"Darren, to be honest, I do admire your abilities,"
Hank Pym said while his eyes scanned the room, searching for a small figure. He wasn't entirely sure whether Scott had followed Alan in.
The problem was, with all those body scanners outside — could Scott really have snuck in?
"You actually pulled it off."
Darren sneered and shook his head. "The word 'success' was made for me, Hank…"
At that moment, the sound of the door locking rang out clearly through the entire 'Hive', echoing as if to say that Alan and the others were now birds in a cage.
Hope looked around anxiously — she still hadn't seen any sign of Scott. Could it be that he hadn't made it in?
Darren had his back to Alan and the others, slowly turning around. The surveillance footage in the room had already been faked. Even if the police were alerted,
they wouldn't suspect him. Now, it all depended on Alan and Tony's choices. If they chose to side with him, Hank Pym would simply vanish from the world,
leaving no trace behind. Besides, Hope held a grudge against Hank. Darren was confident she would understand his "good intentions."
Alan glanced at Tony. Several insect-like shadows had already settled on top of the containment device holding the Wasp Suit.
First, retrieve the Wasp Suit. As for the data in the server, Jarvis would take care of that. Darren's people would never be able to trace it back to them.
"Oh right, Hank, I almost forgot to tell you… I've already laid out a detailed plan for Pym Technologies' future. Michelle will be our largest buyer, with a long-term supply contract!"
A sinister smile twisted across Darren's face. "And all of this success has nothing to do with you. You're a complete failure — even your own daughter, Hope, looks down on you!"
Tony raised an eyebrow. "Seems like, as outsiders, this may not be the best setting for us to stick around."
"No, no, Mr. Stark — I think you'll be very interested. Michelle has brought in a number of fascinating partners for Pym Technologies. You may have heard of them…
Hydra?"
Darren Cross waved his hand casually with a smile. "I wonder if the two of you might be interested in working with Pym Technologies?"
Faced with Darren's offer, Alan smiled faintly. "I'm not really that interested. Maybe Tony is?"
Suddenly, an alarm blared from the particle chamber. Darren immediately spun around and saw — the Wasp Suit was gone.
He slammed the call button, ordering a full lockdown — no one in, no one out.
"This was your doing, wasn't it, Hank?" Darren stormed up to Hank Pym, towering over him with rage.
"I don't understand what you're talking about. Looks like you've run into a bit of trouble," Hank said calmly, feeling deeply relieved inside — Scott had successfully taken the Wasp Suit.
Right then, Darren's phone rang. The voice on the other end reported the database had been destroyed. Darren's expression turned pitch black.
He pulled out a weapon and aimed it at Hank Pym. Aside from Hank, he couldn't think of who else it could've been.
"You bastard! You're behind all of this, aren't you?!"
Hope gasped and covered her mouth, trying to step forward and calm Darren down — but two guards grabbed her arms and restrained her.
"Darren, are you insane?!"
