Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Cutting and Stopping Bleeding

"Squad Leader, what's our next mission?"

"Don't ask what you shouldn't."

His small request was denied, a damn Anbu rule.

Night Light followed Captain Ling, waiting at a small dock.

A few days later, they met their target.

It was a Vortex Ninja squad, and the Squad Leader was an acquaintance, Vortex Yuka.

Vortex Yuka felt a sense of calm upon seeing the fox mask.

"Captain Ling, Fox, I didn't expect it to be you two. Where's Horned Ox?"

Captain Ling said, "Horned Ox sacrificed himself to gather intelligence on Kirigakure."

A look of shame appeared on Vortex Yuka's face: "I'm sorry. We will never forget the sacrifices the Konoha Ninja made for us."

"Konoha and Uzushiogakure are allies; this is what we should do."

Night Light was a bit surprised that Captain Ling would say such a tender thing.

The two squads moved together. Vortex Yuka was to seal a powerful, rogue Ninja Beast.

While the Vortex Ninja were scouting, Captain Ling spoke to Night Light:

"Fox, use Vortex Yuka's good impression of you to get close to her. Especially during combat, you must stay by her side, within two steps. The target is the Adamantine Chains scroll. If necessary, you can kill Vortex Yuka and frame the Kirigakure."

"Understood, Squad Leader."

By a small lake, Vortex Yuka directed three Vortex Ninja to set up three traps.

In each trap, Exploding Tag were buried at the bottom, with large barbed wire nets above.

It seemed they intended to blast the barbed wire nets into the air.

After setting up the traps, everyone hid in the woods by the lake.

Night Light lay in a bush, not far from Vortex Yuka's hiding spot.

Unexpectedly, Vortex Yuka voluntarily came to Night Light's side.

The two lay on the ground together, their bodies concealed by the bushes, staring at the lake outside.

The battles of ordinary Ninja are not as earth-shattering as those of Kage-level Ninja; many times, they involve tedious searching and quiet lurking in the bushes.

Every Ninja has their own survival wisdom, especially the weaker ones, who must be even more careful and cautious.

Vortex Yuka quietly asked, "Fox, can you tell me your name?"

"Sorry, I cannot."

A flicker of disappointment crossed Vortex Yuka's eyes, but she immediately said, "I know, you're a Senju Spy in the Anbu, so you can't say, you can't take risks."

Night Light did not answer, neither denying nor admitting, feigning mystery, which only deepened Vortex Yuka's misunderstanding.

Night Light searched his memory; he had only seen some Senju Clan Ninja during Ninja School.

After the Second Hokage's sacrifice, the Senju Clan had always proclaimed their desire to restore the Senju's glory.

The entire clan was as if injected with stimulants; even children shouted about becoming Hokage.

For example, Senju Nawaki in the original story, who, while at Ninja School, already declared he would become Hokage.

If Night Light were to return to the village now and declare he would become Hokage, no one would care. But if Senju Nawaki declared he would become Hokage, many people would take it seriously. People are different.

"Miss Yuka, what are you trying to capture?"

"Spear Egret, a relatively rare flying Ninja Beast," Vortex Yuka said.

"Every Vortex Ninja can sign a contract with their own Summoning Beast.

Sealing Jutsu itself is not inherently strong, but after signing contracts with Summoning Beasts with various special abilities, one's strength will experience a qualitative leap."

Night Light felt a bit envious.

The Three Sannin's Sacred Land Summoning Beasts, each one alone was enough to overwhelm a Chunin or even a Jonin.

Not to mention the Kirigakure and Kirigakure's jealousy, even the Konoha Ninja were very jealous.

Night Light slightly turned his head, looking through the gaps in the bush leaves upwards and to the side, just catching sight of Captain Ling's mask.

Captain Ling was hidden in the tree canopy to the side, his eyes within the mask seeming closed or squinted.

The strongest in the Vortex squad was Vortex Yuka, and Captain Ling was constantly observing her.

Night Light waited for a long time but didn't see Captain Ling shift his attention, so he didn't take any action.

The ground was damp and warm, with insects crawling by occasionally.

Vortex Yuka didn't realize Captain Ling was constantly watching her; she carefully shifted under the bush, avoiding insects crawling onto her body.

As she wriggled, she exposed more of her pale chest.

Night Light remained unmoved, raising his mask slightly to hide his eyes, carefully watching Captain Ling.

He ate two soldier pills, squatting from morning until evening.

The sun was setting in the west, and it grew darker under the bushes.

