"Do you think I am fine?" Fenja asked to one of the warriors who escorted her to the restaurant in the highest floor of this building. She remembered his name was Dax.
"You look fine," Dax replied softly.
Fenja bit her lip. "If I did something silly, please tell me."
Dax chuckled. "You are fine, you only need to be relaxed."
"Back in my former pack, there is no building as tall as this." Fenja felt really good to have someone to talk too.
"But, I bet that place must be very nice, more peaceful and less crowded like in the capital city. Not to mention the refreshing air there."
Fenja widened her eyes in shock. "How do you know that? You are right!"
"I went to your pack in the previous alphas meeting," Dax informed her. "Congratulation to win the battle against the Winterbreeze pack, those people are really greedy."
Winterbreeze pack had been a trouble pack for years now. Because Silver Moon pack was the smallest pack among them, they thought they could expand their territory by annexed them.
They talked about that a little bit more, but from their conversation, obviously Dax didn't know Fenja was the former luna of Silver Moon pack.
And when they reached their floor, the warriors escorted her to her table. It was close to the glass wall, where she could see the entire city from there.
"This is so beautiful," Fenja said breathlessly.
In Fenja's mind, her night would end up with a pleasant conversation and a full stomach. The top of the building displayed the beautiful side of the city light.
However, she was slightly nervous because she didn't know what she wanted to talk about or how their conversation would turn out, yet she was in dire need to talk with someone.
She had spent so long not to have someone to talk to, therefore it would be nice to have a light conversation with the alpha.
After struggling in this city for months and she only saw the bad side of this place, Fenja was in awed to see the city light from this beautiful, fancy restaurant.
Unfortunately, her night ended not as she expected.
Her stomach was full and she enjoyed the scenery, but the alpha never came, even after she waited for four hours and her food turned cold, alpha Jaxon didn't come.
"Dax, can we go home? Should I wait?" Fenja approached Dax and Ganter's table, they looked at her with pity, but there was nothing else they could do, but to ask a waiter to warm her food.
And now, Fenja had eaten all the food, she was a little bit sleepy and… disappointed.
She wanted to go back to the pack house and take off the dress. The accessories on her body felt a little bit heavy. She wanted to rest.
"I am sorry, Fenja," Dax said. "I have been trying to find out where the alpha is, can you please wait for another ten minutes?"
They couldn't get her back home without the alpha's permission. Just in case, the alpha suddenly came and Fenja was not here, they would be in a great trouble, since there was not an order for them to leave the restaurant.
"Oh, okay…" Fenja smiled at him. She felt embarrassed with the way they looked at her with pity. This was a very uncomfortable feeling and she felt very bad. Her mood had turned sour long time ago.
If she could, she would rather sit with Dax and Ganter. She wouldn't even mind about the fact the alpha ditched her in their dinner.
But, sitting here alone was very pathetic.
Fenja stared at the window again and this time the city light was not as beautiful as she saw it for the first time, somehow, they looked rather gloomy.
But, suddenly, someone tapped her shoulder, she thought it was Dax or Ganter, telling her that it was time for her to leave.
Sadly, it was not them, it was a man, who was probably in his early thirty, who approached Fenja. He was smiling at her.
"I saw you sitting alone here. I thought those two men over there are your friend, why don't you join them and chose to sit alone here?" He asked, he looked at Fenja up and down, which made her uncomfortable.
"I am sorry, but I am waiting for someone."
"How long you have been waiting for your date? You have been sitting here since I came, which must be more than three hours by now."
"I am not waiting for my date… I am waiting for my friend." Fenja wanted to approach Dax and Ganter again, but the two of them seemed busy talking to someone on the phone.
"There is no way, you are waiting for a friend in a place like this and with this set up," he said with a laugh, flicking his finger at the flower in the middle of the table. "So, which family do you come from?"
Fenja furrowed her brows. "Please, leave," she asked politely, but that man didn't want to listen. Instead, he fished out his name card and placed it on the table for her to see.
"Let's get to know each other," he said. "You look so beautiful with that dress, it will be their lose if they didn't see you now. Why don't we make the best of it?" he suggested.
Fenja wanted to have someone to talk to, having a light conversation, but she didn't like this man.
Thankfully, Dax came to get her. He looked at the man sternly and helped Fenja to stand up, he held her elbow, placing himself between her and that man.
"Let's go."
That was the only thing that Dax said, as he took her away from the restaurant and when that man wanted to stop them, Ganter stepped in to block him.
Ganter had this very tall body, probably his height was close to two meters tall with bulky muscles, of course, he looked very intimidating.
