These divine dimensions still harbor ways to quietly return or connect with Earth. The Moon Knight is an example of such a means, serving as a medium to maintain this connection.
These pantheons originally emerged on Earth, and even though they were forced to leave Earth's dimension for various reasons, they would never fully abandon it.
Even though these pantheons have mostly abandoned the systems of faith and worship, it doesn't mean they wish to sever all ties with Earth.
Earth is a unique place in the universe and among many dimensions. Numerous pantheons won't give up on it entirely, thus they leave behind contingencies to maintain a degree of connection, whether through churches, mythological stories, the lineage of shadow hunters, or now, the Moon Knight.
Realizing he had stumbled upon a method left by a pantheon on Earth, Robert grew eager. It wasn't just the potential for unchecked destruction that intrigued him, but also the possibility of emulating Clark and Kara's solar power enhancements by developing a method to enhance himself using moonlight.
Robert had previously conceptualized this idea and had already managed to store some moonlight power within himself, completing the first step of his plan.
Robert's goal was different from the Moon Knight and werewolves, who could only slowly enhance their power in the presence of moonlight. He sought a way to permanently strengthen his body, akin to how Clark and Kara permanently enhance themselves with sunlight.
Neither the Moon Knight nor the werewolves could achieve such permanent enhancement. Robert thought perhaps the Moon God Khonshu, who wielded moonlight power, could inspire him to develop a method to permanently enhance himself with moonlight. Using this opportunity with the Moon Knight, Robert intended to locate Khonshu and his pantheon.
"Huh?" The Moon Knight was momentarily stunned by Robert's question, unsure how to respond. Robert seemed overly bold, as if he didn't fear the Moon God at all.
Even now, the Moon Knight had no clear understanding of how the Moon God communicated with him. Aside from the vague realm between life and death, he had never seen the Moon God's form. Even in that realm, he couldn't remember the Moon God's appearance.
Normally, the Moon God didn't contact the Moon Knight often. The two recent communications were unprecedented for the Moon Knight. He suspected that the Moon God might be observing Robert through him, leaving him baffled by Robert's fearless attitude.
"What do you mean 'huh'? Didn't you say you wanted to understand my power? It's simple. I can face your god directly, and he can figure out what power I'm using," Robert said, smiling at the stunned Moon Knight.
"Are you serious?" The Moon Knight was shocked by Robert's willingness to confront the god. He acknowledged Robert's strength but doubted he could match the Moon God. He believed Robert's transformation ability wouldn't work in front of the Moon God, who controlled moonlight power absolutely. In the Moon Knight's view, Robert was courting death.
"Would I joke about this? Hasn't your Moon God contacted you after hearing my words?" Robert shrugged. He was genuinely interested in feeling the power of this Moon God.
"No..." The Moon Knight's voice carried hesitation. He didn't know if the Moon God was aware of Robert's intention, leaving him uncertain about his choices.
"Well, your god hasn't refused me, has he? Maybe he's also looking forward to my visit," Robert said, smiling.
"Alright..." After waiting for further instructions from the Moon God and receiving none, the Moon Knight finally agreed. He had to investigate Robert's moonlight power, and he couldn't fight Robert alone. Taking Robert to the Moon God seemed the best option.
"Tell me the location. Near Egypt, right?" Robert asked, contacting the Guardians. A long-unused portal appeared beside the Moon Knight, who instantly grew wary as he sensed the spatial energy.
"It's okay, just a transit. It would be too slow to go to Egypt by your speed, and flying there would be uncouth. The portal is much faster," Robert reassured the Moon Knight, entering the portal with Kara. The Moon Knight, after some hesitation, followed them.
"They just left?" The Blade stared blankly at the spot where the trio vanished. He had expected more action but was now left in bewilderment as they ignored him and left.
The Blade hadn't left earlier out of fear of Robert's power, worrying that any abrupt move might provoke Robert. He didn't believe he could withstand Robert's attacks or that his vampire-fighting gear could handle Robert.
Yes, the Blade didn't see Robert as human, thinking he must be some extraordinary being he hadn't encountered before.
Unbeknownst to the Blade, Robert had already sent footage of the Blade, vampires, and werewolves to Tony Stark and Morbius. What they would do next was uncertain.
Robert, Kara, and the Moon Knight arrived at the magical base. Constantine, having recently scammed the Avengers, avoided coming out despite knowing Robert's arrival. He was preoccupied with his gains from the recent events.
However, the Guardians and Claire were waiting. Robert noticed Claire's significant improvement, having seemingly pushed her Shadowhunter abilities to new limits. Whatever she had been through, it had accelerated her growth.
"Tell us the location in Egypt, and he'll lock onto it," Robert said to the Moon Knight, nodding at Claire and the Guardian.
"Alright, it's in Egypt at..." The Moon Knight, having come this far, no longer hid anything. He provided the tomb's location, and the Guardian quickly pinpointed the target. Robert, Kara, and the Moon Knight stepped through the portal.
"Keep an eye on our situation. I might need you to cut off spatial power like last time," Robert's voice echoed in the Guardian's mind as he disappeared, making the Guardian instantly serious, eyes fixed on the portal.
"What's happening? Do they need our help?" Claire asked, confused by the Guardian's concern.
"Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But I must be prepared," the Guardian said, shaking his head.
"I understand," Claire nodded, her expression growing serious, her eyes resolute.
On the other side, Robert, Kara, and the Moon Knight emerged into a sandy desert. The visibility was poor, and an ordinary person would be unable to see their surroundings clearly.
"Huh?"
"Mm?"
Upon arrival, both Kara and Robert raised their eyebrows, each in their own way detecting Clark's presence.
When Robert had fought the Hell Lord Kayle, Clark had initially been in the mirror dimension. After guiding the Avengers briefly, Clark had disappeared, even when Blue intervened against the Avengers. Clark had stayed away.
Blue had explained during the fight with Kara and the others that severe locust plagues had broken out in Africa, keeping Clark occupied with the disaster.
Now, with Robert and Kara in Egypt, they naturally saw and sensed Clark not far away, having just finished dealing with the locusts. Clark also noticed their arrival.
He had been aware of the Avengers' situation but chose to prioritize the locust plague, knowing the Avengers could manage. Once Robert exited the mirror dimension, Clark focused on the locusts, unaware of the exact events that followed.
"What brings you here?" Clark asked, seeing Robert and Kara, flying in mid-air. He didn't recognize the Moon Knight but didn't show much surprise.
"Superman?" Compared to the lesser-known Robert and Kara, Clark was instantly recognized by the Moon Knight. His presence reassured the Moon Knight, who had been uncertain about Robert and Kara's intentions.
"I found the location of a pantheon god, claiming to be the Moon God. I'm interested in his power and want to investigate," Robert explained to Clark.
"A god? Are there still traces of other gods on Earth? Let me join you," Clark said, catching Robert's intent quickly. He decided to accompany them.
"This isn't far from Wakanda. There might be some connection between these pantheons," Clark added, reminding Robert through telepathy.
Previously, Clark had passed through Wakanda's territory while dealing with the locust plague, but hadn't set foot in Wakanda. Despite defeating the Black Panther God Bast before, he avoided Wakanda this time.
Wakanda had the technology and the gods to handle the locusts themselves. With the surrounding locusts dealt with, those that strayed into Wakanda posed little threat.
"Connected pantheons?" Robert's eyes flickered at the thought, not overly surprised. Having heard many stories from Diana about gods and pantheons, he knew interconnected pantheons weren't uncommon. Some gods even held positions in multiple pantheons...
