Chapter 1 - UNFORTUNATE EVENT

Decade of Chaos: Year 2032

Halcyon Reach, GrandHeart Hospital.

Tara: "Arghhh!" (screams in agony)

Nurse 1: "Push, Tara, keep pushing! You're almost there!"

Tara: (through gritted teeth) "What the fuck do you think I'm doing?!"

Nurse 2: "More towels, she's losing too much blood!"

Nurse 1: "Here!" (hands over towels quickly)

Husband: "Shit, my phone's dead! I'll be right back!" (kisses Tara's forehead and bolts out of room, bumping shoulders into someone at hallway and apologizing briefly before getting towards his car)

Doctor: "You're so close, Tara. Just a few more pushes!"

Nurse 1: "The baby's coming!"

Tara: (screams louder) "I can't…" (takes a deep, shuddering breath) "…do this!"

Nurse 2: (gently) "You're doing great. One last push!"

(Moments later, the room fills with the sharp cries of a newborn.)

Nurse 1: (smiling) "It's a boy! He looks just like his father."

Nurse 2: "But those eyes… just like his mother's."

(The baby abruptly stops crying. His pupil shift to a haunting yellow; his sclera turn sky blue and it's lens grow darker. Blood begins dripping from his eyes.)

Tara: (weakly) "Can I… can I hold him?"

Doctor: (hesitant) "Latifa? Naomi?"

(He notices the nurses frozen in place, their skins drained of color.)

Doctor: "What the!" (gasps in horror as he sees the nurses' shriveled bodies collapse to the floor, lifeless.)

(The doctor reaches for the baby but screams as his body rapidly desiccates, collapsing into a dried husk.)

(Tara faints as the baby crawls onto the footboard of her bed.)

Baby (Amorald): "Mu… mu… mummy, make it… make it… make it stop. I'll make it stop"

Security Guard 1: (bursting into the room) "Holy shit! Amorald! Sound the alarm!"

(A guard smashes the emergency alarm. Three security officers open fire, but the baby moves unnaturally fast, dodging every bullet.)

The nurses move carefully and slowly towards tara.

Security Guard 2: "It's too quick!" (reloads his gun)

(Before he can fire, the amorald's finger nails turn metallic grey adding about 5 inches in length, the baby lunges, sinking metallic claws into Guard 1's neck. Blood sprays as the guard's head hits the floor.)

(Guard 2 reloads frantically as he's about to shoot, the amorald's mouth is seen suckling the barrel of the pistol. The security guard stares in utter shock and horror. Regardless of being overwhelmed by fear, he hysterically fires multiple shots blasting its little head open exposing a horrific scene as bits of brain matter splatter across the room. Tara wakes to the chaos, her eyes widening in terror.)

Tara: "My baby!" (screams, tears streaming down her face)

(The amorald regenerates instantly, its head reforming as it lets out a sinister chuckle. It gouges out Guard 2's eyes with a swift motion. The last guard slips on the blood-soaked floor and falls as he turns to make a run for it…)

(As the amorald leaps toward him, a blade intercepts its strike.)

Agent: "Sorry I'm late." (eyes the carnage) "Five dead already…"

Agent: (to the nurses) "Get her out of here!"

(The nurses begin wheeling Tara out as the baby splits into two identical forms, both attacking the agent with ferocious speed.)

Agent: "It's fast." (blocks their metallic claws with his twin swords, sparks flying as steel clashes against the blades.)

(Seizing an opening, the agent slices one clone into pieces and impales the other through its chest, pinning it to the wall.)

Agent: (making the sign of the cross) "Be blessed, and return to peace, little one."

He sheathes his swords. Turning around he is met with an unease and a thought comes in mind, he realizes…

Agent: , It's still here… where? Where? < His eyes moving erratically across the ward in search for the amorald>

Agent: (muttering) "It didn't burn… it's still here."

(The nurses almost reach the exit when Tara's husband rushes in, his phone in hand.)

Husband: (stunned) " Tara! Tara! Was is it—"

Agent: Under!

(Before he can finish, the baby emerges from under the wheelchair, slitting his throat in a swift motion. Blood sprays as he collapses at Tara's feet.)

