Chapter 125 - Chapter 121. The Battle Continues

"Rrrraaa!!"

Huge green hands clamped down on the jaws of the mutated monster that was the first to reach the scene of the fight.

After Noah threw Banner forward, Banner, already scared half to death, saw a gaping maw full of sharp teeth right in front of him. At that moment, his adrenaline surged, gamma energy boiled within him, and he transformed into the Hulk once again.

The Hulk's eyes flashed with rage, his face contorted in fury, and his muscles bulged, tearing the remnants of his clothing, leaving only a single resilient pair of shorts made of some unknown material. Currently, he was holding the jaws of a huge mutated lizard, over five meters long. The lizard's back was covered in sharp spikes, and its powerful, two-meter-long tail thrashed wildly against the ground, leaving gouges in its wake.

"Lizards! Hulk hates!"

No matter how desperately the lizard struggled, the Hulk squeezed its jaws so tightly that its sharp teeth couldn't even scratch his tough skin. With a loud roar, he tightened his grip, and with a sickening crunch, the lizard's teeth and jaw shattered. Then, with a mighty heave, he ripped its jaws apart. Green blood gushed out like a fountain.

Roaring loudly, the Hulk tossed aside the torn jaw, then grabbed the writhing lizard and slammed it against a tree, which cracked and collapsed. Silence fell.

He brushed the green blood off his hands and then looked at Noah with irritation. He recognized this black-clad figure – he was the one who had previously stunned him with an electric shock using some kind of device.

"Don't rush to get revenge; look over there instead," Noah said, pointing behind him.

The Hulk paused in surprise, but before he could turn around, a whole pack of huge mutated dogs lunged at him. He instinctively raised his arm to defend himself, but managed to fend off only one dog; the rest clung to him. From the powerful impact of the pack of dogs, each the size of a calf, he lost his balance and crashed to the ground.

The dogs furiously gnawed at his body, and to his surprise, their mutated teeth managed to pierce his thick skin. The Hulk, seething with rage, tried with all his might to shake off these creatures, but they held on tight.

"Rrrraaa!!"

Feeling the unbearable pain, the Hulk's rage intensified, and his body suddenly increased in size, his strength multiplying. He began to furiously pound his fist on the head of one of the dogs clamping down on his arm, and soon the dog's head was smashed. Having gained his freedom, he threw off the remaining dogs, which, despite their enormous size, couldn't hold him.

Getting to his feet, he lunged at the pack, tearing them to pieces.

Noah, watching the Hulk fight the dogs, didn't rush to intervene. It suddenly occurred to him that the Hulk was truly a unique creature. Such powerful mutants could be created from his blood, but he himself was likely the result of a unique set of circumstances, and his appearance couldn't be replicated.

Meanwhile, more and more mutated creatures approached the battlefield, but there was no longer any space around the Hulk. The other monsters could only watch from afar, growling viciously and waiting for their chance. Mutants with venomous glands occasionally spat venom, which fell on the ground, on other monsters, and on the Hulk, corroding their skin.

However, these minor wounds only intensified the Hulk's rage. He threw mutants to the ground or against trees, turning them into a bloody mess, but new ones quickly replaced the fallen.

Some of the mutated creatures noticed Noah and headed towards him, although their main target was the Hulk. However, the madness that gripped them compelled them to attack anything that caught their eye.

Several powerful yellow lightning bolts struck the creatures heading towards him, knocking them to the ground. The monsters writhed, enveloped in smoke, as several cutting waves of air crashed down on them, slicing them in half. Noah, holding his plasma sword, made a few swings, and then with one powerful slash, he cut a group of mutated cats that lunged at him into pieces.

"Pew-pew!"

A laser beam sliced through the air and struck a mutated venomous snake and a lizard that were spitting venom from a distance. The laser passed through their bodies, leaving behind several smoking, bloody holes. Noah accurately hit their brains, and, losing control of their bodies, they collapsed to the ground, convulsing in their death throes.

"Shhh..."

The sound of flapping wings filled the air, and a flock of mutated birds descended upon him. Their green feathers, distorted after the mutation, became disheveled, their beaks sharpened, and their claws transformed into razor-sharp weapons. These once-cute birds had now become monsters with wingspans of over two meters.

Noah raised his hand, from which light spilled forth – the holy light of the Guardian Angel, a weapon usually intended for salvation. However, in his hands, this light became a tool of destruction. The white radiance, bright as the sun, exploded in the night forest, illuminating everything around.

The flock of birds diving down shrieked in pain and began to melt like ice cream, turning into clouds of steam that quickly dissipated. The mutated creatures closer to the epicenter of the explosion began to slowly dissolve, trying to crawl away, shielding their eyes and retreating from Noah.

"Excellent result," Noah remarked, clenching his fingers. "First time using the Guardian Angel's power in combat."

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Meanwhile, the Hulk finished his fight. Because the mutants retreated under the influence of Noah's light, a temporary clearing formed around him, and he seized the opportunity. With powerful blows, he threw back all the mutants surrounding him.

Now the Hulk was much larger than when he first transformed – his strength increased with his growing rage. Although this aspect of his power was also shown in the MCU, it was described much more impressively in the comics.

A pile of mutated creatures' bodies now lay around him, and green blood covered the ground. However, many mutants remained, and although Noah's holy light momentarily slowed their advance, rage soon consumed them again, and they resumed their attack.

Noah, sensing the approach of new mutants, realized that this was only a small part of the total army; the main force, apparently, was somewhere near Warwick.

"Hat, your turn," Noah said, and two bronze gauntlets appeared in his hands. "Time to test what I've learned lately."
