"You said what…?" Damian asked as he was totally mind-blown by it, like everybody else there.
"The girl, that is the auction spotlight. I want to buy her." He said again with ease, and they just looked at each other as if they were hearing right or it was a hallucination and they were trapped or something.
"You want to buy… the pure-blood vampire?" Gerard asked as he was trying to puzzle it together.
"Yeah… what's up with the reactions?" He asked gently because he saw no problem with it.
"Lucian…" Charlotte stepped a few steps toward him and looked deep in his eyes. "You want to buy the pure-blood vampire who is the only female one in the country, in the continent… in the world?"
Now he kinda thought about it and the possibility that it might not be the best decision to make, but the thing is he already made the decision
"Yes, because they would just use her to breed pure-blood ones, like a sex slave, and she is just a child."
"You know she's at least 2000 years old, only her appearance is a child but she's a real demon." Damian said because he knew about it, the whole fucking world knew about the auction taking place, but he never thought that Lucian would take part in it because it was a danger in itself.
The pure-blood is the perfect one to get more of them, like start breeding her and all her children will be sold for a ridiculous amount of money, and the most extreme of all of it, whoever owns her, comes with unimaginable power and influence. There are only three pure-bloods in the whole world and she's one of them.
"Still, to me she is a child, and all of them just want to breed with her and grow more powerful." Lucian said and there wasn't even a single waver in his voice.
"That's a bad idea, Lucian. Even the Houses will be there, my father, all the families will be fighting with each other to get her, you can't—"
"And why should I fear them? Because I am a human?"
Something changed instantly, they all felt it, like the whole bar suddenly was descending into darkness, like they felt the pressure, their skin chilled, and even the temperature got colder…
The only human who can fucking scare them. The only man that can actually stop them talking, stop them in their tracks, and just froze them down.
"Well, anyway I have a weapon on me." He said, and in an instant everything went back to how it was. The whole pressure of the bar just disappeared into thin air, like it was just all in their head.
"W-Weapon?" Charlotte asked as she was still under what happened a second ago.
"Yeah, my cane." He said as he showed it to her.
"What is that? An ancient weapon or magical one with runes written on it?" Damian asked from the back, trying to look not intimidated, but he felt it too, that feeling creeping upon him… and second, it caught his attention because Lucian never had any weapon, and even if he did, he'd need something magical to defend himself against vampires and all kinds of creatures of this world.
"No, it's just a cane, but I can whoop their ass with it." He smiled as he spun it once. "But I'm not going to stop y'all—if y'all want to escort me, then come. But don't try to stop me, please. I want to save her… just like I saved y'all and many others."
Yeah, another reason to go to the auction, to do what he can do best. To save lives even if it's against the rules of the world, even if they can kill him in less than a second, he always did his best to help those who needed help.
They all looked at each other as Lucian turned around and walked toward the door, and in a second all of them were going after him, out of the bar into the lounge of the hotel, because yeah, they were in a hotel bar, not just a simple hotel.
"Mister Lucian, good to see you!" A man instantly shouted to him as he was puffing his cigar in the chair.
"Martinez, how are you." He said as he lightly dabbed him up.
"Lucian, you weird, let me bite into your neck." Another man's voice came.
"I'm good, Sian, but I will keep it in mind if I ever want to turn into a vampire." He said, but Sian was walking up to him, and Charlotte got a little tense because what if he also gets carried away by the smell and the feeling she felt?
Sian got close and leaned into Lucian's ear.
"I'm sorry for my son's behavior. I'll cover all the things you quoted. Please forgive him and the problem he caused. My family is not—"
"It's alright, Sian. I know kids can be a lot sometimes," he whispered back to his ear. "But the rules are rules. If he does it again—"
"He will not. I swear on my name," Sian said as he leaned back and looked deep into Lucian's eyes.
"Good. Now, if you would excuse me, I have to go," Lucian said as he tapped his shoulder, like reassuring him that everything's alright. But Sian knew that nothing was alright, and his kid fucked up on a whole other level, and what he felt coming from Lucian, he got frozen down a bit. His words were straight, but it carried something... dark.
Not just that, but the other wiht him... the aura radiating from them was screaming how dangerous they are... and well, they were all known. More than well-known, they were all demons on their own.
After finally managing to get out of the hotel after some more small talk with others another problem came up.
He had a chauffeur and a personal bodyguard, and in the back was only space for three… and they were four. But of course, there wasn't anything to worry about because Damian and Gerard got in the car as well as Lucian and of course Charlotte immediately hopped into his lap, and well, the road to the auction was not the very comfortable but they arrived.
