Lu Mingfei was not a pervert—he had none of those twisted hobbies.
He simply took off his coat and draped it over the immobilized Constantine.
Constantine could only stare helplessly, wide-eyed.
Ren Asakura nodded in satisfaction, then turned his gaze to Dragon King Norton, who was still bound to the bronze pillar.
"Jie jie jie, now it's just you left."
Ren Asakura pulled two tube-like items out of his pocket—they looked like toothpaste.
Lu Mingfei found them strangely familiar.
"Hey, isn't that the spicy sauce we used when we were eating skewers at that street stall?"
Ren Asakura smiled slightly.
"Jie jie jie!!!"
"Are you going to confess or not?!"
Then he shoved the opening of the spicy sauce tube straight into Dragon King Norton's nostril.
…
Lu Mingfei covered his eyes.
He was pretty sure Ren Asakura was doing all this just for fun.
"Confess or not?!"
After a round of discipline–torture–education, Dragon King Norton looked completely broken.
The human body really was too fragile.
"Confess what?! You didn't even ask me a question!"
Ren Asakura turned around, visibly confused.
"…I didn't?"
Lu Mingfei shrugged.
Mai also shrugged.
"Oops, our bad."
Ren Asakura scratched his head awkwardly.
"Alright, then—where did you hide Old Tang?"
Dragon King Norton's face was bright red—clearly, the spice had hit hard.
"I am Old Tang!"
"You think I'm buying that?!"
Ren Asakura smacked him hard across the face.
Memory isn't just stored in the brain—bodies remember, too.
Sometimes, the body reacts before the brain does. That's called muscle memory.
Now that Dragon King Norton had turned human, the dominant personality was Old Tang.
It's just that Norton's memories were too overwhelming,
Making it hard to tell the human and dragon personas apart.
But after Ren Asakura's, let's call it, training—
It became clear.
The human Old Tang was flexible, adaptive.
Not arrogant like Dragon King Norton.
And the moment he yielded—
He was Old Tang.
If a dream-flower or a moon reflected on water is just a fleeting illusion,
What if that illusion never faded?
Then perhaps, the dream-flower and moon-in-water are no less real than reality itself.
In the face of absolute power, all miracles and impossibilities become possible.
The seal Ren Asakura left behind was no ordinary spell.
Old Tang looked absolutely wronged.
"I really am Old Tang!"
Ren Asakura looked skeptical.
"Prove it!"
"I've never beaten you at Starcraft!"
Ren Asakura froze, then suddenly smiled.
"Hmm… I'm starting to believe you."
"I told you I'd treat you to a feast in the States," Old Tang continued.
Ren Asakura nodded again.
"Okay, that's convincing me… mostly."
Old Tang strained to think, then added,
"When we were drinking, I even asked to be your little brother, so you could teach me your skills! You're my big bro!"
Ren Asakura acted completely shocked—his dramatic performance worthy of an Oscar.
"Little brother! You should've said so earlier! If I'd known you were back to being Old Tang, how could I have treated you this way? Don't blame your big bro!"
The rope binding Old Tang vanished instantly.
Old Tang fell straight off the bronze pillar—
But just as he was about to hit the ground, Ren Asakura caught his arms.
"Little brother!"
"Big bro!"
"Little brother!"
"Big bro!"
At that moment, it felt just like the Oath of the Peach Garden.
The two of them gripped each other's forearms.
Lu Mingfei stared at the sudden plot twist, completely thrown off.
"Mingfei, quickly release my little bro's little brother. From today onward, my little bro's little brother is my little brother."
Ren Asakura's eyes were brimming with enthusiasm.
Lu Mingfei waved his hand, dispelling the binding spell.
The moment Constantine regained his freedom, he sprinted toward Old Tang.
"Brother!"
At this point, Old Tang had fully fused with Norton's memories.
But because humanity now dominated his psyche, he was Old Tang.
"Constantine!"
Old Tang smiled gently—familial love was the deepest bond of all human emotions.
"Wait—put some clothes on first!"
Old Tang abruptly stopped himself. No matter how close they were as brothers, two naked men hugging would be extremely awkward…
Especially with a beautiful, seductive woman standing nearby.
Mai had already seen everything—things she probably shouldn't have.
And with that, this absurd farce had finally come to an end.
Constantine tilted his head slightly, eyes full of innocence.
Old Tang could only sigh in exasperation.
Ren Asakura reinserted the Spine Sword into the Dragon King's guard's body.
Freed at last, the guard knelt beside Old Tang, trembling.
It was as if he was silently confessing his failure and guilt to his king.
"This isn't your fault. Continue guarding Bronze City,"
Old Tang said seriously to the Dragon King's guard.
In that moment, he was Dragon King Norton again.
Having received new orders, the guard vanished swiftly into the darkness.
"You go back to your slumber here too… Samson."
From the shadows, a pair of glowing eyes slowly closed.
…
In the Yangtze River basin, a few heads suddenly broke the water's surface—
In a turbulent section, no less.
And yet these figures seemed completely unaffected by the undercurrent, swimming slowly toward the shore.
One by one, they climbed out of the water.
Once on land,
Lu Mingfei wrapped the Seven Deadly Sins in his clothes and strapped it to his back.
Ren Asakura followed right behind him, completely dry.
Old Tang led his younger brother Constantine up the riverbank as well.
Mai brought up the rear.
Once they left Bronze City, Mai finally let out a long sigh of relief.
What she had just witnessed was far too dangerous.
If the enraged Dragon King had casually unleashed a speech incantation, she would've been toast.
Just as she stepped onto land, she heard her black-hearted boss speak up:
"Mai, book a few hotel rooms. We had a fun day—get a good night's sleep. We continue tomorrow."
This black-hearted boss never missed a chance to squeeze every drop out of her.
"…Fine!"
Mai could only mutter the word through clenched teeth.
It was already late at night—many places had closed.
Which meant it was time for the "nanny" to step in.
Mai pulled out her waterproof phone and dialed the number of "Chip Girl" Su Enxi.
She was ready to rant about how cruel her new boss was—
But then she remembered Rule #2 of the Employee Handbook:
No badmouthing the boss behind their back.
"Chip Girl, book me a few hotel rooms. If you still want to see me alive, hurry up. I just came out of the Dragon King's lair—I nearly died."
"Leggy girl! Poor you. Hahaha! I heard your new boss is super shady. Making you work overtime in the middle of the night? Tsk, tsk…"
A cheerful voice rang from the other end of the line.
Mai felt a headache coming on.
"Just get the rooms. We're near the Three Gorges Dam. Oh, and get a few sets of men's clothes too…"
Su Enxi, one of the three "nannies" Lu Mingze assigned to assist Lu Mingfei, might not have had much combat ability—
But when it came to business and making money, she was a genius among geniuses.
As the saying goes: Money isn't everything, but without it, you have nothing.
