Episode 1: The Unseen Curse

The city was busy as always. People hurried along the crowded streets, lost in their own lives. But Takahashi Ren walked with heavy thoughts weighing down his steps.
"I still don't have enough money," he thought. "How can I give my family a better life? Mom's health keeps getting worse."
At home, his younger sister Yui sat beside their mother Emi. Emi's illness was rare, and the medicines were expensive—something the family struggled to afford.
Yui whispered quietly, "I wish there was a cure…"

Suddenly, a loud commotion caught Ren's attention. A crowd had gathered nearby, staring at something strange. Curious, Ren moved closer and saw a man whose skin had turned purple and blue.
The man looked severely ill. Moments before, a bright, blinding light had flashed in that spot.
An ambulance arrived quickly. Paramedics rushed to carry the man inside. But the moment one of them touched him, blood poured from his mouth, and his skin color changed again. The crowd stepped back, terrified.
Ren, standing nearby, felt nothing. When the man suddenly collapsed, Ren instinctively caught him before he hit the ground.
Everyone was shocked that Ren remained unharmed.

At the hospital, doctors checked the man thoroughly. The machines showed he wasn't breathing, yet his heart was still beating. The doctors exchanged confused looks.
Ren returned home, his mind racing. "Why wasn't I affected by that strange sickness?"
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Ren opened it to find an old man standing there. His face was marked with deep scars, and his eyes shone with a sharp intensity. Behind him, two bodyguards stood silently.
The old man looked directly at Ren and said in a low, firm voice,
"Oh? So you are the one."
Ren froze, surprised and unsure of what to say.
