Chapter 3: We're Go

I remembered the mission — to raid that village.

I had no idea where it was.

So I asked the system.

> "Village: Nguyên Sơn — Direction: North."

I packed the infinite water, dismantled the campfire, and started moving.

Along the way, I checked on the last undead I revived:

---

Name: Huyền Thụy

Status: Undead

Skill: None

---

"Only one of them is worth anything…" I muttered.

Vãn Vinh. The one with strategy. The rest were just walking bones.

Soon, I arrived at a dusty path. Skeletons half-buried under dead leaves.

Their time had long passed.

And then — the village appeared.

People were hiding behind broken walls. Bodies lay forgotten.

"Damn… someone already came through here."

A shadow emerged. A massive man — bloodstained, eyes glowing with madness.

> "Heh. Another one to kill."

He charged.

But before he could reach me — a zombie grabbed his leg.

Two others leapt and bit deep into his arms.

> "What the hell?!"

Then Vãn Vinh moved.

One precise snap — the man dropped like a rock.

> [Zombie Level Up: Lv. 2]

I walked up to the body. Reached down. Energy flickered.

The corpse stood again. His eyes glowed. He knelt.

> "Master."

> [Name: Vĩnh Trương]

[Status: Undead]

[Skills: Intelligence, Strength]

[Level: 8]

A rare one. A mutant. Strong, smart, loyal.

From the windows, villagers stared.

Afraid. Starving. Barely alive.

An old man stepped out.

> "Please… don't hurt us."

I tossed him a fish.

He froze — then burst into tears.

> "F-Food…? For me…?"

I said nothing. Just handed out more.

They ate. They cried.

> [Mission Complete: Water Supply Restored]

[Reward: Infinite Water Source – Added to Inventory]

I walked to the dead villagers. Used potions.

One by one — they opened their eyes.

They had been killed by that monster. Now, he was mine.

They knelt and whispered:

> "Is he… a god?"

I turned to them.

> "No. I just make better use of the dead."

Then I pointed to the ground.

> "Dig. We need water."

They obeyed.

They cried again — when they found it.

> "He really saved us…"

The old man asked:

> "Are you here to help?"

I didn't answer.

But deep down — maybe I was.
