Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

"The moon looks beautiful tonight, I say as I look outside my bedroom window, completely oblivious of the time.

Eh I don't really have time to be depressed right now, I say as I pull the sheets over my head

In my dream state , I felt my body being repeatedly shook and my name repeatedly called

Mhmm, I said as I opened my eyes just to meet those of my Mother's, her stance firm and her mood unwavering

Heck, what have I done wrong this time,

As though she was reading my mind, her fingers swiftly pointed to the alarm clock which had apparently being ringing for hours, or so I was told

My eyes widened at the sudden discovery, in a rush , I got up from the bed and hurried over to the bathroom

What have I done, I had woken up late, on the First! day of school, not that I was particularly enthusiastic about going to school, but breaking any of the rules, like waking up late!!, Was not in my nature

it simply never happened before, I would know, because we weren't allowed to break or flout any of the rules

We all had to be detained....in that way.

As soon as I got out of the bathroom, I quickly got dressed and ran to my mother to inquire about my transportation fee

Slowly her eye left the comfort of her phone screen, and landed coldly on me, then in a calm and composed manner , she said just a word

Trek;,

Hurriedly I picked up my bag and ran out the gate, silently praying the school assembly hasn't begun yet.

Sweat trickled down my face as I reached our school 's entryway, without stopping or waiting to hear the questions from the the gate keeper's curious face I ran inside

Through the classrooms and into the halls, and on reaching the assembly hall, I pushed the gates open, and as I made to step inside, I was struck by thousands of peering eyes, all of them shifted at my direction

My breath hitched, and in my shame, I fixed my gaze to the ground and slowly went on to blend amongst the crowd of students, who were without a doubt silently judging me

A couple of minutes went by, and by that time, I was starting to feel at ease thinking my embarrassing ordeal was over

That was until, I heard a name, a name which when called resounded the walls and everyone in the hall, A name that was in fact my name.

I could feel my heart in a state of turmoil,as I stepped out of my hiding place, and as I walked through the crowd of students, that was when the murmurs began

Most of them wasn't even trying to be discreet , I could make out what most of the we're,

What's up with this one, she must have main character syndrome, look at her, head on high thinking she's better than everyone

All these , I've heard before , but that was until, I heard someone mutter, she looks nice, nice?,this unexpected statement subconsciously brought me to a stop, causing me to turn my head looking for who made the statement, but by the ideal looks of everyone, I couldn't fantom who said it

I look nice?, I thought to myself, I hadn't had time to look decent, cause of the rush, but someone thought I looked nice..

The students were already looking at me in anticipation, checking to know if any of their words struck a nerve

At that moment I heard someone clear their throat, The administrator, whose patience was clearly growing thin

Understanding the situation, I quickly climbed up the podium, suddenly a student was signaled, grabbing a case, the student came up to the podium and handed it to the administrator , quickly leaving Immideatly after they were done

To my surprise when the administrator opened the case, it was a medal, my eyes drooped in disappointment, the administrator quickly hung it around my neck, and the very moment he did

The entire hall eluded in an appluase,in this scenario any other student, might've been happy, but not me, this is like a night mare

AN INTROVERT'S NIGHMARE ,

Not long after the assembly was concluded, we were all instructed to head to our various classes

Mine was class 3D, which was located all the way in the back of the second hall, almighty class 3D,

With a heavy sigh, I entered my class, my medal tucked in, hidden by the collar of my shirt,

Immideatly I entered , I was greeted with a look, which lasted for a whole five seconds, before they went back to what they were doing , before I "graced" them with my presence

Immidiately entering the room, I scanned it as it was now a habit, looking for the best sitting arena, for a nerd like me

The front:

Nah I didn't want to seem more of a nerd, than I already was, ugh nerd, I hated that name

The back:

a good observing place, sometimes quiet, most times noisy,I would've liked it but two reasons held me back

a) I'm going to get beaten to the point of no way of resuscitation, cause of those low brained menaces

b)I can't see from the back, cause of my myophia aka short-sightedness

Many options to choose from, but many cons , so I decided the window side, gives me Mc vibes

.....time went by and I later got to know why I received the medal , apparently I had aced the last semester's examination, I smirked clearly proud of myself, maybe my parents will be too

Boredom soon engulfed my mind as I shifted uncomfortably in my desk, I felt this eye on me, not one of animosity or blind rage, simply one of pure curiosity

I quickly turned and yet again saw no one looking my direction

Hmm, I sighed as I vegged into my chair, I was so desperate for positive attention, that I've started making things up

The voice at the assembly must've been a deep fake too, if not what explains how no one else but I heard it

Yep.... I'm going crazy, seems I've drawn back into my maladaptive dreaming, who needs friends when you can indulge yourself in your delusions

After the lesson was over, I heaved back into my chair, watching everyone chatter away their time with their friends

My smile dropped as I stared at my desk.

Before I knew it the bell rang for dismissal, worry filled my heart, for in my mind , my mother's punishment rang a worry
