The old king knew the truth, a trace of sorrow flashing through his icy blue eyes.
As an elder, he only wished that the misguided child would learn to repent, but he wanted to give Lillian a chance. This child had ultimately disappointed him.
The old king frowned and let out a sigh, "Who helped her?"
Lillian's father Charli was still in prison under tight surveillance, and her brother had died five years ago. On her own, Lillian couldn't possibly have the ability to escape from prison.
"I'm still investigating," Lucas Walker answered.
"It seems... some people don't want you to ascend the throne so smoothly." The old king frowned, pondering for a moment. "Investigate the situation on the Conservative Party's side. If I'm not mistaken, they must be behind this."
"I'm already looking into it." Lucas Walker reached out to adjust the old king's blanket. "You must have faith in the future king."
The old king smiled faintly and nodded.
