Soon, under the guidance of the Moon Knight, the group entered a concealed ancient tomb. With the presence of Clark, even though Clark hadn't communicated much with the Moon Knight, the latter instinctively felt much more at ease and didn't question why Clark was accompanying them.
Inside the ancient tomb, it matched Robert's expectations of an Egyptian tomb almost perfectly, to the point of being stereotypical. However, Robert quickly diverted his attention from the surroundings when he saw a statue...
It was a statue resembling an Egyptian pharaoh. To someone unfamiliar with this civilization, it would be difficult to discern its identity, but the falcon-headed statue indicated that it was not a normal human.
Khonshu, the first moon god in ancient Egyptian mythology, held titles such as the Wanderer, Embracer, Pathfinder, and Protector. He was the god of light and the night, capable of protecting people from wild animals and enhancing certain male abilities, making him quite versatile.
"This is the Moon God? Has he contacted you?" Robert looked deeply at the Moon God statue, not noticing anything unusual, and turned to ask the Moon Knight.
The Moon Knight had previously mentioned that he had appeared here on the verge of death, saved and empowered by the Moon God, who made him his earthly representative.
Thus, when the Moon Knight appeared here, the Moon God should have at least shown some power. But now, Robert sensed nothing from the statue. It seemed like an ordinary statue...
"No..." A hint of surprise flashed in the Moon Knight's eyes as he looked at the statue. Indeed, the Moon God statue showed no supernatural qualities, and even though he was here, he had not received any new instructions from the Moon God.
"Have you been here before?" Robert asked, as if he had thought of something.
"I have, but when I came before, the Moon God would appear." The Moon Knight hesitated before saying softly, "Not his true form, but his power would manifest here. Our communication would be clearer than the voices in my mind..."
"So, he's not coming out because we're here?" Robert's eyes widened slightly. He realized that although the Moon God wanted the Moon Knight to investigate how he could use moonlight power, the Moon God didn't seem eager to meet him.
In this era, deities from all pantheons tended to remain hidden, rarely showing themselves. The Moon God probably didn't want too many extraordinary beings to know his whereabouts.
It seemed the Moon God had cut off contact with the Moon Knight both inside and outside the tomb to avoid revealing his presence...
Of course, this was just Robert's guess. Otherwise, he couldn't understand why the Moon God wouldn't want to meet him, given that the Moon Knight didn't seem to be lying.
"In that case, we'll leave. You stay here. We'll meet again when there's a chance!" Robert thought for a moment, then spoke to the Moon Knight, signaling to Clark and Kara. The three of them disappeared from the tomb in an instant.
"Huh?" The Moon Knight was stunned as he watched the three vanish. He didn't expect Robert to go through the trouble of bringing him from the USA to an Egyptian tomb only to leave because the Moon God didn't show up.
But they left without him, and he hadn't gathered any useful information. This tomb was far from the USA, and getting back alone would be troublesome, especially since he hadn't left the USA in a normal way...
"What a mess!" The Moon Knight muttered, preparing to leave the tomb. But just as he was about to exit, the Moon God's voice echoed in his mind again.
"Have you figured it out?" The majestic voice of the Moon God left the Moon Knight speechless.
When Robert was here, you didn't show up. Now that he's gone, you come out to ask questions. Why didn't you directly talk to Robert to understand the situation?
Of course, these complaints only flashed in the Moon Knight's mind. He didn't actually say them. After all, the Moon God gave him a second chance at life and hadn't forced him to do anything against his will, so he still respected the Moon God.
However, after today's events, the Moon God's image in the Moon Knight's mind had diminished somewhat. He even felt the Moon God was deliberately avoiding Robert and the others and now was just putting on an act.
"I couldn't find out. His power is too strong for me to learn anything unless you give me more power..." The Moon Knight slowly replied.
"The power your body and mind can hold is limited. If I force more power into you, your body and mind won't be able to handle it, causing you pain..." The Moon God replied calmly.
