Andy was lost in thought once again.
With his current [Alchemy: 4] above-average talent, he was already able to learn basic alchemy and create easy trinkets quickly.
If he is content with just creating alchemical and magical items following existing designs, his current talent is enough. Just like in Potions, he can make potions just by following steps and recipes after some practice.
But after seeing the modified Muggle items and old computer, he also wants to create and modify some items of his own, just like how Mr Weasley modified a car and Sirius modified a motorcycle using the method and spells used in creating a flying broom.
For that, he needs some intuitive senses, like a sharp nose needed for potion making and a good tongue needed for cooking. So, Andy decided to increase his [Alchemy] to five before increasing the [Constitution] and [Thinking] stats, which he had originally planned to increase first.
With his current one Potential point per ten-day rate, he can increase all three stats by one level each before this academic year ends, so there's no-
"Andy!"
Grindelwald's voice made Andy snap out of his daze.
"Let's go." Grindelwald shook his head and said with a wry smile, following Eliza out of the Mechanical Room, who gave Andy a slight smile before leaving, as she had also lost in her thoughts before.
They didn't think much of it, as they would also get lost in thought whenever they saw some interesting magic and heard thought-provoking theories. Some wizards, who were obsessed with magic, would even use occlumency to think, making it a challenge to wake them up in a short time.
Andy scratched the back of his head with an awkward smile and quickly followed behind.
After they went back to the planetary room, Eliza once again returned to her serious guide role.
"Our German Department of Mysteries has a total of seven rooms." Eliza introduced, pointing to the seven golden doorknobs that suddenly appeared.
"Seven?" Andy asked in a puzzled tone.
As far as he remembered, the British Department of Mysteries has a total of twelve rooms.
He wondered if the British side has more rooms compared to other countries, or if it is just Germany that has fewer rooms. Maybe both.
"Yes. Our branch combined some fields that have high connections in one room without separating them. We aren't like others, wanting to just show we have more research topics." Eliza explained in a disdainful tone.
"We don't waste our resources. Just like the planetary observation in the entrance hall."
"It is not much of a secret and dangerous research. If we find some confidential findings during our observation, we will just send the data to the Archive as per protocol. There's no need to create a separate Planetary Room and Arithmetic Divination Hall like some Department of Mysteries do."
"The room we visited before is the Mechanical Room, a new field of study started just a few decades ago." When saying this, Eliza gave Grindelwald a side-eye.
Andy looked at Grindelwald, whose expression remained the same, as he listened.
Judging by her expression and what Grindelwald said before, it should be research that his followers started.
"This is the Mythological room." Eliza opened a door and introduced the room with pride in her eyes.
Andy and Grindelwald entered, following behind her.
Inside, the room looked like a gallery or museum, with a collection of ancient paintings, sculptures, inscribed stone slabs, and artefacts on display. Some artefacts were draped with black cloth, and a few were inside transparent glass-like boxes inscribed with sealing runes on their edges.
"What are those? Why are they sealed?" Andy pointed at the sealed artefacts and asked with interest.
Looking at the black cloth, Andy immediately thought of the Death Chamber; the arch inside the chamber was also draped in a black curtain, so this increased his curiosity a lot.
From the term Mythological room, the artefacts and arts here should be related to the German and Norse Mythological era, a time when gods were sighted and rumoured to have lived in this surface world, or at least, they must be historical artefacts from an ancient era, right?
"That is Siegfried's sword! A sword recorded to have been used by Siegfried to kill an ancient sentient dragon. From what I can disclose, that sword can increase the physical strength of the wielder it approves. But it has a powerful curse that will absorb the vitality with slight contact, making the wielders rapidly age." Eliza introduced the sword with great enthusiasm.
Just like Gryffindor's sword, which is also rumoured to only be wielded by a true Gryffindor to its true power.
Why did every Ancient wizard enchant their weapons with such character and personality locks? Is it a widely spread lock of that era, like facial and fingerprint recognition locks used in smartphones?
Andy mused, listening to Ms Eliza introducing everything in a tone and vigour similar to Hermione explaining things in her Known-it-all mode.
"This is a cauldron that whispers riddles from the Nibelungenlied. If you fail to answer its riddle, it will curse you with a sleepless week. During the cursed week, you will continuously hear its whispers in your mind."
"And this is a Norse- and this Pied Piper's-"
"This is Rübezahl's—"
"Everything in this room is linked to Germanic myths and legends. Proving many of our legends and histories." When saying the last part, the pride she has is visible in her eyes.
After touring the whole room, they made their way out.
Entering the entrance hall, Eliza pointed at a door and said, "This is a sealed room. The Love Roo-"
"Love Room!" Andy exclaimed, interrupting her.
Both Grindelwald and Eliza turned to look at him due to his outburst.
"Sorry." Andy took a deep breath, calmed down, and explained. "I saw a locked room in the British Department of Mysteries as well, so I was just surprised a bit."
He thought the Death Chamber and Love Room were exclusive to the British Department of Mysteries, since the arch in the Death Chamber was connected to the Death dimension.
"Oh... Well, the Love Room and Death Chamber can be found in all seven Departments of Mysteries that were first founded during the Wizard Council era. There were even rumours that the Department of Mysteries was founded to monitor, analyse, and observe these two rooms." Eliza explained.
"Death chamber, too," Andy murmured with wide eyes.
That means there are at least seven known entrances to the death dimension all over the world.
And it is seven again.
"Yes. Have you been inside those rooms?" Eliza asked, turning to look at Grindelwald with a confused look, who just shrugged, gesturing he didn't know.
From his reaction, he seems to have entered those rooms. Eliza was shocked that the Unspeakables allowed him to enter such secret and dangerous rooms.
"No, no, I didn't enter the locked room. And I only stayed inside the death chamber for a few seconds; it felt creepy and desolate inside, so I didn't stay there." Andy quickly explained. Although that old man didn't answer his questions as much as this lady, at least he let him roam through the place, so Andy didn't want to trouble him.
"Hm." Hearing his answer, Eliza looked a bit relieved.
Now that she thought about it, even that bunch won't allow a non-unspeakable to enter the Love Room.
