Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Her brow was beaded with sweat; she couldn't bring herself to accept the fact that the man she had claimed to love all these years was the mastermind behind all her misfortunes. She was so confused but at the same time guilty. This was the same man she had vehemently backed when her parents had objected to their union. "Mom, dad, this is Cassiel. Cassiel Ferguson. He's my boyfriend and....., we might be getting married anytime soon." Georgia said, introducing Cassiel to her parents. The look on the faces of Mr and Mrs Kingsbury showed nothing but disgust, clearly stating their objection before uttering any statement. "Georgy." Bruce softly called,"can I talk to you aside for a moment?" He continued. "Daddy, I came along with him," Georgia said indicating Cassiel," so anything you want to say has to be said in our presence right here." She firmly stated. "Okay, if you say so. My stance on this union is very clear; I profusely object to it." Bruce said. "Daddy, you can't do this. You can't tell me what to do at my age. I'm old enough to make my own choices but it was out of reverence for you that I seeked to inform you about my relationship with him." Georgia said furiously. Bruce just smiled to himself, thinking,"The little girl who used to run around and play with me is now claiming to be old enough to make choices without my consent." "How old are you?" Bruce asked and Victoria nudged him in the waist; she knew what it was leading to and tried to avoid that even though she agreed with her husband. "I'm 23, in my final year in college and old enough to get married to anyone I want to get married to." Georgia stated further. "You're still young. Try furthering your education; remember your dream of becoming the most renowned female technological guru in the world as a child, you can go on to achieve it." Victoria pleaded with her daughter. "My mind was already made up before coming here, whether you like it or not, I'm getting married to Cassiel!" Georgia said. The couple realized that their daughter had made up her mind already so they left her to be but they didn't give their consent. "If you ever get married to this guy you'll cease to be my daughter." Bruce said when Georgia and Cassiel were about to exit the house. A look of triumph was written on Bruce's face;he knew the positive impact those words would have on her.

"Cassiel, how could you do this to me?" Georgia asked when she found her voice to speak. "Hahaha, you were foolish enough to put all your trust in me and even go against your parents; you are so immature." Cassiel remarked. Georgia couldn't believe her ears. The man who used to talk to her in a calm and sweet voice was now speaking in a cold and wicked tone. "I'll have to admit that as wise as I knew your parents said to you was, they were inadvertently distracting my plans, so you know, I just did them the favor of not having to banter about our relationship." Cassiel said, a wry smile forming on his face. "What are you trying to say? What do you mean?" Georgia asked with a voice filled with terror. "It seems this has to be said in plain language to you. I killed your parents. I eliminated them for their own good. They don't deserve to have a daughter who'd give them constant headaches because of a man besides, if they hadn't opposed our relationship, they'll still be having fucking breath in them!" Cassiel blasted. Georgia couldn't believe her ears again. "Cassiel? The masterplanner and orchestrater of the death of my parents?" Georgia thought. She stood transfixed to where she was standing. A train of thoughts were just going through her mind. While she was still lost in thought, she heard a very familiar voice yelling out her name but she was so engrossed in her thoughts that she ignored the voice. "Georgia! Georgia! Georgiaaaaa! Watch out!" The voice yelled but before Georgia could make anymore, she felt numb all over her body and slumped on to the floor. She couldn't breathe well and she felt her spirit going into the metaphysical realm.

"Welcome home, my daughter!" A very old man with grey hair and bushy beard and eyebrows said to Georgia. "Where am I?" Georgia asked, alarmed. "You are at the very place you're supposed to be. Don't fret about anything; you're safe here." The old man assured. The new place were Georgia found herself had an aura of natural beauty, peace and freshness about it. Even though it was not like her world where there were large houses and buildings almost everywhere, her world was not comparable to where she was now. "Georgia, don't listen to him. This is not where you belong to. Your time is not up yet." Georgia turned to have a look at the person talking to her. It was Bruce. She ran so fast to embrace her long lost father that she almost toppled onto the ground with him. "Daddy, I'm very sorry for not listening to you. I blindly and selfishly followed that 'murderer' that I forsook your advice. I'm really sorry." Georgia pleaded, tears freely falling down her cheeks. Bruce embraced his daughter once again and said to her,"It wasn't your fault, that was your first time in love so it is understandable because things like this happen. The person to be blamed is that 'monster' who tricked you into falling in love with him for his personal gains." Bruce said. Georgia briskly nodded her head in agreement to the statement made while still in her father's embrace. "You need to go back to your own world. You have to go back to get just for us. Jessie also needs you very much." Bruce said to her. At the mention of 'justice', Georgia became fiery. "Yes. I need to go back and fight for justice for us all. I can't let that man go scott free. I also have to achieve my childhood dream of becoming the world's most renowned female technological guru." Georgia said to her father. "Yes, I love that spirit. I'll be with you in any endeavor you take. You shall succeed in whatever challenge that lay before you in this tough journey. Now go back! Go back!" Bruce exclaimed.

"Doctor, she's moving!" Jessie shouted out loud. She was weeping over her sister who was about to be proclaimed dead because of no sign of life in her after a whole good month. She mostly spent her time thinking about the demise of all her immediate family and couldn't bear the fact that she was left alone in this cruel world without anyone to care about her. Therefore it was a relief for her when she saw her sister moving her hand; at least, there was hope. The doctor hurriedly made his way to the Out Patient Department of St. Martin's Hospital where Georgia lay. By the time he got there, Georgia was fully awake and showed no sign of weakness. She even went further to climb out of the bed and walk around the ward. The doctor diagnosed Georgia and affirmed that nothing was wrong with her so she could be discharged. "This is the beginning of a new era if revenge against the 'monster'!" Georgia said while Jessie drove back home.
