Madam Hooch didn't blame Ivan; instead, she hurried over to Neville to check on his injuries.
"Madam Hooch, is Neville alright?" Ivan asked.
Ivan thought that his intervention should have cushioned the fall somewhat, preventing more serious injuries.
"He's fine, just a few minor injuries," Madam Hooch said after a brief examination, helping Neville, whose face was bruised and swollen, to his feet.
The sight of Neville falling straight down from such a height had nearly given her a heart attack, so even though his injuries weren't severe, Madam Hooch insisted on taking him to the hospital wing.
"Alright, children, I'm taking Neville to the hospital. I expect you all to stay here and behave yourselves until I return. No unauthorized flying!"
After saying this, Madam Hooch led Neville, who still had tears streaming down his face, towards the castle.
Once they were far enough away, the Slytherin students burst into laughter, with Draco Malfoy leading the mockery.
"Did you see him? That big oaf, that sniveling idiot, falling from the sky! I bet he'll never dare to ride a broom again."
"Enough, Malfoy!" Harry couldn't stand it any longer and stepped forward to silence Malfoy.
However, instead of showing remorse, Malfoy only intensified his taunts. "Oh, my! Potter is friends with that big oaf!"
"Of course, we're friends! And you're not allowed to call Neville that!" Harry retorted angrily.
Ivan frowned upon hearing this. He remembered from the movies that Malfoy was just a spoiled brat, though not inherently bad.
As Ivan was thinking this, he suddenly heard Malfoy pointing at him.
"Friends? Like him? Friends who help him get points and then drop the big oaf out of the sky?"
Ivan's lips twitched. He took a step forward, rolled up his sleeves, and punched Malfoy squarely in the face, knocking him to the ground.
MMP, spoiled brats are the worst!
"You dare hit me? I'll have my father hear about this! He'll get you expelled!" Malfoy shouted, clutching his swelling cheek as he scrambled to his feet.
Ivan wasn't worried about Malfoy's threats. Lucius Malfoy might be a Hogwarts governor, but he didn't have the authority to directly expel a student. Dumbledore wouldn't expel him over something like this, especially since he was friends with the Boy Who Lived, Harry.
"Nice one, Ivan!" Ron said, rolling up his sleeves and stepping forward. He had never liked Malfoy.
"Enough! Ivan, Ron, what will Madam Hooch think if she comes back and sees you fighting? You'll be expelled!" Hermione looked at Ivan and Ron, distraught and almost hysterical.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Malfoy mounted his broom and flew into the air.
Perhaps the height gave Malfoy a sense of security. Having just been punched, he showed no remorse, instead pulling out a crystal ball and holding it high for everyone to see.
"Look what I have here! The big oaf's crystal ball! Let me think, where should I hide it? Maybe throw it into a tree? Aren't you friends with the big oaf? Come and get it!"
"Malfoy!"
Harry was furious. Ignoring Hermione's pleas, he mounted his broom and chased after Malfoy.
Despite it being his first time flying, Harry was surprisingly steady. Soon, the two were engaged in a mid-air scuffle.
Seeing this, Ivan naturally intended to help. He put his broom between his legs, copied Harry's take-off posture, hoping to experience the feeling of flight.
However, the broom seemed to have a mind of its own. No matter how much Ivan shook the top of the broom, it wouldn't budge.
Move, move! Why aren't you moving?
Ivan dejectedly patted the broomstick, then remembered that he hadn't even completed the first step of connecting with the broom.
Fortunately, before Ivan could stand there dumbfounded for too long, Hermione stood in front of him with her arms outstretched.
"Ivan, are you planning to break the rules too?" The little witch glared at Ivan.
"No, I think Harry can handle it himself without me." Ivan quickly dropped the broom on the ground and shrugged nonchalantly, gesturing for Hermione to look up.
Harry, riding his broom, was like a fish in water, quickly gaining the upper hand over Malfoy. Hermione even suspected that Harry had practiced before coming to school.
However, Malfoy was clearly not going to give up so easily. Seeing that he was no match for Harry, he decisively threw the glass ball into the distance.
"Here, catch!" Malfoy said sinisterly.
The glass ball flew far away under Malfoy's throw, and Harry followed with a dive, nearly crashing into the bricks of the castle, before swooping down after the glass ball.
"No, Harry, stop!"
Hermione shouted in horror, while Malfoy laughed loudly until he saw Harry catch the glass ball with a beautiful swoop and stop. Malfoy's smile froze on his face.
However, neither Malfoy nor Harry noticed Professor McGonagall's surprised expression at a window in the distance.
Hermione and the others, who had been worried about Harry, breathed a sigh of relief, and Ron drew his wand.
"We're going to teach Malfoy a lesson!"
"Leg-Locker Curse!" Ron shouted the Leg-Locker Curse that he had just learned in Charms class.
In class, Ron had luckily used it once, causing a test toad's hind legs to stick together for an entire class.
However, this time luck was not on Ron's side. The black wand only emitted a puff of strange white smoke and had no other reaction.
Malfoy, flying in the sky on his broom, was initially startled and even prepared to dodge, but upon seeing Ron's embarrassment, he burst into laughter.
Ron's cheeks were flushed red, and he was so angry that he wanted to jump into the air and stick the wand in Malfoy's mouth!
"I'd better do it." Seeing Ron's frustrated look, Ivan sighed helplessly. After resting for a while, he could still cast one or two spells.
However, to avoid accidents, Ivan turned to Hermione, who seemed a little bewildered by the various changes.
"Hermione, you still remember the Levitation Charm spell, right?"
"Of course," Hermione looked at Ivan strangely and nodded hesitantly.
What are you asking this for?
"That's good." Before Hermione could understand, Ivan raised his wand while speaking softly.
