May eventually manages to burn through that incredible stockpile of energy she has - despite how quickly it regenerates and builds up, even May can overplay her hand from time to time, and Katheryne is incredibly good at making that happen.
...And in a very May-like decision, as soon as she runs out of her energy, she claims my lap, drapes herself over my chest and torso, and falls asleep like a little - or perhaps big, given May's size - koala bear.
She's a surprisingly quiet sleeper.
Aside from the slight mumbling in her sleep, that is.
"She's like a puppy." Katheryne shakes her head. "Always got more in her tank, unless you really, truly exhaust her. And then she drops off right where she falls asleep."
"Almost..." Celeste murmurs. Her lips quirk up into a faint smile., as her gaze settles on the sleeping child in my arms.
