Chapter 2 - What?

…There's dirt in my mouth.

Like actual dirt.

Coarse. Grainy. Tastes like despair and bad decisions.

I cough, hack, spit out what I hope wasn't a bug, and blink against the burning sunlight overhead.

Wasn't I just—?

Oh. Right.

Truck. Girl. Heroic moment. Blinding white flash.

So unless I'm in some weirdly specific Korean emergency room with outdoor landscaping…

I'm not in Seoul anymore.

I sit up.

The sky is… too blue. The clouds are shaped like they've been Photoshopped. There are floating rocks. A big bird the size of a motorcycle just screamed at the wind.

Yup.

This is it.

I've been isekai'd.

Holy crap.

I've actually been transported to another world.

My heart's pounding.

Not from panic. From possibility.

Because I've read this story.

I've seen the anime.

I've binged the webtoons.

I've read the novels at 3am whispering "just one more chapter" while my soul slowly left my body.

This is the dream.

The moment the MC wakes up in another world and realizes they're secretly a—

"Status window!"

Nothing.

"System interface!"

Nada.

"Inventory… open!"

...Still nothing.

"Skill tree?"

"Beginner tutorial guide?"

"Infinite mana cheat?"

"OVERPOWERED MAGIC LIGHTNING GOD FORM?"

"Siri?"

"…Cortana?"

Silence.

No glowing screen. No guide. No sexy elf. No overpowered status sheet with words like "[He Who Transcends Dimensions]" or "[Fated Savior of the Abyssal Blah Blah Whatever]."

Just… a breeze.

And an itchy shirt.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

Okay, okay. Breathe.

Maybe I'm just not triggered yet.

You know how sometimes the power only activates in a high-stress situation?

Let's try that.

I stand up. Focus all my will. Channel every bit of dramatic tension I can summon from my anime-watching soul.

"BY THE NAME OF THE HEAVENS ABOVE, I SUMMON—"

A bee flies into my mouth mid-sentence.

I choke.

Fall.

Eat more dirt.

So.

No system.

No power.

No cheat codes.

Not even a conveniently placed sword in a stone.

But something is wrong.

Because this body…

It's not mine.

I scramble to the edge of a pond nearby.

Look down.

Staring back at me is a face I've never seen before.

White hair. Pale skin. Gold-flecked eyes that glow faintly. I look like the final boss in an RPG — but like, the skinny pre-final-form version before he takes off the cape.

And then—

It hits me.

Like a migraine wearing boots.

A rush of thoughts floods in — voices, sensations, memories. Not mine. Not Korean. Not even Earthly.

I see:

A burning village.

A boy, curled in a cellar, clutching a shard of glass.

A woman with no face, whispering promises.

A name:

Riven.

That's me.

Or… that's who I'm in now.

This isn't reincarnation. This is possession.

I didn't just spawn here.

I landed in someone else's mess.

And judging by the pain echoing in my ribs, Riven wasn't doing great either.

So to recap:

I saved someone from a truck.

Died (probably).

Woke up in a fantasy world.

Possessed some emotionally tortured anime side character with amazing hair.

Have zero powers.

And got verbally mugged by a bee.

Amazing start.

But still… I'm here.

And for some reason…

I don't feel like ending anything today.

Which, all things considered, is a win.
