?"
Darren pulled out his tablet, displaying financial projections and plans for a series of events and collaborations between Kairos and Elysium.
"This club is a hub for the city's elite. Together, we can turn it into a powerhouse for business and influence — with me handling strategic investments and marketing, and you providing the venue and connections."
Marcus studied the screen, then looked back at Darren. "Ambitious. I like it. But ambition alone won't keep you standing in this city. You'll need more than money — you'll need allies."
Darren's smile sharpened. "I'm building those too. Starting tonight."
Marcus nodded slowly. "Then let's talk details."
