At this moment, Robert had already transformed into his Great Ape form. His cells had been activated by the power contained within the moonlight, theoretically preventing further absorption of its strength. The Great Ape form of a Saiyan isn't like a werewolf or Moon Knight; it's inherently a state of berserk power, boosting combat strength tenfold, making it nearly impossible to absorb additional moonlight to enhance power further.
However, the current situation was somewhat different. The moonlight's power wasn't being absorbed by Great Ape Robert voluntarily, nor was it even passive unconscious absorption. Instead, this moonlight forcefully drilled into Robert's body, and facing imminent bodily destruction, his cells were compelled to dissolve this power under duress.
Although constantly dissolving the moonlight's energy, Robert did not transform into another form. Instead, his prior weakness had entirely vanished, his body once again brimming with tremendous power, even stronger than before!
However, simultaneously, a violent force was assaulting Robert's consciousness, akin to the first time he transformed into a Great Ape under the full moon. Back then, despite his strong willpower, he momentarily lost control due to lack of experience. But this time was different; the ferocious onslaught couldn't make him lose consciousness. Instead, Robert marveled at the potential of Saiyan bloodlines.
"A beastly savage consciousness. Has any Saiyan ever discovered this state?" The thought flashed through Robert's mind as he faced the destructive yet empowering moonlight, a sinister smile appearing on his face.
Robert, now in his Great Ape form, was even more violent and savage than before. His previously substantial combat intent had now been influenced by this savage mindset, causing a dramatic shift in his entire aura.
"Huh?! More moonlight power has disappeared?!" Moon God Khonshu's face changed upon realizing Robert's new transformation. Though his attack had injured Robert, the latter's aura hadn't weakened; it had grown even stronger! More importantly, Khonshu couldn't help but feel that Robert had become slightly larger, with an even more formidable sense of threat!
"Roar!" As Khonshu noticed Robert's change and prepared to alter his tactics, the Great Ape Robert charged towards him, through the moonlight like a knife. Despite his bulky form, he displayed terrifying speed, faster than when he was human, posing a significant threat to Khonshu!
"Swish!" However, in the moonlight, Khonshu's speed was equally terrifying. As Robert's punch landed where Khonshu had been, Khonshu's form vanished, causing Robert's strike to hit empty air.
"Roar!" Enraged, Robert roared and unleashed a Super Mouth Cannon, aiming not at Khonshu's previous position but at the full moon in the sky, which still emitted blade-like moonlight.
Robert's goal wasn't to destroy the full moon; despite the moonlight still injuring him, it was also constantly enhancing his strength. His aim was to force Khonshu, who was faster than him, to protect the full moon and confront his Super Mouth Cannon head-on!
During the battle with Khonshu, Robert had accidentally discovered how to continue enhancing himself with the moonlight. Now, he intended to fight until the end and secure victory.
Initially, after falling from the sky due to the collision of Solar Flare and moonlight, Robert had thought victory was impossible. The Great Ape form had its limits, but now, with the enemy's moonlight power strengthening him, he saw hope for victory again!
"Damn it!" Khonshu cursed when he sensed the terrifying energy wave from Robert's Super Mouth Cannon aimed at the full moon. His form vanished, reappearing within the moon, unleashing a powerful energy to collide with the Super Mouth Cannon.
During this clash, the knife-like moonlight didn't disappear either. Khonshu instinctively tried to suppress Robert with dual-threaded operations. However, this time, Khonshu didn't hold the upper hand in the energy clash. Robert's internal strength kept growing as he absorbed the moonlight.
In reality, Khonshu wasn't fighting Robert but his own power, along with Robert's added strength. This nullified Khonshu's original advantage, making it impossible to suppress Robert as before.
"Why do I feel like Robert's body is constantly growing?" Observing from afar, Kara hesitated and telepathically asked Clark.
