Chapter 3 - Overcoming Wu Li

The residents of Qingshi Town saw that Wanbei was going to challenge the people from another town to a fight, and they all happily watched it as a spectacle.

Although they didn't know that Zhanbei had already reached the level of a warrior, they knew that Zhanbei was the most persevering young man in the town.

The residents were whispering to each other. They all knew the significance of this fight and were all looking forward to the battle against Bei.

After all, his performance is related to the honor of the entire town.

A middle-aged man was followed by a 18-year-old young man.

It seems that this time the opponent of the contest is him.

"This is my disciple Wu Li. Due to his youth, he lost a battle to his senior fellow student. I've heard that in your Qingshi Town, people don't favor martial arts and usually focus on the arts. Therefore, I would like to ask you to sell your quota to me. I will surely offer sufficient gifts. Thank you all very much."

In Lingwu Continent, martial arts are highly revered. The tradition of practicing martial arts is widespread throughout the entire continent. Therefore, Master Zhang's so-called "exchange of quotas" was actually an attempt to belittle the people of Qingshi Town.

The people of Qingshi Town glared angrily. They never expected that Master Zhang could be so shameless.

As for Wu Li, he was the young disciple of Zhang the martial artist and had great talent.

At this moment, Wu Li, who was hiding behind Zhang the boxer, had a stern expression. His gaze was very unpleasant and he was staring fixedly at Zhan Bei.

" I heard that Wu Li has considerable strength. I wonder if Zhan Bei can win." A passerby said worriedly.

"Don't worry. This kid from Zhànbei has been practicing hard since childhood. He will definitely win!" Another passerby replied with confidence.

"I hope Zhanbei can teach this guy a lesson. I really don't like the way he looks at me..."

The residents of Qingshi Town were engaged in heated discussions.

"Little Bei, although he is older than you, his aura is flimsy, as if he has just broken through. Your Tiger Roar Fist should be able to defeat him. Be careful not to be careless!"

Yuan Lei gave instructions to Zhan Bei.

On the square of Qingshi Town, a large crowd had gathered, all of them eager to witness this fierce battle that would determine the outcome of the competition.

Zhanbei stood on the arena, his gaze sharp, fixed intently on Wu Li on the other side.

Wu Li was of a sturdy build and had a stern face, with a disdainful glint in his eyes.

It was obvious that he didn't take attacking Beihai seriously.

"Humph, kid, you'd better just admit defeat. Otherwise, you'll suffer physical pain." Wu Li sneered coldly, his tone filled with arrogance.

When Zhanbei heard this, he curled his lips into a sneer and said, "Do you think you can make me admit defeat? You don't deserve it!"

When Wu Li heard this, his face darkened and he shouted angrily, "You are asking for trouble!"

Saying this, he immediately launched an attack on the enemy.

He charged towards Zhanbei like a fierce beast, his fists roaring as if intent on tearing Zhanbei to pieces.

Zhanbei's figure flickered, and he effortlessly dodged Wu Li's attack. Taking the opportunity, he launched a counterattack, delivering a punch straight at Wu Li's chest.

"BANG!" The fists collided. Wu Li was pushed back several steps by the punch from Zhan Bei, and his face turned a little pale.

"Great!" The audience erupted into cheers. They had never expected that this usually unassuming fighter named Wanbei would possess such extraordinary strength.

They were all deeply impressed by the strength of the Northern Army.

Wu Li steadied himself and a glimmer of surprise flashed across his eyes.

He never expected that the strength of Zhanbei was so formidable. It was completely unlike that of a martial artist who had just reached the warrior stage. The strength Zhanbei demonstrated made him have to reevaluate the young man before him.

"Kid, you do have some skills. But do you really think you can defeat me this way? You're too naive!" Wu Li snorted coldly and charged towards Zhan Bei again.

This time, he no longer took things lightly. Instead, he launched his attack with all his might. The fists roared, the fist shadows swirled, as if intent on drowning out the enemy in this sea of fist shadows.

Zhanbei's face was grave. He knew he couldn't be careless. His figure moved like the wind, dodging and weaving to constantly evade Wu Li's attacks. At the same time, he was also looking for an opportunity to counterattack.

Finally, during one of the evasions, Zhanbei spotted Wu Li's weakness. He seized the opportunity to launch a counterattack.

"Hawk's Roar Fist!"

A punch was thrown directly at Wu Li's abdomen.

"Bang!" There was a deafening crash. Wu Li was knocked off balance by Zhan Bei's punch and fell heavily onto the ring.

"Win! Win!" The audience erupted into cheers. Team Bei successfully won this fight.

Wu Li struggled to get up from the ground, his face filled with resentment and anger. He looked at Zhan Bei, his eyes gleaming with maliciousness, and said: "Kid, you wait here. I won't let you go!"

When Zhanbei heard this, he merely gave him a cold look and said, "I'm ready to wait for you!"

When the middle-aged martial artist Zhang saw this, his eyebrows knitted together. He was well aware that his disciple Wu Li had a stubborn personality. This failure was undoubtedly a huge blow to him.

But he also realized that Wu Li was not weak at all. It was merely his carelessness and overconfidence that led to the failure today.

"Wu Li, let's go!" Master Zhang growled and turned around, leading Wu Li away from the arena.

They looked particularly desolate. However, the shadows seemed like venomous snakes, coiling along the roads of Qingshi Town.

"Master Yuan, I've won!"

Yuan Lei walked up to Zhanbei and a smile of satisfaction appeared on his face. He patted Zhanbei's shoulder and said, "You did a great job, Zhanbei. You didn't let me down."

Zhanbei respectfully bowed and said, "Thank you very much for your teachings, Master Yuan."

Yuan Lei's gaze turned to the residents of Qingshi Town present. His voice was loud and filled with pride: "Everyone, Zhanbei not only won us the recommendation slot for Shuo Fang Martial Arts Academy, but also proved his own strength! He is the pride of our Qingshi Town!"

The residents all burst into applause and cheers, expressing their deep admiration for the soldiers fighting against the enemy.

Standing on the arena, Zhanbei was bathed in the applause and praise from the crowd, but his heart was extremely calm.

He knew that this was merely the beginning of his martial arts journey; the real challenges lay ahead.

Yuan Lei looked at Zhan Bei, his eyes shining with satisfaction and anticipation.

He whispered to Zhanbei, "Zhanbei, although you have won this fight, you must not become arrogant. The path of martial arts is long and arduous. You need to constantly improve yourself if you want to go further."

Zhanbei nodded solemnly and said, "Master Yuan, I understand. I will keep working hard to improve my skills and will never let you or everyone down."

Yuan Lei smiled contentedly and then announced the result of the competition. He officially awarded the recommendation position of Shifang Martial Arts College to Zhanbei.

Zhanbei took the recommendation letter and his heart was filled with excitement.

He knew that this was an important step for him to advance to a higher level of martial arts.

The residents of Qingshi Town gradually dispersed, but deep impressions remained in their hearts.

In the following days, Zhanbei practiced even more diligently. Not only did he continue to refine the Tiger Roar Fist, but he also began to attempt to learn other martial arts techniques...
