A day had passed, Tokyo had its lights on, the night giving it a serene feeling of calm, individuals minding their business, oblivious to the existence of roaming creatures born from negative emotions.
Truly an ironic harmony.
Gojo sat still inside a moving car, the road clear and quiet, far from the city and prying eyes.
Kiyotaka Ijichi had his hands firm on the steering wheel, his eyes filled with calm focus on the road, despite Gojo humming melodious tones.
Suddenly, Gojo's senses spiked, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. He stopped humming abruptly, prompting Ijichi to look at him through the rearview mirror.
"Is there a problem, Gojo-san?"
He asked, but Gojo didn't give him a clear explanation, instead saying:
"Stop me here, Ijichi..."
"What?" Ijichi looked around, the trees vast. "We're far from the meeting an—"
"It's fine. I'm sure," Gojo reassured, even though Ijichi was unsure himself, but he stopped the car.
Gojo got out, hands tucked in his pockets, his expression more curious than tense from impending danger.
"Is this some kind of test you arranged for me?!" Ijichi asked, which was understandable given Gojo's overall attitude and personality.
"What...? Who do you think I am for you to say that?"
"Well... y'know."
Gojo waved off Ijichi. "I'll be fine."
Ijichi took his head back in the car and started the engine, moving the vehicle.
"Now then... What's this aura I keep feeling?"
Gojo stood in the middle of the road, hands still in his pockets.... Suddenly:
Boom!!!
Flames erupted from behind, covering his entire being, destroying the structure behind him with a single eruption. The ground still reverberated.
Jogo hopped out, landing on his knees, a maniacal smile plastered on his features.
"What did I tell those dimwits about this Satoru Gojo being a one in a million? Just another one of humanity's unfaithful and dishonest sorcerers. Hmph!!"
Jogo's smile faded, a bit disappointed by the thought that Gojo was annihilated from just one attack.
Waving off his hands, he turned around to walk off—until he heard a sound.
"Cough, cough! This smoke..."
Jogo turned back again, his eye trembling in anger, his fingers digging into his palm.
"Oi!!! So you're the thing responsible for my senses tingling?!" Gojo inquired.
"Volcanic head!!!"
A miniature volcano appeared at the side of the road, blasting Gojo, the flames illuminating the entire dark forest, the air still lingering with ominous heat.
The smoke cleared, revealing Gojo standing firm, his hands raised with his index fingers intertwined. The magma from the miniature volcano halted in the air, the light from the flames illuminating Gojo's features.
"God, I hate smoke," he said, waving off the smoke that adulterated the air.
"Tch!!" Jogo clicked his tongue, spiteful toward Gojo's lack of crisis. He raised his hands, calling forth—
"Ember insects!!!"
A swarm of insects with unsettling anatomy rushed forward at frightening speed, quickly covering the distance to Gojo. But before their stingers could pierce him, they halted.
"I wonder what'll happen if these things touch me..."
The road behind Gojo quickly split, creating a crater. Gojo made the same hand sign, but the buzzing insect sounds got louder, reaching his eardrums.
An explosion erupted from the insects, covering where Gojo stood.
Gojo landed on a higher platform from the road. "A two-staged attack? Quite tactical for a curse like you."
Jogo appeared before him, making contact with his face and igniting his head like a matchstick.
Fwoom!!!
"THERE'S STILL MORE!!!" Jogo screamed, placing his palm on Gojo's chest, destroying his abdomen with flames.
Jogo's flames turned purple before finally combusting into fiery orange.
A gust of wind and debris flew everywhere, the entire road laid in ruins.
"Is that all?
What a fraudulent being. In fact, humans in general all live in dishonesty, and the way they normalize such pathetic acts is what turns my stomach and guts."
Jogo dusted off the ash clinging to his clothes. A smile of satisfaction and menace filled his features.
"Not only Gojo Satoru will I be humbling—very soon, I will put Zankei Kubigari to his knees as well."
Jogo laughed, his volcanic head now settled.
"I wonder how you deal with all of this dust and smoke."
Jogo stopped in his tracks, turning to face the source of the voice, his eye going wide.
"W-what... I-it can't be. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!"
He said in disbelief as he saw Gojo dusting off smoke from his face nonchalantly.
"What's impossible?" Gojo tilted his head, a mocking smile on his face.
"I just touched you—there's no way you should still be alive!!!" Jogo shouted, his vein bulging and his eye going red.
"No, no." Gojo waved his index finger. "What you touched was the infinity between us." He clarified, making a pinching gesture.
"Infinity?" Jogo questioned.
Gojo's face went childish as he held out his hand. "Why don't you come here and place your palm on mine?"
Jogo kept his cynical expression, reading for any ill intent from Gojo.
"C'mon..."
Stare.
"C'mon..."
Jogo thought to himself briefly. I don't sense any ill intent from this act—or from him, in fact, as of right now... And I'm still not sure exactly how his infinity mechanics work in battle... It'll be valuable information for us.
Jogo justified his curiosity, walking up to Gojo with his hand up.
But something Jogo didn't anticipate happened right in front of his eyes.
"What?!!!"
Before his hand could touch Gojo's palm, it stopped. Jogo looked up at Gojo, confusion on his face.
"No, it's not what you're thinking. Your hand didn't stop... it's just met with infinity.
What that is exactly is that I divide the space between me and objects into infinite segments. In other words, the passive effect of Limitless."
Jogo tried pushing forward, but his hand just seemed to hang in the air.
"You're getting slower the closer you get to me. You know, we can just touch." Gojo grabbed Jogo's hand softly.
Pow!!!
Three consecutive hits landed on Jogo's abdomen, prompting him to spit purple-colored blood.
Gojo laughed, bringing his index finger up with a red orb floating on it, a radiating energy coming from the orb.
"And this is just another application of the Limitless."
The red orb shimmered, the light blinding Jogo, sending him flying through the forest, destroying every tree trunk in a trail of destruction.
Jogo, still airborne, was in shock. Gojo appeared before him, landing a heavy kick to his face, sending him flying again.
Gojo chuckled, then suddenly stopped. He remembered Yuji Itadori, the vessel for Sukuna presumed dead by the Jujutsu society authorities. While he is dead, Gojo had planned to teach him the basics of Jujutsu before making his presence known.
A good move to keep himself protected even without Gojo there.
"Oh yeah, I should bring Yuji here—"
But before Gojo could finish his words, he felt a very strange sensation. He suddenly started sweating.
Gojo landed on the ground. Jogo's jaw was dismantled and healing itself, but Gojo was unsettled. He had deactivated Infinity due to the fact that this sensation was slightly more malevolent than Jogo's.
He snapped his head in different directions, trying to spot something...
The moon shone bright, cascading over a figure now slowly stepping forward from the shadows of the forest.
The air turned dense, heavy with unfamiliar cursed energy that made even Gojo's skin crawl.
A low hum reverberated across the ground, not from sound—but pressure. The leaves stilled. The wind stopped moving. Time itself felt reluctant.
A figure in a white yukata stepped into the light, revealing a ginger-haired boy with golden glowing eyes. In one hand, he held something that made Gojo's stomach twist:
His blindfold.
"What's the use of this piece of cloth? Is it perhaps to help reduce the details you see with your eyes?"
Gojo's body froze.
When did he—?
He looked down. It was gone.
The ginger-haired vessel stared at him, eyes half-lidded, his presence calm but violently overwhelming.
"I take it you're Gojo Satoru? In other words, the strongest?"
Gojo tried cracking a cheeky smile.
"And who are you?"
The boy took a step forward. His voice dropped like a guillotine.
"Your coffin."
