Chapter 588 - Chapter 588: Sharinguru vs Maya

Sharinguru looked at Maya. "The Love Pirates have been a thorn in our sights," Sharinguru said. "The sights for the Marines," he added.

He looked at Maya. She looked like a regular woman. "You are all evil," he said.

Maya didn't flinch. "We are not evil," she replied. She thought the Goddess would never lead her down a stray path.

Sharinguru's jaw clenched, his resentment boiling beneath the surface. "Pirates are all evil, you destroy, loot, and kill," he remarked. "Wherever the Love Pirates go, there is destruction and chaos," he said. He pointed around him. There was carnage and flames and death. "Even here. Even at Enies Lobby," he added.

"At Enies Lobby, we came to save our sister," Maya stated.

Sharinguru scoffed. "She was a criminal," he shouted.

Maya's expression hardened. "What was her crime?" she asked. Her words hung in the air, a direct challenge.

Sharinguru didn't hesitate. "Defying the World Government," he responded.

"You said that last time," Maya responded. "It's cruel," she added. She thought that they were going to execute her.

Sharinguru's grip tightened. "Pirates are cruel, just like you," he said. His stance shifted. "Surrender," he added.

"I will never surrender to you," Maya responded. She thought her Goddess would guide her.

Sharinguru's arms snapped outward and spun violently. They looked like rotating buzzsaws.

"Spinning Strike," he said as his whirling limbs cut through the air. "You will go down," he said as he swung his fist.

Maya dodged left and right. She evaded his swings. Sharinguru adjusted. He targeted her head, his spinning arms zeroing in but she ducked effortlessly.

He then aimed for her chest, however Maya jumped back, avoiding him once again.

"You're fast," Sharinguru said.

Maya's expression remained calm. "Thank you," she responded.

Sharinguru gritted his teeth. His pride pushed him forward.

"Force Punch," Sharinguru said as he spun one arm rapidly. His arm turned into a whirling wrecking ball. He charged towards Maya.

Maya held her ground. "Cess Slice," Maya said as she swung her sword vertically. They both clashed.

The collision sent sparks flying, metal screeching. They pushed against each other—until they both jumped back.

Sharinguru refused to slow down, his body spinning even faster, his arms and legs moving like whirling blades. "Tornado Whirl," he said as a miniature cyclone erupted around him, kicking up dust and debris, and headed straight for Maya.

Maya saw the attack coming. "Cess Whirl," she said as she spun with her sword extended, the momentum adding force to her circular slash, her form becoming its own storm.

The two forces clashed, the tornado veering off course.

Sharinguru snapped back. He had been humiliated by Ben. Then by Conis. He thought he would not lose again.

Maya focused, her energy surged. Her sword glowed. There was raw power flooding through her blade. "Hex's Blast," Maya said as fired a massive red beam toward Sharinguru. The projectile soared through the air and closed in on Sharinguru.

"Roll Out," Sharinguru said as his legs twisted, morphing into wheels. He moved at breakneck speed and dodged the attack at the last second.

The beam struck the ground. A massive explosion erupted, flames bursting outward, debris scattering into the sky. Sharinguru skidded to a halt, smoke whirling around him.

Maya jumped towards Sharinguru through the smoke. "Cess Shear," Maya said as she gripped her sword and sliced horizontally at Sharinguru's chest. Sharinguru got hit. Blood left his wound. He spat more blood from his mouth.

However, Sharinguru quickly countered. "Force Punch," Sharinguru said as he spun his one arm rapidly and hit Maya in the stomach. Maya got hit with the attack. She spat blood and went flying back. She landed on her feet and panted.

She thought he was still a Captain.

"Rolling Thunder Drop," Sharinguru said as he leapt high into the air. He spun one of his legs rapidly like a wheel. He descended, the spinning leg generated intense momentum and force.

Maya smiled. She reached into her pocket. Her fingers curled around a familiar device, the Impact Dial. She held it firmly and pulled it out. Sharinguru, caught in his own momentum, came down. His strike connected but instead of damaging Maya, his own power was absorbed into the Impact Dial. It swallowed the energy.

Then her thumb pressed firmly against the button. The stored energy exploded outward, an invisible force blasting back with unrelenting fury. Sharinguru took the full brunt of his own attack, the force hammering into his chest, crushing the air from his lungs.

Blood spattered from his mouth as he was sent backward. His body whipped through the air and then he collided with the ground. His body skidded back uncontrollably, dust and debris erupting around him.

He finally stopped. His breath was ragged, his body trembling.

Maya lowered the Impact Dial.

"It is not over," Sharinguru said. He slowly got up. He spat blood again. "I will not lose," he shouted.

"Rolling Rampage," Sharinguru said as he transformed both arms into wheels and charged forward at high speed. He spun his arms rapidly like rotating tires. He touched the wall with his hand and he sliced through them. He rushed towards Maya.

"Guide me Ben, guide me my Goddess," Maya said. She looked at Sharinguru charging towards her. She concentrated. She felt the sword draw her energy. The red got brighter and brighter. She swung her sword. "Hex`s Arc Wave," Maya said as she fired a large red beam at Sharinguru.

The beam streaked across the battlefield, its radiant red glow cutting through the air with terrifying speed. It hit Sharinguru. His body jerked violently. A shockwave erupted, flames and debris spiraling outward, the sheer impact sending him flying backward. His breath hitched, his mind failing to process the pain, his vision blurring as his body crashed onto the hard ground once more. The force burrowed him into the dirt, his limbs limp. There was blood dripping from his mouth.

Sharinguru's eyes flickered, his consciousness was slipping, the world darkening around him. And then everything faded.

"All the Captain`s are down," a Marine shouted.

"We need to leave," another shouted. They all started to grab each other and run back.

Pau Ra Pa, Rose General, Marianne, Nojiko, Zala, Saphir, Honey and Conis came towards Maya.

"Maya," Marianne shouted.

"Are you okay?" Saphir asked.

They saw there was blood on her lips. Her clothes looked a little rough.

"I did get hit but I am okay," Maya responded.

"Take a Heal Drink," Nojiko said.

At that moment, Robin, Raki and Kaya arrived. "Is everyone okay?" Kaya asked.

"Maya got hit," Honey responded.

"Divine Blessing," Kaya said she created a white orb in her hand and placed it onto Maya`s stomach. The white orb changed into a white light going all over her body. Her body glowed white for a few seconds. Her injuries healed.

"Wow," Conis said.

"It is an incredibly strong ability," Zala said.

"Like nothing happened," Robin added.

"Are you okay?" Nojiko asked.

"I am, we have a limited supply of Heal Drinks so I can do some here and there," Kaya said.

"Kaya, should we not tell Nojiko about the island?" Robin asked.

"Island?" Nojiko asked.

"Yes, Shimagame is heading straight towards an island," Kaya said. "We are a bit far, however if we dont change course we will hit it," she added.

They all looked shocked. "Let's go," Saphir said as she looked at the castle. They all nodded.

"Ben and the rest should be close anyway," Zala said.