Suddenly, a black dot appeared in the distance, flying at an extremely fast speed.

"It's here! The Spear Egret is returning to its nest!"

It was a White Heron about 3 meters long, with a hard, slender beak a meter long at the front; the rest of its neck and body were very slender.

After retracting its wings, the Spear Egret possessed an extremely fast dive speed.

Seeing Captain Ling's gaze drawn to the Spear Egret, Night Light quietly asked, "Yuka, do you have a poison needle?"

"Poison needle? Yes!"

Vortex Yuka took out a poison needle from her Ninja tool pouch.

Night Light didn't know toxicology and had no poison.

To deal with the powerful Captain Ling, he had to use poison.

He took out a hemostatic agent, smeared the agent on his Kunai, and then put the poison into his Ninja tool pouch.

Fox's series of actions greatly confused Yuka.

Dipping a Kunai in medicine, stopping bleeding while chopping?

Just then, the Exploding Tag trap exploded.

Three large nets were blasted into the sky, one of which entangled the Spear Egret's wings.

Vortex Yuka had no time to ponder Night Light's strange behavior and immediately jumped out, rushing towards the Spear Egret.

Seeing Vortex Yuka leave, Captain Ling's attention completely shifted, and only then did Night Light quickly take out the poison and inject it into the hemostatic agent in mid-air.

Everything was ready, just waiting for an opportunity to act against Captain Ling.

According to the Squad Leader's arrangement, Night Light couldn't leave Vortex Yuka, so he also rushed out.

The Spear Egret's wings were tangled in the barbed wire, preventing it from flying, and it fell to the ground.

Its spear-like beak was exceptionally sharp; the first Vortex Ninja to rush forward had his thigh pierced by the beak.

That spear-like beak was practically a spear.

He couldn't imagine how destructive this Ninja Beast would be if it were to dive.

The Spear Egret's neck was long and strong, constantly retracting and pecking forward, preventing the Vortex Ninja from getting close.

"I'll do it!"

Vortex Yuka jumped forward, forming hand signs to use Self-Inflicted Curse Sealing.

The curse mark crawled up the Spear Egret's slender legs, then up its wings, its neck, finally binding the Spear Egret.

The Spear Egret was still struggling, its body trembling.

Vortex Yuka explained to the Fox beside her, "Next is a long period of taming. This Ninja Beast is too big; we must first exhaust it before using the Contract Summoning Jutsu."

Night Light slightly turned his head, finding that Captain Ling still hadn't appeared, still hidden in the tree canopy.

The struggle lasted a long time, and Vortex Yuka finally suppressed the Spear Egret; the Ninja Beast's eyes revealed a plea.

Seeing the time was ripe, Vortex Yuka took out the scroll hidden on her thigh under her skirt.

It was the Adamantine Chains sealing scroll!

Just then, the situation suddenly changed.

As Vortex Yuka, Night Light, and the three Vortex Ninja focused their attention on the sealing scroll, two Kirigakure squads, who had been ambushed for a long time, suddenly rushed out from the side.

The scroll!

The Kirigakure squad wanted to snatch the sealing scroll to study the secrets of the Vortex Clan's Sealing Jutsu.

To deal with the Kirigakure, Vortex Yuka had no choice but to release the Spear Egret from the Self-Inflicted Curse Sealing.

The Spear Egret's slender legs went weak, and it fell to the ground.

Vortex Yuka wasn't much better; sweat soaked her tight clothing, also drenching her skirt.

Her skirt clung tightly to her waist and hips, as if she had just been pulled from the water.

The Kirigakure rushed over, and their Squad Leader instantly cut down a Vortex Ninja.

Night Light blocked a Ninja blade, standing in front of Yuka.

Captain Ling finally jumped down from the tree canopy and engaged in a one-on-one fight with the nearest Kirigakure.

With Captain Ling's strength, he could definitely instantly kill that Kirigakure, yet he fought back and forth.

Night Light immediately understood that Captain Ling was slacking off. Because he was good at slacking, he recognized it at a glance.

If the Squad Leader was slacking, Night Light had to slack even more.

He was forced back by a Kirigakure, his side almost sliced open, forcing him to dodge.

This also exposed Vortex Yuka.

Vortex Yuka raised the scroll.

This scroll was originally for sealing Ninja Beasts, but now it had to be used against the Kirigakure.

Captain Ling suddenly shouted, "Grab it!"

This command was given to the Fox; the Anbu also wanted a complete Adamantine Chains scroll.

Night Light turned and swung his Kunai, stabbing into Vortex Yuka's abdomen!