Tara: "Kylian!" (screams in anguish, her voice cracking)

(The baby sinks its claws into her thigh, eliciting a weak cry from her as blood pools beneath her wheelchair.)

Agent: "You foul demon."

(He takes a step back, unsheathes both his swords. Electricity crackles around his boots, the amorald shrieks and charges towards him, he lunges forwards and with a powerful swing, he decapitates the baby's head and slices off both of its legs. He drives his sword through its chest, pinning it to a glass door. Black flames engulf the baby, its cries echoing through the room and hospital hallway before fading to silence.)

Agent: (solemnly) "Be blessed."

(The room falls eerily quiet. Tara sits in her wheelchair, her vacant stare fixed on the abyss, as it stares back into her shattered mind. Her husband's lifeless body lies in a crimson pool. Her baby's dismembered, burning corpse hangs before her. The agent lifts her gently and carries her out of the hospital.)

AMORALD INFANTICIDE

Babies are often seen as the pride of a parent, a precious gift,a symbol of hope and new beginnings. But what happens when a baby is born with the certainty of being a harbinger of destruction?

Since the dawn of humanity, children have been celebrated as blessings, the joy of life's promise. But what if the newborn you hold in your arms is destined to bring forth an unimaginable calamity? A child whose very existence will tear apart the fabric of reality, unleashing a catastrophe beyond comprehension? A mother giving birth to a demon, her innocent child condemned to wreak havoc on a universal scale. What then?

This is where the Universal Amorald Exterminators (UAE) step in.

Founded in 1993, the UAE is the last line of defense against the havoc caused by Amoralds, beings born with the potential to unravel the world. Tasked with eradicating these 'devil spawn' before they can unleash devastation, the Infantors—elite agents with supernatural abilities—operate in secrecy. Using advanced tools to predict and intervene in these births, sometimes a week in advance or to the very moment of conception, they remain invisible to the public, yet ever-present in their duty acting as both protector and executioner, but what is simple in concept becomes a deadly and unyielding mission in practice

A noble cause? Or a dangerous mission where morality has no place?

With time itself at their disposal, the UAE ensures that humanity is spared from a fate too terrible to recover from. Their mission is a necessary one, but at what cost? As emotions and personal attachments collide with duty, the lines between right and wrong blur. What happens when the agents tasked with saving the world from destruction are forced to confront their own beliefs, their own doubts?

Can the world survive the truth?

As the population dwindles and the threat of the Amoralds grows, humanity teeters on the edge of extinction. Will the UAE continue to uphold their dark duty, or will the monstrous children they kill become more than just instruments of doom? The answers lie in the balance between survival and morality and the choices that will determine if humanity will see another day or vanish in the chaos of its own making.

3 Years Later

Decade of Chaos: Year 2035

Central Ravokar, UAE Headquarters

1st Floor, North Central Hall

Lander: Five rules govern the fabric of this world…our survival hinges on them. Break one, and a calamity is inevitable.

Rule One - An Infantor cannot have a child of their own.

Rule Two - An Infantor must not handle missions within their home district.

Rule Three - An Infantor must never abandon a mission, no matter the consequences.

Rule Four - Monthly or bi-monthly vaccinations are mandatory to remove Amorald radiance.

Rule Five - Prevention is better than cure—we must avert disasters before they occur.

That concludes the debriefing. Regiment 66, stay behind.

Jonathan: Another endless lecture. Honestly, Mikey, do we have to endure this every time a new regiment is brought in? Torture, I must say!

Mikel: A little reminder never hurts. Dogs stray when the leash is loosened.

Jonathan: That's harsh, don't you think?

Mikel: Is it?

Jonathan: Urgh, you're always so serious. When's our next mission? Feels like ages since I got one…or is my radar broken? [taps his radar]

Mikel: I'm on a solo mission now, only here for the debriefing. I head out tomorrow.

Jonathan: A solo mission without me? Unfair! Guess I'd better rank up soon. I can't let you leave me behind.

Mikel: This one is only solo because it's within your district and I didn't request for another infantor and Jonathan…you already are at Ul X.

Jonathan: [eyes widen] I am?!

Mikel: Yes, Jonathan. Four years now.

