The meeting over, the groups formed. The older ones told their stories, the younger ones asked questions. But Isabella had only one thought in mind.
She slowly approached Klaus.
"Klaus?"
He turned around, feigning surprise.
"Oh, Isabella... strange atmosphere for a meeting, isn't it?"
"Yeah... Anyway. I came to talk to you about what Diana said."
"Excuse me?"
"Don't play that game. You know perfectly well. What you know about my breakup with Ray."
Klaus sighed.
"Okay... But not here. Too many stares. How about coming over for dinner tomorrow night? I promise, I'll tell you everything."
Isabella hesitated. She didn't like the idea. But she wanted the truth.
"Okay... Tomorrow. But I want answers."
"See you tomorrow, Isabella," Klaus said with an enigmatic smile.
When she turned on her heel, Klaus muttered to himself, a wicked smile on his lips:
> See you tomorrow, my love. I can't wait too…
From a distance, Gale watched the scene, frowning. But his curiosity was interrupted by Diana.
"Gale? Can you walk me home?" she asked softly.
He smiled at her and accepted.
The next morning, Miria went down to the kitchen. She was still a little shaken by the events of the day before. And then, she saw him.
Asher. Shirtless. Making breakfast.
His torso was firm, muscular, but not overdone. His perfectly defined abs looked as if they were carved from marble, and his tanned skin glistened slightly in the morning light. He looked like a Greek god who had come down to earth.
She stood there in awe... and inwardly, she thought:
> He looks like a Greek god...
"So I look like a Greek god?" a voice in her head called out.
She jumped.
"Is that you? You spoke to me?"
"Do you think so?" Asher replied, a smirk.
"You can... read my mind?"
"Yes. But that's not all."
"What else?"
Asher looked mysterious.
"What will I get... in return?"
"Anything you want..." she said, lowering her eyes slightly.
"Anything I want...?" he repeated, moving closer to her.
He gently stroked her cheek, his voice low and vibrant.
—Although it was very tempting…
He slowly bit his lower lip, and Miria felt her heart race. He slowly leaned toward her lips… closer and closer… Until…
"No."
She opened her eyes wide in shock.
He returned to his kitchen as if nothing had happened, leaving Miria there, alone, lost in the turmoil of her emotions.
