Chapter 215 The Quest
"Oh, hey, Aleshia! How have you been? It seems like you finished class earlier than usual today," Ren said with concern. "Is it because of Daniel? If it is, I'll have a serious talk with him," she added, her expression turning serious.
"Maybe? I'm not sure," Aleshia replied, tilting her head as she considered the question. She remembered that Lucia was making a deal with Daniel. Based on what she knew, she continued, "I think I ended class early because I'm going to get permission to head out. I'll probably ask you all to tag along, just like last time."
Ren was skeptical about the way Aleshia worded things, but when she heard the last part, her ears perked up. Her serious expression transformed into one of anticipation and excitement. However, as she processed Aleshia's earlier words, her demeanor grew more severe, though the initial look of excitement did not fade.
"Alright, go talk to him and make sure you get him to agree!" she said eagerly. "But when you leave, I will be talking to him," she added ominously.
Aleshia could guess the hidden meaning behind Ren's words, instinctively making a face, even though her actual expression remained unchanged. Leaving, she quickened her pace while saying her goodbyes.
Through their mental connection, Aleshia expressed her unease, "I don't think we should mess with that girl." She then asked, "What did she mean when she said classes ended earlier, Lucia?"
After coming up with an explanation, Lucia explained, "I sensed that you would be waking up soon, so I thought it would be best to end the class early. I wanted to avoid startling or confusing the children with such an event. When you did wake up, it seemed like you were a bit disoriented. All that commotion could have overwhelmed you then."
"Thank you for being so considerate," Aleshia said gratefully. With Lucia's support, Aleshia made her way to the room where Daniel was likely to be—the cursed chambers. Peeking inside, she saw him there, and, just as before, he seemed to notice their arrival.
"So, what do you think of the deal? I'm still able to change some parts if you don't like it," Daniel said, turning away from who he was tending to.
Lucia noticed Daniel didn't say what he usually would when she was in control of the body, finding it peculiar that he could sense who was in control so quickly.
While Lucia was deep in thought, Aleshia responded, "Could you explain the quest that you will be assigning to us? And also, who will be allowed in our group?"
