Chapter 6: The Invitation

Peter sat in the back of a sleek black car, the city lights of Elvania passing by like fleeting memories. Gong Yoo sat beside him in silence, staring out the window, sword sheathed at his hip like it belonged there.

Neither spoke.

Finally, the car stopped in front of a towering skyscraper with no name, just a glowing white symbol on the front — the insignia of Ecos.

They stepped into a massive elevator. As it rose, Peter could feel his heart pounding louder with every second.

When the doors opened, he was led into a large room — sleek, dark, silent.

A voice broke the stillness. Cold. Chilling.

"So you came."

Peter turned.

Seated behind a glass desk, surrounded by holographic screens, was a man in a white coat over a black suit — dark hair, sharp eyes that pierced through skin and soul.

Chairman Manhattan Choi.

Leader of the Hounds of Ecos.

An S-rank Saviour.

He smiled — the kind that made you feel like prey.

"I've been watching you, Peter," Choi said softly. "Your growth… in just a few hours. You stood against a C-rank. You adapted. You survived. Tell me…"

He leaned forward.

"…Are you a Saviour?"

Peter swallowed. "Not really. I don't even know what I am yet."

Choi chuckled. "Even more intriguing."

He stood and slowly circled the room.

"I want to apologize, you know," he said calmly. "About your father. About your teacher."

He stopped beside Peter.

"Rico was proud. Too proud. That's why we ended him. But as a gesture of goodwill…"

He smiled again.

"I'd like to offer you a place in Ecos. Wealth. Training. Power. Money will never be a problem again."

Peter was stunned. "You're… offering me a position?"

Before he could reply, the doors opened again.

A new presence entered the room.

Radiant. Calm. Dangerous.

A tall young man with white wolf-cut hair, wearing a black jacket over a white T-shirt and fitted black jeans, walked in with a lazy confidence. His sneakers were spotless. His aura? Like something divine — holy and terrifying all at once.

Peter instinctively stepped back.

Choi looked up and smiled.

"Ah… Nick. So you came back."

The young man bowed his head slightly. "Yes, Chairman."

He turned to Peter, scanning him with sky-blue eyes.

"So this is the one who stood toe-to-toe with a C-rank?" Nick said, voice smooth and amused. "He's got potential. I like him."

Peter didn't know what to say. His mind spun in every direction.

Before he could speak, Choi waved a hand.

"Jassy," he said to the woman standing at the corner of the room — his secretary, dressed in a black suit and heels, with an icy expression.

"Take Peter home. Let him think. Carefully."

Nick walked past Peter and whispered with a smile, "I hope you say yes. It'll be fun."

---

In the car…

Peter sat beside Jassy, who drove with one hand on the wheel and eyes never leaving the road.

He broke the silence. "You're really taking me home?"

Jassy didn't look at him.

"I'm taking you to the edge," she said. "What happens next is up to you."

Peter narrowed his eyes.

"You don't want me to join, do you?"

Jassy finally glanced at him.

"I don't care what I want," she replied. "But if you don't join… things are going to get real bad, real fast. For you. And maybe for the people around you."

The car stopped.

"Think about it," she said flatly.

Peter stepped out, and the car disappeared into the dark.

---

Back in his apartment…

The room was quiet. Too quiet.

Peter stood in front of the mirror, fists shaking.

"This world… it's insane."

He opened his palm.

"System," he whispered. "I want to train. Again. In the dimension. Now."

> [Acknowledged.]

Pocket Training Dimension initiating…

Warning: This round will be

more intense.

> Prepare yourself.

The room faded away.

And Peter braced for the storm.
