Chapter 4 - Exploration - 02

As soon as he finished speaking, the atmosphere suddenly turned cold.

Margin recalled how he had fled in panic while being chased by a gang of filthy bounty hunters.

What annoyed him even more was the foolish subordinate before him, spouting nonsense unrelated to their current situation.

Without hesitation, Margin smashed his wine glass into the young man's face, breaking his nose.

The blow was so forceful that the subordinate passed out instantly, his face soaked in wine.

"You idiot! Why would you say something so cursed when I'm in such a good mood? That damned bounty hunter who calls himself the 'Messenger of Justice' is nothing more than a pirate in disguise. I was ready to pay him off and settle things, but he kept chasing us even after that!"

"Once I use the stolen loot to buy a better warship, I'll hunt them down and tear their bones out one by one!"

The captain's fury terrified his subordinates so much that they all trembled in fear. Even the crewmates who had been dancing and celebrating stopped, too frightened to speak.

Margin, burning with rage, was about to pick a few unlucky men to vent on when a sudden burst of gunfire erupted outside the ruins.

His expression changed instantly as he turned toward the direction of the gunfire. That's where his stationed guards were. Unless something unexpected had happened… this had to be an enemy attack.

There was no time to ponder why enemies would be in such a remote place. He quickly shouted:

"Quick, you fools! Grab your weapons!"

"Rod! Take a few men and check it out. If it's those damn bounty hunters again, report back to me immediately!"

Rod, the crew's vice-captain, had always been loyal to Margin and was incredibly strong.

Upon receiving the order, he called out a few names and prepared to move.

But before he could leave, two shadows came flying in from outside and crashed into the wall before them.

When Margin and the others looked closely, they realized they were the corpses of two of their crewmates, already dead.

In an instant, everyone raised their weapons, alert and terrified, certain it was a bounty hunter assault.

As they aimed, a figure stepped out from the ruins.

"Damn, I didn't even say a word and you're already shooting? You pirates really are ruthless."

Peter walked in under the cautious eyes of the pirates, shaking his blood-stained index finger in disapproval.

Seeing Peter—but not recognizing him as the bounty hunter who had once pursued them—Margin waved his hand and shouted:

"Shoot him! I want that bastard dead!!"

"Seriously?! Don't you guys have any sense of morality?!"

Peter cursed in frustration. Normally, wouldn't a villain scream, "Who are you?!" before monologuing and threatening the hero?

"Why'd this guy skip straight to shooting?! I'm supposed to be the main character here! …Oh, right, this world already has Luffy."

In a hurry, Peter could only clasp his hands in front of him and dash toward the pirates.

Although he dodged most of the bullets, some still grazed and hit him.

"Ouch! That hurts!"

Thanks to the innate instinct and combat talent of the Saiyan bloodline, Peter quickly adapted to the brutal atmosphere of the One Piece world.

Even the vice-captain Rod was no match for him. After a powerful punch, Rod was sent flying into a wall.

In just a few minutes, more than 15 pirates lay defeated. The only one left standing was Margin—the one who gave the order.

Margin's mouth fell open in disbelief as he stared at his fallen crew. Then, when Peter looked his way, he immediately dropped to his knees.

"Mercy! Please, sir, have mercy~"

Peter walked up, kicked him, and asked:

"Let me ask you something. Which sea area is this? What year is it?"

"Wh-what sea? This is the Grand Line."

Margin was confused by the strange question. Then Peter stepped on his chest and pressed down.

"Aah~"Margin cried out in pain before answering quickly.

"S-sir! This is the year 1520 of the Sea Circle Calendar! I'm the captain of the Bounty Pirates, and my bounty is 14 million Berries!"

He told Peter everything, even his bounty, hoping not to be stomped to death.

"1520? Isn't that the year Monkey D. Luffy set out to sea?"

"And I landed on the Grand Line? This is way more exciting!"

Peter lifted his foot off Margin's chest and took two steps back, letting him catch his breath. Then he continued:

"Let me ask again—have you heard of the Straw Hat Kid, Luffy? Has the Shichibukai Crocodile been defeated?"

"Hmm...? I haven't heard that name before, and I don't think there's any news about Desert King being defeated."

Margin answered in a low, tense voice. As he spoke, he cautiously looked at Peter's face. Seeing him lower his head in thought, Margin's mind raced for a way out.

"Sir..."

"Hm?"

Peter raised his head, annoyed at the interruption.

Margin looked at him with pleading eyes and said:

"W-wait, sir! I'm willing to trade all the treasures I've looted for my life! Please, spare me!"

"You idiot. Even if I kill you, all your treasures will still be mine."

After listening to Margin's desperate plea, Peter coldly raised his hand and fired a beam of light from his fingertip—straight through the captain's heart.

"Hah~" Peter blew on his finger as he looked at Margin, now lying lifeless on the ground.

As the adrenaline and Saiyan excitement faded, he finally realized what he had done. Something that would've been considered extreme on Earth.

He sat down, processing the shock and gathering his thoughts.

"At least I didn't puke after my first kill like they do in most novels. If this were a novel, I'd be classified as the evil sigma male—bwahaha."

"Alright then. Time to get to work. I accept your generous donation—it'll make a fine startup fund."

After finishing off Margin's pirates, Peter happily began looting the battlefield.

All the gold, silver, and jewels the pirates had plundered were already packed and ready to be shipped out—lucky for him.

As he was counting his spoils, an unexpected guest arrived outside the ruins.

"What a coincidence to find this thing here. I just hope these ancient ruins weren't damaged..."

Looking at the familiar pirate flag fluttering at the entrance of the ruins, Robin narrowed her eyes, adjusted her cowboy hat, and her expression darkened.

After those words, she pulled her shoulder bag tighter and cautiously made her way toward the ruins.
