I arch a brow at Lucas, staring him directly in the eye. "Your goal is to distract me?"
The man spreads his hands helplessly and shrugs.
"Can you blame me, beautiful? I'm bored, and you're ravishing."
"You can take your turn carrying May, if that's what you'd like." I shift the sleeping child in my arms, pointedly.
She's really out. It's endearing, actually. I can do without the bit of drooling, but the wild child being so deep asleep and softly snoring against my shoulder after being so wild is undeniably quite charming.
She is a bit heavy, though, and carrying her is restricting my ability to do anything other than carry her while she sleeps.
In other words - I won't complain if Lucas takes a turn with her.
I doubt May would complain waking up to one of her favorite people carrying her, either. Even if she playfully fights with Lucas off and on, he's always been better with kids than I am.
Granted, I won't deny how much May clearly likes me.
