The boy had lost everything—his mother, father, and his entire village—all in a single day. His mind shattered. He couldn't even think straight. He sat silently, holding his mother's lifeless body in his arms, broken and numb.
Suddenly, two knights appeared in the distance, walking through the burned village. One of them spoke, "I see a boy over there."
The other replied, "Then go and kill him."
"Why is it always me doing the dirty work?" the first knight muttered, drawing his sword and walking toward the boy.
"I have no problem with you," the knight told him, "but the prince ordered us to kill anyone who saw this village."
Sirabs stood up slowly. The knight raised his sword to strike, but before he could move, blood burst from his mouth. A blade pierced through him—Sirabs' sword. The knight collapsed to the ground.
The second knight turned and tried to flee, but Sirabs fired an arrow into his leg and captured him alive.
Sirabs grabbed the wounded knight by the collar. "I'll only ask once," he growled. "Who did this to my village?"
The knight hesitated, but before he could speak, he pulled a small hidden blade and stabbed Sirabs in the chest. Blood sprayed—but Sirabs didn't fall. Instead, he pulled the blade out and his wound began to heal instantly.
"You fool," Sirabs said, his eyes cold. He sliced off the knight's fingers.
"Now speak."
Trembling, the knight began, "We're knights from Borss City. The king gave this land to his son, Prince Alberso. Four days ago, the prince wanted to go hunting. We left the city and began killing all the animals in the jungle. When we couldn't find any more animals, the prince said... 'Why not hunt humans instead?'"
"No one can defy him. So we attacked the nearby villages. The last one was yours."
Sirabs clenched his fists. "My village had the strongest warriors in the land. How did you even defeat them?"
The knight replied, "The prince invited your warriors to his camp, then ambushed and killed them all. After that, we attacked the village. Some kids were eaten by his hunting dogs."
Sirabs' eyes widened. "The kids… I saw the bodies. Why did they die like that?"
"The prince set his dogs loose to hunt them," the knight said.
"Please... I told you everything. Let me go…"
Sirabs didn't answer. He simply drew his sword and sliced the knight into two clean halves.
Then he returned to his village. One by one, he gathered the corpses of his people and buried them. Their deaths were cruel—some had been burned alive, some torn apart. Even the children had been eaten.
He buried them all. His hands were red with blood. He didn't rest once.
Finally, he picked up his father's sword and his mother's magic book.
As he held the book, its color changed from green to black. His vision blurred. Suddenly, he saw another world—one of endless fire.
A woman in black robes sat upon a throne. Her face was hidden in shadow.
"You've already killed two people today," she said softly. "But you don't feel guilty at all."
"They were demons," Sirabs replied coldly. "Killing demons is no sin. But who are you? Every time I should have died, I see your shadow… and I come back to life. Who are you?"
The woman's lips curled into a smile. "Do you want to know who I am? Or do you want to kill the prince? Choose one."
Without hesitation, Sirabs said, "I want to kill the prince."
"Then I'll explain," the woman replied. "You wield the magic of blood sacrifice. Others use the flesh of enemies for power. But you... you use your own. You cannot die. Even if you try, you'll always return. You are now one of us."
Thunder cracked, and Sirabs opened his eyes.
He was back in the real world.
"I don't care anymore," he said, gripping his sword. "I'll kill the prince."
He studied the prince's path on the map. "He's moving with 10,000 soldiers. If I want to stop him, I'll have to set a trap."
Sirabs' hunt had begun.
---
Meanwhile...
The prince and his massive army marched through the jungle. The soldiers were laughing and cheering, proud of their "hunt."
"My lord," said the commander, "we got all the animal bodies and gold from the villages."
"That's not important," said the prince. "The best part was feeding the villagers to my dogs."
He had five dogs trained to hunt and eat humans.
The commander smiled. "Yes, my lord. It was fun."
"Let's return to the city. I'm bored," the prince said.
As they went deeper into the jungle, the trap was set.
Flames erupted. The horses panicked and ran wild, crushing men beneath their hooves. Soldiers screamed. Boulders rolled down from the mountains, smashing through the army ranks.
"What is happening?!" the commander yelled.
"This must be the work of a thousand men!" one soldier cried.
But it was not.
It was the work of one boy—Sirabs.
His dark magic had set the jungle ablaze. Fire, traps, and chaos. The prince was now alone with just ten knights and his five dogs.
Then Sirabs appeared.
Bloodstained, eyes burning, walking calmly toward the prince.
"Who is that?!" the prince shouted.
"Kill him!" the commander ordered, unleashing the dogs.
The first dog leapt, but Sirabs sliced it in half.
The other four came at once—he killed two with his sword, but the others bit into his flesh. Sirabs drove his blade through his own body, skewering the dogs with it.
He ripped them apart.
The knights charged. Sirabs cut them down, one by one.
"Human sacrifice magic," he whispered. "Lightning sword."
In a flash, he struck like lightning—slaughtering them all.
Only the prince remained.
The coward ran.
Sirabs chased him.
The prince stumbled over corpses, begging, "Please! I'll give you gold, land, power—anything you want! Just let me go!"
Sirabs stood over him. "Then give me the lives you took."
"I—I can't!" the prince stammered. "I can't bring people back!"
Sirabs raised his sword. "Then don't offer what you can't return."
And he began striking—again, and again, and again. The prince's blood flowed like a river.
Sirabs stood over his broken body.
The hunt had ended.
But the war had just begun.
