Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Indulgences

"Where did this bastard come from?" the Underworld Boss asked his henchman, not bothering to look at Levis.

"Sorry, boss, I didn't see him!" The henchman chuckled casually, then looked at Levis and teased, "But I think this guy probably stole a pair of wings from some church and put them on his back."

"He even thought putting on wings made him an Angel! Hahaha!"

"Boss, maybe you've done too many bad things, and God sent an Angel to deal with you!"

The Underworld Boss and his henchmen all laughed heartily at Levis.

Levis raised his head, his eyes fixed on the Underworld Boss, and continued, "Ignorant people, even if they don't commit crimes out of ignorance, will make mistakes out of foolishness."

"And you, you are both ignorant and foolish!"

With that, Levis's wings retracted behind him, then he suddenly flapped them, and countless feathers instantly shot out in all directions.

Explosions echoed continuously, and screams of pain rose and fell.

When the smoke cleared, the Underworld Bosswas unharmed, and the Referee of the cage fight was also unharmed.

But on the ground, all the henchmen were screaming and wailing in pain.

The Underworld Boss was stiff with fear, and the Referee had already wet his pants.

Levis looked calmly at the Underworld Boss and said again, "You are guilty!"

This time, the Underworld Boss finally understood the gravity of the situation and dared not pretend anymore; he immediately pulled out a pistol, but still didn't have the guts to point it at Levis, asking tremblingly, "Who exactly are you? What do you want?"

Levis glanced at the pistol, and quietly breathed a sigh of relief; it had been too risky. Thankfully, this guy didn't just pull out his gun and shoot, otherwise, it would have been hard to say who would win tonight.

But now, Levis certainly wouldn't give the Underworld Boss another chance to raise his gun; he stared intently at him and said in a deep voice, "Judge evil, execute justice!"

"You're going to kill me!" The Underworld Boss's face changed drastically, and he stumbled back a step in fear.

Of course, Levis wouldn't kill him; otherwise, why would he drag it out so long and waste so much breath putting on such a show?

"You can choose to atone!" Levis calmly offered a second option.

Hearing that he didn't have to die, the Underworld Boss immediately regained his composure, no longer caring about anything else, and eagerly asked, "How do I atone?"

"This is an ancient tradition, first popular in medieval Europe."

Levis didn't answer directly but began to educate the Underworld Boss about history.

Unfortunately, the Underworld Boss was a lowlife who didn't even understand U.S. history, let alone medieval Europe!

However, the Referee was somewhat cultured and instantly understood, saying, "Boss, this… Mr. Angel, is talking about indulgences!"

"What are indulgences?"

The Referee pointed to the table in front of them and reminded him, "Boss, it's money. Indulgences are money!"

As soon as the Underworld Boss heard it was just about money, he immediately relaxed.

It's just money, isn't it? Although it still pained him a little, money could be earned back. Anyway, he had this venue, and he could earn it back in a few days. If his life was gone, it was truly gone.

The Underworld Boss quickly scurried over, put all the money into a bag, then ran back and eagerly handed it to Levis, saying, "Mr. Angel, you take this; all this money is yours, I don't want any of it!"

Levis took the money bag, weighed it, and felt it had a bit of heft. He glanced at the bowing Underworld Boss and said, "This isn't money; these are your indulgences, do you understand?"

"Clear, clear. This isn't money, this is my indulgence." The Underworld Boss didn't dare to question Levis at all, keeping his head down and being submissive.

After he finished speaking, he waited for a long time without a response. The Underworld Bosscautiously raised his head, looked around, and found that Levis was long gone. The stone in his heart instantly dropped.

Then, thinking about how he had worked for nothing tonight, the Underworld Boss felt incredibly upset and spat on the ground viciously.

Sunrise and dawn ushered in a new day.

After breakfast, Danny left first; he still needed to discuss with his old lawyer friend how to get his company back.

Levis left afterward; he planned to walk around this morning.

He realized that he had been in New York for so many days, yet he had been living almost a two-point-one-line life, which was truly absurd.

This was New York in the Marvel Universe! Not to mention the World crises that would happen frequently in the future, but he hadn't even visited famous landmarks or companies like the S.H.I.E.L.D. Triskelion, Stark Tower, Osborn Group, Hammer Industries, etc.!

So, Levis felt it was necessary to go for a stroll first. Anyway, he was just a small fry now, and these bigshots wouldn't notice him.

And he also believed that in the future, he would definitely intersect with these bigshots, so it wouldn't hurt to go and see them in advance to get acquainted.

Levis's first stop on his Marvel New York tour was Tony's Stark Tower.

Well... it was because Levis's current main focus was Tony's Stark Industries!

After all, he was counting on Stark Industries' stocks to get rich in the future.

Standing outside Stark Tower, Levis felt the building was much more magnificent than what he had seen on television.

The only thing that surprised Levis was seeing a group of people dressed in what could be called bizarre, unconventional attire outside Stark Tower, which reminded him of other civilizations in the vast Universe.

Could it be that his memory was messed up, and Earth had actually entered the space age and established diplomatic relations with the multiverse?

Otherwise, where did these strange guys come from?

"Is this a cosplay event?" Levis found it hard to understand.

Perhaps Levis stared at these people for a little too long, and he was noticed by them.

Levis saw those people pointing at him and whispering. As he was about to leave, a creature that looked like a female walked over.

"Hi, handsome! Do you want to join us?"

Levis looked carefully, confirmed it was a female, and responded with a smile, "No, thank you, I just haven't seen anything like this before."

When Levis smiled, the girl's eyes lit up, and she happily extended her hand, saying, "Hello, my name is Daisy, Daisy Johnson."

Since the girl had extended her hand, Levis had no choice but to lightly shake it and introduce himself, "Neo, Levis."

"Actually, it's my first time participating in their event too." Daisy seemed like a very enthusiastic girl; she briefly explained and then went straight to the point, "By the way, Neo, do you have a girlfriend?"

Daisy's enthusiasm was clearly a bit unexpected for Levis. Just as he was about to answer, he suddenly saw a group of people emerge from Stark Tower, followed by a large group of security personnel driving away Daisy's friends.