Jonathan: [laughs nervously] Four years? I don't keep track of these things. So, did you decline others because they weren't me? Admit it, you missed me!

Mikel: [grunts, throwing on his cloak]

Jonathan: Any idea which side of town this mission is located? Haven't seen anyone pregnant around my side.Probably far off from where I reside.

Mikel: Yeah probably farther off. [pauses, glancing back over his shoulder]

Jonathan: Right, I'm off to my room. Good luck, Mikey—no casualties.

Mikel: No casualties.

Jonathan: Oh, Mikey. You ever hear of Pedd?

Mikel: Pedd? Who's that?

Jonathan: Never mind. Later, boneman! [waves]

REGIMENT 66 CLASS

Lander: Welcome to UAE Regiment 66. As I said earlier, the Five Core Rules are paramount, but there are others.

Balone: [groans] More rules? I thought it's as simple as we just kill newborn devils.

Gordon: Watch your words—they're not devils. Just… victims of circumstance.

Balone: Huh?

Lander: That's enough. [takes a deep breath]. We have other subsidiary rules, I'll go over them briefly

Balone: Huhhh more briefs, this brief is now getting to be more of a series.

Lander: < Looks at him as she continues> Infantors must remain in stealth until an amorald birth is confirmed. Minimize human casualties—ideally, none. Missions are assigned in groups of four, three, two, or solo, based on skill and mission difficulty. Exceptions: Code H.O.E.

Balone: Four people for one baby? Sounds like overkill. Isn't that too much Miss scaredy pants, this is starting to look like a pussy organization

Lander: [ignores him]

Gordon: Code H.O.E?

Lander: Hell on earth. Missions typically last one to two weeks. A week before delivery for observation, and another week post-delivery for delayed cases. Missions end with the Amorald's extermination.

Balone: Stalkers and pussies. What's next?

Lander: Do you have a problem, boy O?

Balone: Yeah. This isn't a "brief" at all!

[Laughter spreads through Regiment 66]

Lander: Your name?

Balone: Balone. Balone Va…

Lander: Ah-ah-ah. No second names here. Pick up your radars. Your first missions will be assigned tomorrow, in groups of ten. Your radar also guides you to your dorm, tracks mission locations, and acts as your stealth device. Keep it charged at all times.

Bonnie: Isn't ten members too crowded? You said missions are in smaller teams.

Lander: Excellent observation. But for your first mission, trust me…ten won't feel like enough, you'd be better off if there were 10 more on your team-Rest up. Starting tomorrow there isn't enough time for sleep. Sixty six do not get deviated in your line of work, your only guarantee is death. Luck runs out tonight.

Curry: Code Hell on Earth? That sounds insane.

Lander: Pray you never hear "Code" in your duty. Now, off to bed.

Regiment 66: Yes, ma'am.

JOHNATHAN'S DORM

10:07 PM

Jonathan lies down, lost in thought.

Jonathan (thinking): I wonder how they're doing. Hope everything works out. [Mikel's words echo: "It's within your district, Jonathan."] and he falls asleep.

11:37 PM

His radar beeps, waking him up from his nap

As he suits up, he steps into the hallway to find Lander waiting.

Jonathan: Punctual to death as always, Linda.

Lander: It's Lander now, Jonathan. Only you call me Linda.

Jonathan: Lander Linda sounds the same to me, alright let's get going!

Lander: - This job feels… off.

Jonathan: Hmm your intuition has always been the best, when we get there, we'll figure it out. Those recruits seemed promising today, willpower was in the air., they would make it back Linda, go easy on yourself.

Lander: Will and determination, is that really enough… Kimo had all of that didn't she?

Jonathan: Kimo's death wasn't anyone's fault, no one expected a deviant

Lander brings out a smoke and Jonathan lights it for her as they proceed to their destination

Gondo looks around: He glances at his radar again.

Northwest Ravokar,

Balzamiite Street, Agostha Hospital.

6:25 AM

Regiment 66B arrives at Agosta Hospital.

Gordon: "The mother's name is Rachel. She's been admitted due to prior complications with her pregnancy. Apparently, the father wants the best conditions possible for a safe delivery. We'll be observing her here for the next week until the mission concludes.

