Chapter 26 - chapter 26

After a year — Hanamitchi's Residence

The grand halls of the Hanamitchi residence remained just as powerful and pristine—polished floors, tall ceilings, the scent of heritage and legacy lingering in the air. But Yuri had changed. His aura matured. A year of quiet rebuilding, of balancing love and duty, had transformed him into more than just a son of power.

Mr. Hanamitchi:

"Yuri, come with me. The board member meeting is will be starting soon."

Yuri:

"Yes, Dad."

He walks with his dad with confident strides, no longer the boy who used to avoid these formal gatherings. He had begun to embrace it—the weight of the Hanamitchi name, the future of the empire.

Mr. Hanamitchi (looking at him with a rare, proud glint):

"From today, you'll not only sit as my son, but as my successor. It's time the board knows the man who'll take my seat one day."

Yuri nodded slowly, absorbing the gravity of those words. No protests. No more running. Just silent acceptance.

Yuri:

"I'm ready. I've been preparing for this."

Mr. Hanamitchi:

"Then let's show them what the next generation of Hanamitchi looks like."

They walked side by side—father and son—towards the Meeting room

Inside the Boardroom — Hanamitchi Group Headquarters

The long obsidian table stretched down the center of the room, surrounded by men and women in tailored suits—each holding pens, papers, and expectations. The room buzzed quietly with whispers until the tall double doors swung open.

Everyone stood.

Board Members (in unison):

"Good afternoon, Mr. Hanamitchi."

Haru Hanamitchi entered with regal composure, his presence enough to still the room. And just beside him, walking tall in a fitted black suit and sharp eyes, was Yuri Hanamitchi. No longer the rebellious youth they once knew—this was a man with purpose.

They reached the head of the table. Haru remained standing, placing both hands on the table before him as he looked each member in the eye.

Haru Hanamitchi (with calm authority):

"Today marks a new chapter for Hanamitchi Group."

He paused for a moment, letting the weight of his words settle.

Haru:

"I've built this empire with blood, sweat, and a vision. And now, it's time to pass that vision on to someone who understands both the power and the responsibility of what we've created."

He turned toward Yuri and rested a firm hand on his shoulder.

Haru (proudly):

"Today, I announce the new CEO of Hanamitchi Group—my one and only son, Yuri Hanamitchi."

Gasps whispered across the room—some expected it, some didn't. But no one could deny the storm that stood before them.

Yuri (stepping forward):

"I won't promise perfection. But I promise dedication, honor, and to protect the legacy of this name—and expand it beyond limits."

Some board members nodded in approval, others exchanged glances—but the room had shifted. A new king had just been crowned.

Nightfall — The Moonlit Streets

A long day dragged behind him. The weight of decisions, the signatures, the firm handshakes, the polite but sharp gazes of board members—all of it carved a quiet exhaustion in Yuri's bones. He loosened his tie slightly as he stepped into his black sedan, the city lights flickering through tinted glass.

His hands gripped the wheel, but his mind wandered… not to business, not to power, but her.

Without realizing, his car slowed down in front of the Fernandez Residence.

The gates stood tall, elegant, familiar—like a quiet ache in his chest. The lights were still on in one of the upstairs rooms. Soft golden hues danced from the window. His eyes lingered.

Yuri (murmuring):

"Why did my heart bring me here?"

He rolled down the window slightly, letting the night air rush in. It carried the scent of earth, summer blossoms..

Yuri tapped her number, waiting as the phone rang.

The other line:

"Hey…"

Yuri:

"Babe, you asleep?"

Y/N (softly):

"Not yet."

Yuri (smiling to himself):

"I want to see you…"

Y/N (teasing):

"Okay, let's meet tomorrow then."

Yuri (laughing softly):

"Why not now?"

Y/N (chuckling):

"Don't be kidding… you know I miss you."

Yuri (grinning):

"I'm not kidding. I'm downstairs. Come to me, babe…"
