Chapter 532 - Chapter 532: Misunderstandings and Visitors

Yes, that's right, the blood in the bodies of these werewolves has all been drained. This is naturally the work of the crescent moon throwing knives. The crescent moon throwing knives need to absorb the blood and power of these werewolves to slowly analyze the true source of the werewolves' power.

Of course, just these werewolves alone are not enough. The Moon Knight still needs to kill more powerful werewolves to find the power that the Moon God Khonshu ultimately desires.

At this moment, with more and more werewolves dying, a deeper misunderstanding is unfolding between the werewolves and vampires. There's no way around it—the dead werewolves look as if they've been drained by vampires. Even if the lower-level vampires and werewolves have good relations, they can't ignore the situation unfolding before their eyes. One werewolf after another has lost their blood and life, collapsing to the ground. Moreover, Marius and the vampire duke are fiercely battling nearby, causing both sides to grow increasingly suspicious.

Even the vampires themselves are starting to suspect that their own kin might be responsible for killing the werewolves. After all, the wounds don't seem like something the werewolves could have faked.

As suspicion deepens, the rift between the werewolves and vampires widens. The vampires, wanting to prove their innocence, keep their distance from the werewolves to avoid being suspected. The werewolves, on the other hand, distance themselves from the vampires while trying to figure out which vampire is hunting them.

"Finally noticing something's wrong? This is getting tricky," the Moon Knight muttered, hiding in the moonlit shadows, watching the gathering werewolves. The werewolves were now highly alert, not inspecting the dead bodies but watching their surroundings. If the Moon Knight acted rashly, the werewolves would surely notice.

If it were just these werewolves, the Moon Knight wouldn't be afraid and would decisively kill them all. But the problem was the presence of many vampires, some of whom were powerful enough to cause trouble even if they weren't as formidable as Machinelle.

You might ask why there are no strong werewolves among them. That's because the Moon Knight had already secretly killed most of the powerful werewolves earlier. A couple of strong werewolves could be dealt with sneakily, but with so many people around, the Moon Knight didn't want to expose himself.

Moreover, Marius and the vampire duke were still fighting. Marius had thought it was the vampires targeting the werewolves and had attacked the vampire duke because of it. If these two discovered that the Moon Knight was the real culprit, they would surely turn their anger on him.

Therefore, the Moon Knight could only wait patiently, observing which side would act first. Only when the werewolves and vampires started fighting would the Moon Knight's opportunity arise.

"Dammit!" Marius, battling the vampire duke, finally noticed the unusual situation. Seeing his kin dead and the horrific condition of the bodies, Marius's anger surged, driving him to madness.

With a roar, the dim moonlight in the sky suddenly intensified, illuminating Marius and enhancing his strength.

With a punch, Marius sent the vampire duke flying, but he didn't stop. His fury pushed him to aim for a massacre, intending to kill all the vampires present to avenge his fallen kin.

Previously, the disappearance of werewolves had already angered Marius. Now, seeing so many of his kin dead, how could he hold back?

The vampire duke had been shouting about a misunderstanding, but the sight of the dead werewolves seemed to prove that the vampires were the culprits and the vampire duke was behind it all.

Of course, the real mastermind was still Marcus, a fact Marius would not forget. After killing the vampire duke and the vampires here, Marius intended to seek justice from his ancestors and make Marcus pay dearly.

"What's going on? How did they die?" The vampire duke, knocked down, was also confused. Previously, he could confidently claim that the vampires hadn't attacked the werewolves. But now, seeing the bodies, he began to doubt himself.

"Could it really be our vampires attacking the werewolves? But I didn't give such orders. Could it be Marcus's orders?" The vampire duke lay on the ground, his mind racing with thoughts.

"But I'm the highest commander of this operation. If such orders were given, they should come from me. Did Marcus bypass me because of my good relationship with the werewolves? But even so, he should have informed me. I could have prepared. At the very least, I could have taken preemptive action instead of being so passive now..."

Just as the vampire duke was lost in thought, the sound of bodies being pierced filled the night, accompanied by screams.

"No! Marius! What are you doing?! How dare you slaughter our vampires?!"

"Stop! Please, don't kill me!"

"Don't come any closer!"

"Haha, you vampires can slaughter us werewolves, but we can't fight back against you filthy, disgusting vampires?!" Marius's voice, nearly deranged, echoed through the night. His hands were stained with vampire blood, and vampires were falling one after another.

As one of the few veteran werewolves, Marius knew exactly how to kill vampires. Even without silver, Marius could crush their heads and hearts, ensuring their deaths. Even the resilient vampires couldn't survive such critical damage.

Among the vampires present, only the vampire duke could match Marius in strength. The others were no match and couldn't effectively resist, especially against the enraged, moonlight-empowered Marius.

"Damn it! Marius! What are you doing?!" The vampire duke, hearing the screams, snapped back to reality. Seeing the dire situation of his kin, his eyes turned red with rage. He charged at Marius, shouting to stop him.

While the vampires' losses were less severe than the werewolves', the vampire duke couldn't accept even one of his kin dying at Marius's hands.

Unlike other fragmented vampire origins, this lineage valued kinship, similar to the werewolves. Their ancestor had united them, trying to meld them into a single race. The true reason behind this, however, remained unknown...

Facing the charging vampire duke, Marius knew he couldn't be careless. With the moon's power enhancing him, he was confident he could defeat the duke, but he also knew their strengths were close.

Marius had attacked the vampires to prevent them from attacking the werewolves later. The large number of vampires was more than the werewolves could handle. He wanted to relieve some pressure while the duke was down, but the duke had recovered faster than expected, cutting short Marius's massacre.

"Stay alert, gather together, don't let them get another chance. Protect yourselves, and I'll help you after I kill this deceitful vampire!" Marius shouted to the confused werewolves, preparing to resume his fight with the vampire duke.

"What now?" The werewolves were bewildered. The night's events had unfolded too quickly for them to keep up.

But with the vampires killing their kin and Marius fighting for them, how could they stay indifferent?

"Gather together, focus on defense. Trust in Marius and wait for his victory!" A werewolf called out, rallying his kin to stand together and watch the vampires warily. "If they dare attack, we'll kill the first to come over. We'll fight back!"

Despite their anger, the werewolves knew they were outnumbered and had to preserve their strength. They couldn't let Marius's efforts be in vain.

"What do we do?" The vampires, facing the ready werewolves, discussed their next move.

"What can we do? Our strength can't sway the final battle. Whoever wins between the two leaders decides our fate. But if our duke loses, we'll take the werewolves down with us!" A vampire said coldly, eyes gleaming with malice.

"It's a pity they didn't start fighting..." The Moon Knight, hidden in the shadows, regretted the lack of an all-out brawl. When Marius had begun killing vampires, he had thought his chance had come, but the fight had been cut short.

"Still, there's no rush. With the moon's power, Marius is stronger than the vampire duke. When the duke is near death, I'll disable the moon's power. Even if they don't both die, Marius will lose most of his strength..." The Moon Knight's plans seemed perfect, waiting for the right moment to strike.

But things don't always go as planned, especially with external interference.

"This is the place! So many vampire scents!" Outside the secret gathering spot, a group of people arrived, one of them excitedly announcing their presence.
