Outside the bustling city, there were only hills and endless forests. On one of those quiet hills stood Sorata, a 19-year-old with silver-white hair, wearing a purple short-sleeved shirt over a white inner layer. His gaze was fixed on the distant city as the wind played with his hair.
"Are you sure this is the place? Looks very different from before" he asked, turning slightly toward the red-haired man beside him.
Shinki, clad in a flowing red cloak, nodded. "The orders were clear. We're looking for a kid with white hair who possesses demonic energy."
Suddenly, a deep and rough voice echoed behind them.
"I can't take this anymore."
Garou, covered from head to toe in metal armor, let out a growl. "I have the urge to kill. Wasting time like this pisses me off."
Sorata scowled and turned around. "Shut the hell up. The city knows we're here already. One stupid wrong move and we're all dead. And plus I don't have the strength to leave a comrade behind and start thinking of ways to save em."
He looked back toward the city, eyes gleaming with a dangerous light. "High-class assassins are bound to show up soon…" A wide grin crept across his face. "Looks like I'll finally have some fun.", he said thus with a psychotic smile on his face as the wind played with his hair.
Shinki narrowed his eyes. "I'm sensing trouble."
In an instant, like a gust of wind, all three vanished from the hill.
In the forest...
Perched lazily on a high tree branch, Diablo sat, his expression bored and drowsy.
"Man… something interesting better happen soon."
As if answering his wish, a crimson lightning bolt shot from the sky, blasting the ground and shaking the entire area.
BOOM!
Smoke and dirt flew. Diablo yawned, glancing down casually. "'Bout time."
Out of the smoke stepped Shinki, his sword drawn and eyes sharp. Diablo blinked slowly, then smirked.
"You with the Dark Sign Organization?"
Shinki didn't respond to the question. Instead, he asked, "Do you know a boy with white hair… who gives off demonic energy?"
Diablo's grin widened. "Happen to be his teacher."
Before the words finished, a red beam fired from Shinki's sword. Diablo flipped upside down off the branch, dodging mid-yawn. The beam struck with devastating force, obliterating hills and burning away half the forest.
Still covered in smoke, Diablo descended from the tree. "I'm starting to like you."
Elsewhere on the battlefield...
From a hilltop, Sorata's eyes locked on a figure in the distance.
"You must be Tomoa."
Tomoa scowled. "And you're Sorata?"
Sorata's grin returned — darker than before. Black magic circles appeared on Tomoa's arms.
"Get ready," Tomoa growled.
"Mmmn, you sure switch gears fast" Sorata replied, still grinning.
Meanwhile, Levi and Garo clashed nearby. Rods launched from Garou's body, while Levi's arms transformed into machine guns, firing a barrage of bullets.
"I don't like how this is gonna end," Levi muttered as the battle intensified while both himself and his opponent were wiping trees and moving at hypersonic speeds
Back in the forest...
Diablo and Shinki clashed at light-speed, zig-zagging like bolts of lightning. Explosions erupted with each impact, carving devastation into the terrain.
Diablo chuckled mid-fight. "You're the first in a while to make me use five percent of my power."
Shinki pulled back, then unleashed red energy beams shaped like giant blades. Diablo stood in place, arms folded, as the attacks missed him and struck everything else.
Frustrated, Shinki intensified his barrage. "Why can't I hit him? Is he… absorbing the energy to form a barrier?"
Diablo began clapping. "Clever. You figured it out."
Shinki switched tactics, lunging with his sword. Diablo weaved through the slashes, grinning. Clones of Shinki surrounded him, attacking from every angle.
"Clones, huh? Not a bad trick." Diablo smirked. "It's been ages since I fought someone fun."
He dodged every strike as he spoke. "You see, I was born with a gift. I can create techniques just by thinking of them… copy others' moves just by watching… and predict your next action before you even think of it."
The clones activated a move called Death Circle. A giant magic ring trapped Diablo beneath them.
"You're finished," Shinki said, stepping forward.
Diablo smiled, unfazed. "Hell of a fight…"
Massive red lightning rained down, causing a colossal explosion that wiped out half the forest. Shinki approached the burned figure on the ground… only to find a doll. "What the hell? A doll?!"
In the skies above...
Sorata hovered, purple destructive energy surging all over his body. Below him, Tomoa was beaten and bruised mid-air.
"Still wanna fight?" Sorata mocked.
"Shut the hell up!" Tomoa yelled, unleashing a storm of magic circles that shot destructive orbs at him.
Sorata was flying and dodging each attack at the speed of lightning with explosions all over the sky, he started to retaliate with his own blast of purple energy which was causing explosions that could wipe out a large portion of the city. The impact rocked the sky, lighting it up.
"Let's take this to the next level!" Sorata declared.
Tomoa unleashed rapid-fire black destructive orbs, encircling Sorata with countless magic circles that detonated simultaneously.
Panting, Tomoa thought it was over "Tch. Finally dealt with him"… until Sorata appeared behind him.
"Not quite."
With a crushing punch, Sorata sent Tomoa crashing to the ground in an earth-shaking explosion. He floated down slowly.
"Disappointing. Especially for someone trained by Lord Kojin."
He stepped on Tomoa's face. "Go to hell."
But then… both sensed it.
A terrifying power surged.
Shinki stood far away, forming a giant fireball, enormous enough to obliterate an entire city in seconds.
Panic spread across the city as people watched the sky light up in horror. Some citizens who were trained soldiers were preparing to fight as they're powers started to activate, some were running to safety and some were helping others to run.
Sorata grinned. "Everything… is going according to plan."
Diablo, watching, sighed. "Too lazy to stop that."
Just as the fireball descended, a new figure appeared — Kojin.
With every ounce of his strength, he grabbed the fireball, lifting it skyward. With a final push, he soared into the sky.
BOOOOOOOM!
A devastating explosion split the sky, the shockwave tearing into the earth. Trees were sent flying, rocks were sent flying, even hills were destroyed from the mere shock wave of this attack.
Kojin fell from the sky, burned on a few body parts and unconscious. Tomoa, eyes wide in horror, pushed sorata off him and blasted himself into the sky to help kojin.
"Kojin!!" he cried out, trying to wake him.
Kojin opened his eyes for a moment. "I'm… okay…". They both landed on the floor and kojin had somewhat passed out.