Balone: "Huh, safe delivery for a devil's spawn? Hahaha. We'll safely deliver it back to hell where it came from."

Brandon: "That's enough, Balone. No more of this nonsense. Even if it's a demon, someone's child will be killed. At least have some sympathy for the mother."

Balone: "Sympathy? Do you think these monsters have remorse or guilt for the lives they'd take if we didn't stop them? I'll say what I want when I want, bald fry." (He thinks to himself: )

Brandon: "What did you just say?"

Balone: "You heard me. Or are you not just bald, but also a dumb potato?"

Brandon: "That's it—I've had enough of you!"

Balone: "Bring it on, tough guy. Just don't think you're up against a baby this time."

Christine (to Helen): "Hey, shouldn't we do something?"

Helen: "Get in the middle of a gorilla brawl? Suit yourself."

Trixie: "Hahaha, Helen just called them gorillas."

Brandon and Balone: "What?!"

Helen: "No, no! I didn't say anything!" (punches Trixie)

Amar: "Enough, both of you. We're here to observe, not cause a commotion."

Brandon: (grumbling) "I don't have time for the likes of you."

Balone: "Better watch your back, or you might end up like hot ketchup."

Gordon: "Thank you, Amar."

Curry: "Gordon, we should survey the hospital in pairs and rendezvous back here in three hours. We can't leave any surprises."

Gordon: "Good idea. Balone, Brandon, Trixie, and Gondo with me. We'll cover the ground to the third floor. Amar, Curry, Christine, Helen, and Lione handle the fourth floor and above."

Lione: "Be discreet everyone, please."

Northeast Ravokar,

Barnabel Street, C3 23.

Ruth's Home

7:32 AM

Mikel arrives at the home of his target, Ruth. He observes her through the window as she takes pills and drinks a glass of water.

8:16 AM

Mikel: (He moves stealthily around the house.)

Ruth touches her belly and heads to her bedroom, preparing for the delivery of her child.

Southeast Ravokar: Plasma Hospital

8:54 AM

Jonathan and Lander are dropped off by Harmajiki.

Jonathan: "Ugh, that took forever."

Lander: "Probably because you kept stopping for batteries and radar parts."

Jonathan: "It's been broken since my last mission! Besides…" (points at her nose) "You stopped for cigarettes. How do you still have better lung capacity than me?"

Lander: "Maybe that's the secret." (lights a cigarette)

Jonathan: "No thanks. Something feels off…I need my senses sharp. Unlike you, of course, who somehow gets sharper with every puff. Let's finish this quickly."

9:01 AM

They enter Plasma Hospital.

Lander: "Hmm. Residuals."

Jonathan: "An Amorald? Already here?"

Lander: "Here or gone. Can't tell. The trace is faint, but something definitely happened."

Unknown: (Menacingly) "Wonderful. She's good… I'll need hers."

INFORMATION:

1. Afterbirth Phenomenon: Mothers pass out for 1-3 minutes after giving birth to an Amorald.

2. Amoralds' Limits: Amoralds cannot harm their mothers through their KA.TAR (powers) unless they are Emoralds, deviants or cause unintentional physical harm.

3. Emoralds: Advanced Amoralds who gain consciousness, understand emotions, and develop absolute-zero empathy or negative emotions.

Plasma Hospital

Midnight

Jonathan and Lander survey the hospital's dimly lit halls.

Jonathan: "Look at this. Says Lilian is listed as an only parent. The father… suicide a few months ago. Self-immolation."

Lander: "That's tragic. Expecting a baby and then… that."

Jonathan: "Think there's foul play?"

Lander: "Maybe. But things like this are common these days. Fear."

Jonathan: "Even if there is, we're not detectives. Not our job. Let's head to the labor room."

Lander exhales deeply, taking out another cigarette.

AGOSTA HOSPITAL

Helen: "Damn Trixie, trying to pin those meatheads on me."

Christine: laughs "Almost had you running scared. Not afraid of the boys, are you?"

Helen: "Afraid? I could take two of them with my eyes closed."

Christine: "Aren't they a little too big for you?"

Helen: "Big? Ha! I've seen worse."

