Victoria's POV

A low groan escaped my lips as my eyes fluttered open, the world around me spinning in disjointed shadows.

Everything hurt—especially my head. It felt like someone had driven a spike through my skull, and every throb echoed with a pressure that made it hard to breathe. My limbs were numb, and heavy, as if they didn't belong to me. My vision was blurry, but the unmistakable scent of stone and dampness filled my lungs.

And then I realized—I was being carried.

Rough, strong arms cradled me like I was nothing more than a doll, and the air around us was cold and thick with ancient magic.

Caligo.

Panic flickered at the edge of my dazed mind, but my body refused to respond.
