Once the allied forces had departed, Queen Lilieth placed and hand on Rune's shoulder while offering some encouragement.
"Don't die."
Those were the only words she left before slithering away. He was left alone with Stella, Raya, Shiro, Rienn, Carin, and Miriam, and a palace guard who would lead them back to the entrance of the underground caverns.
After safely hiding them to the entrance the guard gave a salute before heading on her way.
"We should get going, too," Rune said. Everyone nodded.
The path way was dark with only the light of magically power torches on the walls to guide them. The narrow passage went on and on, deep underground. As they continued onward, the narrow space gradually opened up and there was an encroaching feeling of dread.
