Chapter 2 - Something Was Left Behind

Goron sneaks closer to Zeith and hides behind the blossom tree.

Zeith is his best friend. He has brown curly hair, black eyes, and a muscular build. He never goes outside with any girl.

He concentrates on their talk:

"But I guess it is the right time to talk to Goron about our relationship," Zeith says.

"It is clear that you are a couple," Goron whispers.

"It's hard to say, I know that," the girl says.

Goron looks closer to the person next to Zeith. She is beautiful with blonde hair and black eyes, and she is wearing a gorgeous dress with sparkling beads attached to it.

She looks like a noble in the kingdom.

"Wait, she holds something."

Goron looks closer. Suddenly, she turns around and sees clearly that a mysterious boy is standing behind the tree.

"AHHHHHHHHHH," she yells.

"What's up?" Zeith panicked when he heard the scream.

Goron hides again behind the tree.

"What should I do, what should I do?" Goron says with panic.

Zeith picks up a tree branch on the ground and closely approaches Goron.

"Who is that?" Zeith yells.

Normally, he doesn't act dangerously like he is right now, but he needs to protect the girl.

Goron knows that he will be caught.

"It's me, Goron."

"What are you doing here?" Zeith is both surprised and relieved.

"I just got here by chance. I promise."

"No! He was looking at me," the girl retorts.

" I just came here and saw a girl next to Zeith, and I looked closer to find out who you are?" Goron explains.

"Alright, stop!" Zeith seems to be impatient.

"Come here, Goron."

Goron and the girl stop talking, but they still glare at each other. The trio sits in a circle.

"This is Sylia," Zeith points to the girl.

"Nice to meet you," Goron says

"He told me about you a thousand times," Sylia admits.

"Wait, what?"

"Don't care about it. Anyway, I have something to tell you, Goron," Zeith becomes serious.

"Are you a couple?" Goron curiously says.

"No, what are you thinking?" Zeith says.

"We are stepbrothers," Sylia says.

Goron doesn't believe what's going on now. His eyes look at Zeith's face to ensure that it is true.

Zeith nods to accept that.

"But, how?" Goron still doesn't believe it.

"My mom remarried a nobleman last week, and Sylia is his daughter," Zeith explains.

Goron doesn't talk anymore. He wants to leave.

"It means that you are going to go to the kingdom," Goron says with sadness.

"Yes, I'm sorry. But you will always be welcome in our home."

"When do you leave?" Goron asks.

"Right now."

A loud noise disrupts their conversation. It's a horse-drawn carriage that runs to this field, and it stops right in front of them. The carriage itself was painted deep royal blue with carved crystals on it.

A woman steps down from the carriage; it's Zeith's mother. Goron can see two other men sitting inside the carriage.

"Oh, Goron, nice to meet you," she says.

"Nice to meet you," Goron replies.

She is tall and slim with brown, wavy hair.

"Sorry, but now we need to move to the kingdom."

"No problem," Goron says, but he knows that this is painful.

She turns to Zeith and Sylia:

"It's time to go."

Sylia gets in the carriage quickly, leaving the private space to the boys.

"It has been 5 years now, since we were just 5-year-old kids, I still remember you were crying the first time we met, " Zeith says.

Goron wipes out the tears.

"And it's unchanged now," Zeith smiles.

"I will come to your place soon. Both of us have promised to become the best swordsmen in the kingdom." Goron says.

"Right."

Zeith gets in the carriage, waves goodbye to Goron.

Through the carriage's windows, Zeith can see a boy with black hair and blue eyes waving back to him.

"I will become the best swordsman to find you," Goron says, "see you in the kingdom."