"Indeed, Robert's power seems to be continuously increasing. This time, he's not losing ground in the energy clash with the Moon God..." Clark nodded, realizing Robert had gained something significant, bringing Clark some joy. At least, their trip to Heliopolis wasn't in vain.
"He's still absorbing moonlight's power?!" On the other side, Khonshu also realized something was wrong but found himself in a dilemma. He didn't know whether to retract his power or not.
After all, Khonshu was the Moon God; moonlight was his power manifestation. If he retracted the moonlight, what power could he use against Robert? Pure speed and physical strength? Could that really defeat Robert?
Various thoughts flashed through Khonshu's mind, but he couldn't find any solution. As time passed, Khonshu realized that prolonging the stalemate was detrimental. Robert was absorbing his power and growing stronger. Without a decisive victory over Robert, the power gap between them would shrink, or Robert might even surpass him!
After all, Khonshu depended on moonlight, but Robert had more than just moonlight's power...
With a hum, Khonshu vanished, ceasing the energy clash with the Super Mouth Cannon. The moon in the sky disappeared, the night turning into day instantly.
Heliopolis, unlike Earth, could undergo such changes without impact. On Earth, it would cause global chaos.
"Boom!" The moon and Khonshu might have vanished, but Robert's Super Mouth Cannon didn't. It struck part of Heliopolis, causing a terrifying explosion, shaking the entire realm.
However, the gods of Heliopolis did not attack Robert. Clark's presence made them cautious, and they couldn't gauge Robert's power accurately, especially since Khonshu seemed to retreat, suggesting he wasn't Robert's match.
Without Khonshu's retreat, the Super Mouth Cannon wouldn't have caused such destruction in Heliopolis. But with an external enemy present, the gods had to focus on more pressing matters.
"The moonlight's gone, no more power flowing into me. It seems I can revert back?" After the Super Mouth Cannon strike, Robert sensed the moonlight's absence and noticed his body's abnormalities were gone. Relieved, he reverted to his human form, delighted to find his power had indeed increased. The energy integrated into his cells during the Great Ape state had perfectly assimilated.
This proved Robert's theory of enhancing himself through moonlight absorption. However, natural moonlight couldn't achieve the same effect as Khonshu's power. Natural moonlight lacked the divine potency of a god's power.
Nonetheless, this extra boost was significant. Clark and Kara also didn't gain their strength overnight; it was through years of accumulation that they reached their current power.
"How did you do it?" As Robert reverted, Khonshu reappeared, not in the air but in front of Robert, looking him in the eye and asking.
"Honestly, I don't know, but it seems I can. Want to release more power so we can research it further?" Robert shrugged, smiling.
"Talent, huh? Humans are truly gifted, though you don't seem human," Khonshu remarked, glancing at Clark.
"Why wouldn't I be human? I'm a standard human!" Robert responded confidently. So what if he had a tail and could transform into a Great Ape? Saiyans couldn't be human? He looked more human than the bird-headed Khonshu and the goose-headed Geb.
"Alright, I look forward to the day you fully comprehend moonlight's power and condense a Moon God divinity!" Khonshu said, leaving Robert a remark before disappearing.
Khonshu was just one Moon God in Heliopolis. Thoth also held the lunar divinity, especially with the new moon symbolizing his power and the full moon representing Khonshu's true strength.
Khonshu sought other ways to enhance his moonlight power, targeting werewolves through the Moon Knight. If he could find the source of werewolf power, he could augment his moonlight dominion.
Robert was another target, but Khonshu couldn't harm him. Robert absorbed his moonlight like an upper god, though Robert showed no divine power or moonlight attributes.
Thus, Khonshu abandoned further confrontation, hoping Robert might condense a Moon God divinity, providing insights into moonlight power...
"He left?" Seeing Khonshu disappear, Robert raised an eyebrow, thinking his ability to infringe on Khonshu's dominion would make the Moon God relentless. Yet after a battle, Khonshu retreated.
But it made sense. Khonshu couldn't defeat Robert with just moonlight power, making retreat a reluctant necessity.
