Several days passed.
The evening sky in the city was painted in shades of orange and crimson, as if the sun refused to set and still wanted to bathe the world in light for just a little longer. Inside the bar, the warm yellow lights began to flicker on one by one, creating a false sense of warmth amid the growing noise of arriving customers.
Feeling strong enough and not wanting her father to get suspicious, Alexis returned to work as usual. She wore a white shirt with a black skirt and a black tie accessory, tying her hair with small braids on each side. Her makeup was light with red lipstick. The pregnant girl kept herself busy, trying to drown out the thoughts of Greyson spinning endlessly in her head.
"As long as my belly isn't showing... everything will be fine," she whispered to herself, more to convince her heart than anyone else.
