Chapter 1 - Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

It's been 3 months since we defeated Gwi Mha.

The world is finally peaceful.

No more demons creeping out of shadows.

No more emergency performances laced with hidden spells.

No more late-night patrols or watching the honmoon pulse with fading light.

For the first time in forever, we're just… girls.

I should be happy. I am happy. But… I feel kind of lost.

The very thing that gave my life meaning—protecting the honmoon, fighting for humanity—it's just… gone. Like someone took the climax out of my story and left me on a blank page.

Selene says it's okay. She told us that even if the mission is over, our group still exists. We still have our voices. Our fans. Our sisterhood.

And she's right.

Because beneath the demon-slaying and ancient secrets, we're still a girl group.

Still Idols.

The world never knew about Gwi Mha, or the SaJa boys, or the hell we survived.

After everything ended, it was like the universe wiped the slate clean.

No one remembers the war. The demons. The magic.

No one remembers Jinu

Anyway, Mia asked if we should change the name—because Huntrix basically means hunters—but I told her no. It's cool, and the fans love it, so it's going to stay.

From now on, I'm going to try discovering myself… outside of demons and Huntrix.

Bye for now.

—Rumi

---

Rumi closed her diary, flipping back a few pages before gently shutting and locking it.

With a sigh, she flopped onto her back, tucking it safely in the drawer.

Staring at the ceiling felt like a chore, so she grabbed her pen and notebook.

"So much for trying to discover myself," she muttered, rolling her eyes.

A few scattered lines and crumpled attempts later, Rumi groaned and dropped her head on her notebook.

Zero inspiration.

Just then, the door creaked open.

She looked up lazily to see Zoey—her twin buns bouncing as she peeked through the door with a wide grin.

Right above her stood Mira, wearing an identical smile.

They were too happy. That could only mean trouble.

"What do you want?" Rumi asked flatly.

"Hehe... We were wondering if you'd come to the bathhouse with us," Zoey said, stepping into the room.

Mira nodded beside her, their animated smiles beaming like neon signs.

Rumi groaned.

"Seriously? Don't you think we've been going a little too much?"

"Nope!" they said in perfect unison.

She sat up.

"At this point, they should have our faces on the door. Like—'Official Huntrix Hangout Spot.'"

Still, they didn't budge.

"Come onnn, guysss~ We went day before yesterday… and the day before that… and the day before that too!" Rumi counted dramatically.

"Almost every day since the battle ended. Except practice, recording, and performances."

"Exactly," Mira added. "We're making up for all the days you didn't come with us."

"Ahhhgg," Rumi groaned. "I need a break."

Silence.

Zoey and Mira froze, eyes slowly widening.

Then—screams.

"AAAHHHH! Rumi said she needs a break!"

They jumped up and hugged each other like they'd just been handed endless supply of Ramen.

Rumi blinked.

"Wait—I didn't mean—"

"Shhh," Mira whispered dramatically, placing a finger on Rumi's lips as she leaned in.

"Picture it: the beach. Sun. Coconut drinks. Hammocks. Endless fun."

She waved her hand in front of Rumi's face like she was painting a dreamy vision.

Rumi wasn't impressed.

"I'm calling Bobby" Zoey beamed, bringing out her phone and dialing.

"What?! No!" She snapped out of it. "I still have things I want to work on!"

But Zoey was already dialing their manager.

"Come on, Rumiii~ We haven't had a proper break in forever."

They hit her with twin sets of puppy eyes.

Rumi sighed. As much as she wanted to sulk and write her way into self-discovery… they weren't wrong. The past months had been chaos. And the girls did always listen to her.

She gave in.

"Fiiine."

"YAAAAY!!" Zoey and Mira fist-pumped, jumping and whooping like hyper kids.

"Jeju Island, here we come!" Mira squealed.

"Jeju islanddd!" Zoey hooted

Rumi's eyes widened.

"Wait—what?! Jeju? I didn't even—"

Too late.

It was already a done deal.
