1 Piece AU Luffy Charlotte

It had been about five days since Luffy joined them on the island and right now he was taking a bath. He's taken more baths here than he ever had on Dawn Island, he didn't know baths could be so fun and nice! Especially after he was training so hard! The older Charlottes' all took turns training him in different things and trying to show him the cool mystery power that let him feel attacks coming and hit people harder! Ama and Smo were even showing him how to use a sword but he was stuck using a wooden one, it was kind of like a sharp pipe!
He didn't know why they were training him but he was happy cause now he was getting stronger and able to protect more people! They were even showing him how to cook some stuff so he could make his own tasty food! They were all so nice aside from some of them like that weird lady-bug looking girl that was mean to Pudding.
He also didn't know that he had managed to get all of the children numbers twenty and up wrapped around his little finger because he was nice and innocent and pure sunshine and the reason that their mother had become more loving and actually motherly. That was one of the main reasons they were training him. They wanted him to be strong enough to protect himself because if he ever got hurt then they'd massacre whoever hurt him, and that wasn't counting what Mama would do. Not that they told him that.
"Let me get your hair, sunshine." Amande said from where she was behind him in the bath, pulling him to sit in front of her on her lap while she got the shampoo and conditioner ready.
That was another thing, most of the Charlottes were calling him Sunshine. The Charlotte family Sunshine at that. That was fine with him though, after all he gave them all nicknames and he was used to being the Anchor for the Red Haired pirates so he didn't mind being Sunshine to them.
"Thank you!" Luffy chirped happily as he snuggled into her lap and leaned back against her. She was soft and warm and didn't mind letting him sleep with her cause he didn't like being lonely. And when she couldn't sleep with him she took him to Branch who always loved having him and Pudding over. They told him he had to remember to say please or thank you cause he had to be nice sometimes especially when dealing with strong people who he can't fight yet.
They also were teaching him how to read and write and do some math so that he could fulfill Sabo's dream! He had even started writing down everything he could remember, but his handwriting wasn't good yet and he didn't know how to spell some words but Cheese-man said he was getting better!
Shanks was going to be so proud when he got here and Ace-nii would be really proud when Luffy saw him again!
Everyone was nice but Luffy's favorite people were Ama and Branch and Pudding and even Pero! Sure Queen Lin was nice and funny sometimes but he liked Ama and Branch better.
"I don't know how you keep your hair so fluffy and soft, sunshine, but it suits you." Ama said and Luffy smiled up at her and was happy that she was smiling back. He noticed that she didn't smile a lot around others but she smiled at him lots! He thought she looked pretty when she was smiling. It was easier to see her smiling too when she wasn't wearing her hat like now, her hat was with his over on the bench so that they didn't get wet.
In fact Luffy tilted his head as he thought about when Pudding and the others had told him about what Mamas were like. They said that the mama's were like girl versions of Benn and Shanks and he thought about it as he looked up at Amande curiously.
Hm.
Mama's were nice: check. She was one of the nicest ones he's met here.
Mama's cared about you: check. She made sure he was okay after training and kept him from drowning when bathing and made sure he ate and got all nice and clean.
Mama's kept you safe: check. She had been really worried when he had gone out near the docks with Pudding to watch the ships and when he had fallen in the water she had immediately dove in to get him. She even made him hold her hand so that he didn't get lost when wandering around cause she didn't want him to get lost and hurt.
Mama's kept bad dreams and people away: check and check. She let him sleep with her in her bed and it kept all the bad lonely dreams away and when she couldn't she made sure someone did. And one time before she made him hold her hand while out one bad guy had grabbed him and was saying weird things about his rubber powers and she had found him and got mad and cut the guy up saying he was a bad nasty man.
Mama's were older than you by lots: check. She was lots older than him. He wasn't sure how much but he was two years older than Pudding and the same age as Yuen and they said Ama was lots older than them and one of the oldest of the family.
She fit all of the things Pudding told him about mamas.
Luffy glanced up at the woman washing his hair and making it all bubbly and soapy and was making sure she scratched his scalp a bit and it felt really nice when she did that. Was she his mama then? Sounded like it to him. Luffy grinned widely at this as he leaned back to look up at her again, resting his head against her stomach after she washed all the bubbles and soap out of his hair.
"Mama!" Luffy said grinning brightly and he saw her eyes widen and then there was water in them but she was smiling and she hugged him.
"Yes Sunshine. I'll be your mama."
