"Are you okay?" Saffron asked as we walked down the hall leading the palace lobby.
I nodded. "Yeah, no side effects."
"Does summoning a guardian angel even have a side effect?" Alli asked, looking up at us.
Saffron hummed. "I'm not that well versed in how it works. I do know they can still fight if their protectee faints."
I bounced Anis in my arms. That was good. If anything knocked my out, Amaryllis could still protect us. Assuming I could summon her before passing out.
Saffron put a hand on my back. "Lean on me if you have to."
My cheeks warmed up. Smiling, I gave him a small nod.
Sil, walking just ahead of us, was practically vibrating with excitement. "I can't wait to build the biggest sandcastle ever!" he declared, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "And find all the big shells for Anis!"
Alli cleared her throat. "I'll be the one finding the big shells for our niece, little bro."