"But I might be able to prepare an artifact to enhance your combat abilities. Your current power is too weak, making you too easy to kill. Reviving you isn't cheap, even though you're no longer bound by the underworld."
"An artifact?" The Moon Knight's eyes lit up. He hadn't considered his power insufficient because he hadn't encountered many powerful extraordinary beings.
But tonight had opened his eyes. He knew his power was no match for Robert, and even against Mach and Nell, he had no chance. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been killed by Nell's rage.
Clearly, Mach and Nell, as werewolves and vampires, weren't the strongest. There were much more powerful beings within their races!
"If I grant you an artifact, it comes with tasks. You don't need to worry about that mysterious extraordinary being for now. I need you to investigate the origins of those werewolves, how they are connected to moonlight and how they steal its power..." Under the Moon God's guidance, the Moon Knight returned to the statue. The statue emitted a faint moonlight, and a crescent-shaped object formed in front of it, resembling a boomerang.
It suited the Moon Knight's previous combat style. He liked throwing projectiles, so he gladly took the crescent-shaped boomerang, ready to examine it when he heard a voice with a hint of amusement: "Found you, Moon God Khonshu!"
"Huh?!" The Moon Knight froze upon hearing the voice. The statue's light dimmed instantly.
"Portal, track the coordinates!" At that moment, Robert decisively contacted the Guardian, tracking the Moon God's power. He immediately entered a portal.
Kara and Clark followed without hesitation, arriving in a mysterious, otherworldly dimension.
"Humans! How dare you intrude on Helipolis of the heavens?!" As they entered the dimension, a majestic voice resounded. They looked up to see a bird-headed god in a gray and white cloak holding a crescent staff, glaring at them. It appeared to be the Moon God Khonshu.
"Helipolis of the heavens? Is this your divine dimension? It doesn't seem as powerful as Asgard... Hmm? There are several strong presences here?" Robert raised an eyebrow, sensing the vast dimension. While not as mighty as Asgard, it had more strong entities, though none seemed to match Odin.
"Kryptonian, it seems our Helipolis has no quarrel with you?" As Khonshu grew angry at being ignored by Robert and the others, a calm voice spoke. Another god, glowing with divine light, appeared and addressed Clark. "Helipolis isn't the strongest pantheon, but we won't be bullied like the Wakanda pantheon."
"You know me? The Black Panther God leaked information about me?" Clark immediately realized the source of the leak. He looked at the god and asked, "How should I address you?"
"You can call me Geb, or the Earth God." The goose-headed Geb revealed his true form. Clark, with his strong will, managed his expression well, showing no sign of surprise.
Robert, having seen many strange beings in the Dragon Ball world, wasn't shocked by the goose-headed figure. However, Kara struggled to hold back her laughter, trying to keep it in.
"We mean no harm. My friend here has business with your Moon God. I'm just here to look around," Clark said, diverting Geb's attention to prevent conflict as Kara struggled to contain her laughter.
"Indeed, your follower accused me of stealing the Moon God's power. But my power is my own, so I'm here to get an explanation..." Robert nodded, stepping in front of Kara to give her time to compose herself, and looked at Khonshu.
"I merely asked my follower to investigate your power. I never said you stole it..." Khonshu's attitude had softened considerably.
Earlier, when Robert, Kara, and Clark appeared in Helipolis, Khonshu considered rallying the entire pantheon against them.
In reality, the confrontation wasn't about Robert but about Clark, a powerful variable. The Asgardian battle was unknown, but the news of Clark defeating the Black Panther God in Wakanda had reached Helipolis.
Due to existing ties, Helipolis learned of Clark's formidable nature. This made Khonshu wary, leading to his initial avoidance when Robert arrived, and his softened stance upon seeing Clark.
Khonshu's plan to rally Helipolis against Clark was thwarted by Geb. Helipolis wasn't at its peak, and many gods were absent. Geb knew they couldn't match Clark, the recognized "Mortal God," head-on.
