After dinner, Seraphina and the Lady headed to their room for the night. In the hallway, Charles, Everett, William, Walter, and Sai stood talking for a bit longer.
"I'm going to my room," Sai said quietly and left, his footsteps echoing down the corridor.
Walter turned to the others. "So… are we all sleeping in the same room tonight?" he asked casually.
Before anyone could answer, a cheerful voice interrupted them. "Hello, everyone!"
It was Noah, walking in with a big grin. Charles and Everett exchanged an annoyed glance.
"Who invited him?" Charles muttered under his breath.
"It must've been your wife," Everett replied dryly.
"You're right," Noah said, catching the tail end of their words. He plopped down on a nearby chair. "So, brother, are you staying the night?"
From down the hallway, Seraphina called out, "Yes, we are!"
Charles gave Everett a side glance and leaned in to whisper, "Maybe we should sleep in the guest room tonight."
