Helen's POV
Scott and I were imprisoned within the glistening wall of magic. As though the barrier was alive, I felt an odd, cold resistance when I put my hands against it. It appeared to mock my attempts by pulsing when I touched it.
Leoric smirked mockingly as he observed us from outside the barrier. He appeared to have already won because of his comfortable posture and folded arms.
"Leoric, do you like to watch us struggle?" I yelled, maintaining a firm voice despite my heart's fear. "This will not last forever!"
Amused, Leoric arched an eyebrow. "Won't it? Helen, this is not your typical spell. It is a barrier that is fashioned with old magic that you cannot even comprehend. I would advise you to conserve your strength.
Scott, who was standing next to me, looked directly into Leoric's eyes. "We'll figure something out. He said, "Henry's power is stronger than you realize," with a confidence in his voice that I wished I had.