Curry cuts in.

Curry: "All clear here"

Amar: "Same here. We should head back"

Christine: "Hey ummm, Lionel"

Lione: "Lione. What is it?"

Christine: "So, we are going to be on survey for about a week, what do you plan on doing…during the time we are here for the week… for the survey that is?"

Lione: "What everyone else is doing, surveying."

Christine: whispers to Lione "Hey, what do you plan to do after the mission?"

Lione: "Report to HQ. Why?"

Trixie snickers from the side.

Trixie: "Dense."

PLASMA HOSPITAL

12:05 AM

Jonathan and Lander walk toward the delivery room when they sense a weak pressure leak.

Jonathan: urgently "Did you feel that?"

Lander: "Yeah."

They burst into the delivery room to find a lifeless baby in the doctor's arms.

They proceed to off their stealth plane.

The doctors gasp in shock at the sight of the sudden materialization of the agents beside him, he quickly composes himself as he recognizes the UAE insignia

Jonathan: "It's dead."

Doctor: "Stillborn. The baby was anencephalic, missing parts of its brain and spinal tissue. It couldn't survive."

Lander's gaze shifts to Lilian, pale and weak in her bed, the table beside her toppled, a stack of newly folded newspapers lying nearby."

Lander: "Where are its brains?"

Doctor: "There weren't any."

Lander: to Jonathan, softly "Something's off."

Jonathan: "Thank you Doc. Let it go, Linda. We're done here."

Lander: "But…"

Jonathan: "Let's report to HQ. This one's over."

Lander: "John…"

Johnathan: "Linda! This is part of the job, we can't always know what to expect, anything can happen... This amorald mission is over! Missions always have unpredictable predicaments, yes! it's always good to keep our senses sharp but there's nothing here we are done!"

Lander: "That's what I'm..."

He notices her hesitation.

Jonathan: "It's not your fault, Linda. You have to stop carrying the past with you… Stop blaming yourself for Kimo. It's been 12 years."

Lander: "I didn't even say anything concerning… "

Lander kisses her lips and silently lights a cigarette.

Lander: quietly "Alright, Leader."

Jonathan: "There's somewhere else I need to be. Report the mission status to HQ for me. Goodbye, Linda."

He reaches for the door but pauses, turns around and hugs her briefly, then dashes out the door and down the hallway.

Lander glances back at Lilian, surrounded by doctors and nurses working frantically to calm the distraught woman. With a heavy sigh, she turns to the window, placing her hand against the cool glass as she lights a cigarette.

Through the pane, she sees Jonathan burst out of the hospital entrance. A sudden flash of lightning streaks down, striking him, and he disappears in an instant.

She exhales a stream of smoke, her gaze lifting toward the stormy sky.

"This job… always expect the unexpected," she murmurs to herself.

Doctor: "Excuse me, ma'am. Please, not in here."

Lander: "Oh, right. My bad. Heading down."

She flicks the cigarette and steps away, her movements as casual as her words, looking around the room as she makes her leave.

AGOSTA HOSPITAL

12:59 AM

Gordon: Don't let him get to you

Brandon: Hmpf! He isn't

Gordon: Okay, Hey! I think we are clear here

Balone: Can we head back now

Trixie:

Gordon: Alright, that's...

The tension in the hospital snaps like a taut string as an immense pressure fills the air.

Gordon: shouts "Everyone! To Rachel's room!"

The team rushes in to find carnage…blood and flesh splattered everywhere. An Amorald lies motionless on the bed beside its unconscious mother. Suddenly, the Amorald releases a surge of energy. The room plunges into darkness and only the moonlight's reflection is left to illuminate the room

Balone: Tsk! little devil.

Gordon: whispers "Shh, no one make a…"

An explosion erupts. The backup generator restores power, Gordon is gone…only his blood and flesh remain.

Balone: "Where's the demon?"

Trixie, trembling, points behind Amar as the amorald hangs on his back

He notices, screams and flings it toward Trixie, but it's a bit late. Amar's body explodes, leaving nothing but gore in his place and scattered remains on his comrades.

The team freezes, horror-stricken as the backup generator surges on and off and the moonlight casts eerie shadows across the room.
